Welcome and apologies Meeting opened 10am Monique Smith (RC) in the chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Meeting notes: Donna Harrison Apologies as noted above. 2. Hunter Academy of Sport RC introduced Karen Turner (HAS Finance Manager/Acting CEO), Angela Samuels (Netball Program Manager) and Adele Saunders (Netball Umpire Program) Karen gave update on Ken Clifford s health and confirmed new CEO Brett O Farrell. Brett has a strong strategic plan for HAS. Karen acknowledged the strength of the Netball program and excellent support received from Netball NSW. Angela Samuels presented a report prepared by Maria Hoad (Head Coach) for the Hunter Academy of Sport Netball Program to date. Particular notes: Change in age group to 14yrs, 15yrs and 16yrs.

2 Block 1 Inter Academy Camp held at Bathurst and April Academy Games at Central Coast Block 2 strength and conditioning and visit to Victoria 143 players trialled, 24 selected As per recent times, all sessions are open to all coaches to observe. Sessions at The Forum, Newcastle University. Printed calendar handed out. Next pathway is Metro State League where Newcastle has a team entered. Maria thanked everyone involved for their continued support of the Program. Adele Saunders presented her report on the Netball Umpire Program, now in its 6 th year has a smaller number of umpires (7), however are an enthusiastic group. Umpires have been attending player training sessions. Dell would like to see some older umpires nominate for the HAS Netball Umpire Program in the future. Academy umpires will umpire at Hunter State League, however, cannot play rep and umpire. 4. Sport Development Opportunities 2015 RC highlighted a busy but exciting year ahead and presented a summary of Netball Development for the Hunter Region 2015, namely: Summer Shootout currently underway at Netball Central with Official opening yesterday. Metro State League commences this week. Hunter Region 2015 paper Calendar handed out to refer to. Coach Development 2015: Coaching courses/workshops confirmed within region - Foundation, Development, Intermediate Coaching Courses, Dare to Develop a Diamond and workshops ($35 p/p, paper registration, min participant number is 15) and Coach on Court grant approved workshops. Unfortunately Singleton FCC (15 th Feb) cancelled due to low registrations). All Associations encouraged to attend any courses and workshops scheduled. RC confirmed registration process for courses/workshops both through NNSW Online store and through Netball Australia and stressed importance of Pre Requisites being met. Common sense will apply to NNSW registration (membership) till 30 th April. Any questions please contact RC. RC to out current Hunter Region Calendar 2015 (with recently added dates) and paper registration forms for DTDD 11-13yrs and DTDD 14-16yrs Before with Meeting notes or Umpire Development 2015 C and B Camps 7 & 8 th March and 14 & 15 th March. RC encouraged any umpires interested to attend on these dates even though clashes with HSL rounds 1 & 2, as umpire duties will be covered for those two days. Intention to attend camps must be indicated on Umpire nomination forms. Umpires wishing to umpire at Metro State League to contact Jan Simpson and be available on Monday or Tuesday. Level 1 Umpire course now online $25. Bench Officials Course also online and Free via the Netball Australia website. Umpire on Court workshops confirmed.

