3 Women s Bowls NSW President s Welcome Women s Bowls NSW warmly welcomes everyone to the 2018 State Championships. Congratulations to all participants who have travelled from the far corners of the State to play their best bowls and make names for themselves. We here at WBNSW sincerely hope you play to the best of your ability and that we see some thrilling finals games. Particular thanks to Taren Point Bowling Club, our wonderful host venue, who do a marvelous job supporting and promoting bowls as a sport. And their volunteers and staff are second to none so a big thank you to them as well. We could not run our State Championships without showing our appreciation to our Directors, staff, Match Committee and Umpires for giving up their time to work on this event both in the lead up and during our 9-day visit to the Sutherland Shire. We hope the sun shines, the greens run true, memories are made, and the luck is shared. 4 2018 WOMEN S BOWLS NSW CHAMPIONSHIPS ~ TAREN POINT BOWLING CLUB ~ CONDITIONS OF PLAY REGIONAL WINNERS 2018 KNOCKOUT PRINCIPLE SINGLES, OPEN & SENIOR PAIRS, TRIPLES, OPEN & SENIOR FOURS Refer to individual draws for times. All pm games will start at approximately 1.00 pm Singles: Monday 3 rd & Tuesday 4 th September 2018 Open & Senior Pairs: Wednesday 5 th & Thursday 6 th September 2018 Open & Senior Fours: Friday 7 th & Saturday 8 th September 2018 Mixed Pairs: Sunday 9 th September 2018 Triples: Monday 10 th & Tuesday 11 th September 2018 All matches to be played under the Laws of the Sport of Bowls and Women s Bowls NSW Conditions of Play Play will commence at times listed on the top of each discipline draw. Two (2) trial ends are permissible before play. Dead ends do not count and must be replayed. Senior Pairs 3 bowls pairs, 18 ends. No dead ends jack re-spotted on T. Winners of AM matches will play again at PM. All Markers for the Singles will be organised by Taren Point Bowling Club, in conjunction with Women s Bowls NSW. Shots in excess of 25 in singles matches will not be counted. During knockout play, there should be no further play in a game, if at any point it becomes impossible for one team to win the game, given the number of ends left. In case of a draw and extra end must be played to get a winner. Lunch will be provided for AM and PM players and must be paid for whether partaken of or not - $20 per player. This amount covers Morning Tea, Lunch & Green Fees. Any special dietary requirements should be advised to Taren Point Club Secretary Barbara Holden prior to the event. Markers lunches will be paid by Women s Bowls NSW. The controlling body reserves the right to amend conditions to bring the Championships to a successful conclusion.
