1 The Green Room Dance Studio 321 Douglas Avenue, Yankton, SD It s that time again! The second performance of Viva Las Vegas 2017 at Riverboat Days is here! This packet holds a lot of really important information. Please read it carefully and have your highlighter and calendar ready! Rehearsals for the 2017 Riverboat Days performances will be held on the following days & times. Please be sure to look over the practice schedules carefully so your child is on time for his/her rehearsals. Please try to be there at least 10 minutes earlier than your scheduled start time as we sometimes run ahead of schedule. Please do not be late! In case of severe rain, the rehearsals (excluding Run Throughs) will be held at the studio. Please check Facebook or the website for official call. We need everyone s cooperation and understanding in order to make the show a success! All rehearsals will be held at the Riverside Park Amphitheatre and will be considered your final class of the summer. These rehearsals will NOT BE IN COSTUME. Dancers are to wear their normal dance attire for rehearsals. Also, please ensure all hair is appropriately pulled back away from the dancer s face, just like it should be for normal classes. Please do not wear street clothes as this is still a dance rehearsal. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can begin on time. Dancers should come in regular dancewear (NO COSTUMES) with hair off face, correct shoes, etc. We will start with the finale and then start the show from the beginning. On this day, after your child has rehearsed you may leave. A run through of the Sunday (August 20 th ) performance will be held Thursday, August 17 th from 7:00-8:00 PM at Riverside Park Amphitheater. Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can begin on time. Dancers should come in regular dancewear (NO COSTUMES) with hair off face, correct shoes, etc. We will start with the finale and then start the show from the beginning. On this day, after your child has rehearsed you may leave. Also, in case of rain, REHEARSALS will be moved to the studio, however RUN THROUGHS will simply be cancelled. The studio is not big enough hold a complete run through.

3 PERFORMANCES (August 19th & 20th) If your child(ren) is (are) performing in more than one number, they are to bring their other costume(s) to the park with them. Any students needing help changing into another costume to perform should be assisted by their parent/guardian. Changing tents will be located to the south of the Amphitheater. Our dressing tents are located on the east side for the Sunday performance. We are performing FIRST this year for the Sunday show and the Dakota Dance Association requests that we please take all our belongings with us after our show and do not leave them in the tents during the other show. Thank you so much for your cooperation in advance! Hair & Makeup should be worn as listed on the last pages of this packet. Please ensure that if your hair is in a ponytail or bun, THERE ARE TO BE NO WHISPIES. Slick your hair back with hairspray, gel, etc. You are representing the dance studio, so please set a good example of professionalism. If you are unsure about how your hair and makeup is supposed to be, please check at the desk or with your child s teacher. Just a reminder: NO UNDERWEAR, NO JEWELRY, NO FINGERNAIL OR TOE POLISH, NO TATTOOS, NO COLOR STRIPS IN YOUR HAIR, AND NO BODY OR HAIR GLITTER should be worn for the performance! Please make sure all ballet laces are tucked in and not seen. Also, please be smart with your dance shoes. We realize this is an outside event, but please try to limit the walking around in your dance shoes on the grass and mud to an absolute minimum. Utilize those blankets! Thanks for your cooperation! Parents supervising a group are responsible for all the children in their group during the performance and must stay with the group until ALL children have been picked up by their parents. Supervising parents are asked to bring a sheet or a blanket for their group to sit on, as well some entertainment for the younger children (i.e. coloring books, toys, cars, etc.). The entire group must stay together for the whole show. No child is allowed to go to the bathroom alone. They MUST be with one of the supervising parents! If you are a supervising parent, we ask that you are available for the run through as well. If you are not, please arrange for someone else to fill in for you! ALL STUDENTS MUST STAY THROUGH THE ENTIRE SHOW! EVERYONE IS IN THE FINALE! Saturday, August 19, 2017 Students from The Green Room Dance Studio perform at 6:30pm at the Riverside Park Amphitheater. Students should arrive at the Amphitheater by 6:10pm dressed in full costume (including make-up, tights, shoes, etc.). Sunday, August 20, 2017 Students from The Green Room Dance Studio perform at 4:10pm at the Riverside Park Amphitheater. Students should arrive at the Amphitheater by 3:50pm dressed in full costume (including make-up, tights, shoes, etc.) BORROWED COSTUMES If you are borrowing a costume, please take EXTRA CARE with this costume. This costume belongs to someone else and they were kind enough to let you borrow it for the performance. The costume should be returned in the EXACT condition it was given to you. There is NO EATING OR DRINKING in ANY costumes and no activities that might result in stains. If any damage is done or any piece is lost, you will be expected to monetarily repay them. Younger children may come in the borrowed costumes, but please bring a change of clothes, as NO BORROWED COSTUMES will be worn home from Riverboat Days! Following the performance, any

4 students wearing a borrowed costume MUST change into regular clothes and give the borrowed costume to the designated studio employee (Bev, Sherry or Anne) BEFORE leaving the park. We request that the costume be returned in the exact manner it was given, for example, on the same hanger and same bags with names on them. How you are handed the costume is how you should hand it back. This is extremely important, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET! No borrowed costumes will be handed out until the Costume Rental Fee is paid in full. Tuition for 2017 is due in full by August 14, If you have any questions regarding your account, feel free to call the studio. We need parents to help supervise the students during the Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20 Riverboat Days performances. Each group should have at least two adults supervising. If you are able and willing, please sign up at the front desk at the studio. If you didn t have the opportunity to supervise a group during the spring recitals, please consider helping at the Riverboat Days Performances. If everyone would take a turn supervising a group, we can all enjoy being an audience member! Thank you for all your cooperation and support!

We have enjoyed working with each of your children over this past year and summer and hope we have the opportunity to continue educating them in the art of dance!