3 Community Toolkit for umpires should be available to all Associations in March Association role in umpire development is to encourage umpires to go online for Section 1 Exam and Level 1 and Associations/clubs provide practical support. Community Toolkit will be great resource. Netball NSW School Holiday Clinic dates confirmed for Netball NSW Schools Cup hosts are Charlestown, Newcastle, Singleton, Gosford and Maitland will host Regional Finals. Netball World Cup August, 2015 RC wished everyone well with upcoming Association competitions and happy to take any ideas and assist to progress them. 6. MyNetball Discussion re: ease/no ease of use and whether Gateway was up and running. Confirmed was working Friday night. Generally all going well. A concern re Privacy with what information from other Associations can be accessed by all NSW Associations. Woy Woy having MyNetball Training 11am, 21 st February. Working with Children Check was discussed re non playing members not in a club need to be entered with a club so they can be added to MyNetball. Suggestion to take a screen shot as proof of registration. Question: can MyNetball pull a report of WWCC members? Reminder that all coaches and umpires must be Registered members of NNSW. Encourage regular Managers of teams to be non-playing members also. RC to follow up RC to check 7. NetSetGo! RC handed out NetSetGo Centre Registration process to all to refer to. RC talked through a recent sent to all secretaries re the new process for NetSetGo! In particular noted: Register as a Centre, await approval; set up own info via template. Keep in mind cut off dates as this triggers pack orders. If late registrations, proceed as per paper registration process of 2014 at this point. Shirt style and colour shown to all by RC and agreed looked great. RC happy to take calls re questions on new process etc in lieu of phoning C Waite in Sydney. 8.Hunter State League 2015 Game times: 2 x 15minutes. 2,3,2 breaks with 3 minutes between games. First game will be 2.30pm. Finals first games at 9.30am. Games will be 4 x 15 minutes for finals. RC to confirm available court numbers with Host Associations as soon as possible. RC opened up for host Association volunteers to assist on the day in office if available. Regional Allocations Panel Umpires - Adele Saunders (Newcastle NA) accepted role of Head of Allocations. Ngaio Stobbs (Maitland NA), Ellen Monaghan (Newcastle NA) and Jodi Cassar (Port Stephens) applied and RC will out request for court numbers and volunteers RC to set up meeting of Panel

4 were accepted to assist on the Panel and form this panel together with RC. Responsibilities and aims of panel to be discussed in due course amongst panel. 42 Team entries received and proposed grading as follows: DIV 1 (8 teams) Charlestown Opens Newcastle 21s Lakeside 17 s Newcastle 17s Maitland Opens Scone Opens Wyong 21s Nelson Bay Open RC to review grading as team lists come in and confirm final grading via to all Association Secretaries. It is also noted that some Associations are still to confirm teams after trials this coming week and next. RC will all associations to indicate an extension to getting this paperwork in. RC to out due dates for paperwork In next few days Reminder: All players and Umpires must be Registered Members of NNSW before taking part in Hunter State League. Players who need to be transferred from another Association to the Association they will play State League for, must be transferred on My Netball, by the Association entering the team, by the due date set by the RC. Aim is to continue to run a professional Regional State League competition. Namely: Protocols for teams and umpires Late Registrations and De Registrations must be administered via the RC prior to Players taking the court No Exceptions. Lanyards will be provided for Primary carers, Coach, Assist Coach and Managers. A team information document will be provided as in previous years to all teams and umpires. Managers and umpires will meet before games on Day 1 to go over expectations and processes for during tournament. RC to provide one at least one week prior to competition. 12yrs & 13yrs rep gala days Charlestown reported good entry numbers for 12 and 13s competition running alongside Hunter State League. Entries to Dianne Pascoe. Games at first three rounds of HSL where venues courts and lights allow. RC made suggestion that all personnel to do with these teams liaise with Dianne Pascoe on competition day. 9. General Business: RC congratulated Amber Cross on her selection as Apprentice Coach to the NSW Swifts for General Sports Grant Course at Ourimbah campus of Newcastle Uni. Tuesday 10 th Feb 6-9pm. $66. Presenter Keith Whelan. Handouts provided. RC congratulated Singleton NA on receiving final $$ for their new clubhouse. Building to begin Monday after Grand Final Day. Current building to be demolished and rebuild will be double size of existing footprint.

6 Muswellbrook Clubhouse would like to hold an event. Carnival date not going to work as same as Lakeside, so looking at possible Fast 5 competition for Hunter Region later in year. Muswellbrook will confirm idea after their meeting this Wednesday and send out details. Westlakes extension of canteen grant received. Looking at adding onto canal side of current building. Build after winter comp Questioned fit bracelets. Response was deemed to be Jewellery/adornment and should not be worn. Wow Woy PNA advised Central Coast has a Franchise position for Premier League. Kurri Kurri NA advised they have a club affiliated with them called KKNA Hunter Flyers, 2 teams have been entered into Metro State League. Div 6 & 8 and a third team to compete in a side competition to Metro State League set up by Nathan. There was concern raised with use of name Hunter Flyers without approval of Regional Associations. Port Stephens: Michelle Archer standing down as President. Jodie Cassar standing unopposed. Thanked Region for continued support during Netball Career. Adele Saunders responded on behalf of those present to thank Michelle for her long contribution. RC thanked all for attending. 10.
