3 Welcome To The Team Chicago is the home of many professional sports teams. It is one of the four U.S. cities to have teams from five major American professional sports team. These sports are baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and soccer. Chicago was a candidate city for the 2016 Summer Olympics but lost to Rio de Janeiro. - Imagine watching these pros play like the bosses. The mascot for the Chicago Bears, Staley da bear, named his cub Clark who became the mascot for Chicago Cubs. Clark was born loving the Cubs - it's in his blood! His greatgrandbear Joa was once the original live bear mascot for the team back in the early 1900 s. When Joa retired to Lincoln Park Zoo, he delighted the young bears with hundreds of amazing Cubs stories, and Clark was hooked! He dreamed of making his greatgrandbear proud and playing for the Cubs - even though he'd never even seen a game in his life. He is the mascot of the Chicago Bulls and his name is Benny the Bull. Big Benny does a half time show called the elevators. They do stunts off of trampolines and do flips and other fantastic things. This is definitely a show that you don't want to miss! You would think the relentless paparazzi would keep Benny in hiding most of the time. 5 No one is sure of what animal this is but it's definitely not a bear. This cute, green, and big monster-like creature lives on the southside of Chicago. Some people think he's an alligator, some think he s a frog, and some even think he looks like a dirty sock. Those are all really silly, but he's none of these are actually what he is. He's just a green dude that loves the Chicago White Sox. His name is a reference to a lefthand pitcher and is also a reference to Chicago's South Side, where the team plays. What is it? You may ask, what is the name for this scary Bear? Well it is Staley Da Bear. Staley Da Bear ranks as the all-time funniest, friendliest, fuzziest, funkiest bear in the history of the NFL. He currently leads the Bears in most t-shirts shot into the crowd (1,920), most costume changes in a single season (77), longest butt bounce (40 yards), most high fives (34,051,054.06), most autographs signed (16,726), and the most dance moves. During Chicago Wolves games, which is the minor league hockey team in Chicago, Skates the mascot is there entertaining the crowd. He loves to high-five fans, sign autographs, throw t-shirts and get involved with all the promotions. He especially loves dancing in the aisles to Cotton Eyed Joe. The team that plays at this arena are the Chicago White Sox. They play baseball here. The park is owned by the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, but operated by the White Sox. The the wild cats cave is Ryan Field a stadium in Evanston on the campus of Northwestern University. It is primarily used for football. It is a baseball stadium and is also a main tourist attraction when people come into Chicago to visit. It was named after William Wrigley.
