There is a lot of important information in this newsletter regarding picture dates, class schedules, recital ticket sales, team rehearsals, etc. Also, it is nearing time for our Competition Team Auditions for next year Sunday, June 3 rd. You can pick up an information packet at the front desk in about two weeks, or we can a packet to you. Our Intensive Dance Camps are scheduled for July 30 th - August 4 th. You can pay by the week or by the class. Company Team is REQUIRED to attend the two-week camp. Don t forget to keep reading the bulletin board each week. Spring is a busy time for us. DCPAC Teachers/Staff Recital Information Preparations for Our Annual Showcase Are Underway Our annual recital showcase is scheduled for Sat, June 16 th at Francis Howell Central High School. Our annual showcase is a combination of months of training and preparation for the excitement and pride every dancer feels having their moment in the spotlight. Over the remaining months, attendance will be extremely important. With the dancers learning their routines it is important they don t fall behind. If your dancer is out of class for several weeks, private lessons are available with your child s teacher or assistant teacher to catch up with the rest of the class. Tickets will go on sale, Sat, May 12 9:00 AM. Tickets are reserved seating. June can be a hectic month with recital, etc and it is easy to forget to pay your June Tuition. Therefore, in addition to your account being paid in full, your June tuition must also be paid before purchasing recital tickets. By doing this in May, you will receive the early payment discount for June. Recital Pictures Please mark your calendar! 2 Featured Teacher of the Month Stephanie Reese Office Manager Stephanie has been working as the Office Manager at Dance Connection Performing Arts Center since She has many jobs - registration, accounts receivable, and much more. If you need help or have any questions, she s the one to ask. If she doesn t have the answer, she will find it for you. She loves all of her dancers and families, and considers this home! Unattended Children and Leaving the Building Studio Policy and Guide Review: It is Dance Connection Performing Art s policy that no child under the age of 10 to be left unattended between classes. At the end of class, younger children are watched to make sure all parents are there for pick up. Older children are excused from class on their own. We realize that emergencies arise and at times you may be a few minutes late for pick up. When you call to say you are running late, the receptionist may not be able to immediately go and tell your child. Please be prepared for these instances and instruct your children to go to the front desk and ask for help if they don t see you or their ride. In the past, we have had some problems with children leaving the building between classes. Children even over the age of 10 should be instructed to never leave the building and to always wait inside the building for their ride to arrive. We want to do everything we can for your child s safety, however, the studio cannot be responsible for students once class time is over. Your Child s Safety Is Important to Us

Lobby Etiquette Lobby etiquette has become part of our teaching which includes respect for the arts, teachers and facility. We feel it is important to teach dance, as well as, assist you in building the character of your child. Please help us by reminding your children of these lobby rules and setting a good example for them. Please remember: 1. Speak softly. 2. Always walk, do not run. 3. Do not throw balls or objects inside the studio. 4. Children are not allowed to play in the dance rooms. 5. Keep food and drinks in the lunchroom only. 6. Throw away your trash. 7. Put the toys away when you re done. 8. Do not block the front desk or hallways causing others to have to step over you or your personal items. 9. Only speak kind words. 10. Do not gossip. 11. Enjoy observing your child, don t worry about others. 12. Never leave a child under the age of 10 unattended between classes. 13. Have your child wait inside for pickup. 14.
