1 TANZANIA CRICKET ASSOCIATION DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY REPORT JULY - SEPT 2016 UNDER 19 WORLD CUP QUALIFIER DIV 2 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier Division 2 for Africa region was held in South Africa Benoni from 10/09/2016 to 19/09/2016. U19 DIV 2 AFRICA The tournament was played in a round robin format. The team with highest points on the table was declared the winner. Ghana being on top of the point table emerged winners of the U19 Div 2 Africa qualifiers, followed by Botswana runner's up. Nigeria came in the 3rd position with sierra lea one settling for the 4th position. Zambia took the 5th position followed by Tanzania in the 6th position and Rwanda in the 7th position. BEGINNERS COURSE MOROGORO Tanzania cricket association organized a beginner s coaching course in Morogoro for 16 candidates on the 27 th to 29 th July The seminar was conducted by Hamisi Abdallah and assisted by Khalil Rehemtullah. The aim of this course was to educate the coaches who are allocated in Morogoro region about the basic fundamental principles of batting, bowling and fielding. On the last day of the

2 course all the candidates who attended the course did a theory and practical exams. LEVEL I COUSE ARUSHA A successful level 1 cricket coaching course was conducted at Makumbusho Primary School. The course was conducted by Hamisi Abdallah and assisted by Khalil Rehemtullah together. The Course was held from 25 th to 27 th September 2016 with a total of 14 sports teachers from different schools in Arusha region. In this three day coaching course we all the basic aspects of the game including the basic laws and fundamental principles of batting/ bowling were covered. Fielding was held in practical sessions and on the last day a written exam was given to all the candidates who attended the course.

3 CHANZO CRICKET MOROGORO The TCA development committee organized a Two day chanzo cricket tournament of a modified game for juniors in Morogoro Regional played at the Sua ground on the 30 th to 31 July A total of 56 primary school team i.e. 32 Boy s team and 24 Girls team participated in the tournament as the Association s mass participation dev program. Transport, T-shirts, Lunch, water and drinks was provided by the association to all the participating teams. In the boy s side Misufini (B) emerged winners and in the girl s side Mwere (A) emerged winners. CHANZO CRICKET ARUSHA A similar tournament was organized by the Association in Arusha region for both genders on the 27 th to 28 th August 2016 at the Gym Khan Cricket ground. Arusha is one of the developing region with a total of 64 teams in the chanzo cricket 32 teams in the boys side and 32 in the girl s side. For both the events the Association provided the youths with transport, T-Shirts, lunch, water, juice and trophies. In Arusha the boy s side Kaloleni (A) emerged winners and in the girl s side Engira (B) emerged winners.

4 REGIONAL TOURNAMENT DSM National regional one day and T20 tournament for Under 19 boy s was organized by the Tanzania Cricket Association played in DSM at Annadil and UDSM ground from 5 th to 8 th Aug 2016, in a round robin format. Teams that participated where Arusha Development, Uluguru stars, Tca academy and Dar Combine. In one day Dar Combine emerged the winner of the event. Whereby in the T20 Tca Academy managed to defeat Dar combine to be on the top of the table colleting 5 points in their kitty to emerged winners. In one day match Husseni husaifa was awarded the best all rounder trophy, and Ally Chombo became the best bowler, while Husseni husaifa settled for the the best batter award. In the T20 match event Umang Chohan was awarded the best all rounder trophy, and Aaryan premji was the best bower, while Umang Chohan settled for the best batter award.
