2 2 The T Oilers is published 11 times a year by the Puget Sound Chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America. The club is dedicated to the preservation, restoration, and use of Model T Fords by antique fans everywhere. Club dues are $18.00 for the calendar year and include a subscription to the T Oilers. The club will gladly exchange papers with other clubs on a reciprocal basis. Display ads cost $10.00 a year for card size. All messages and articles including for sale and wanted must be submitted by the 10th of each month. For sale and want ads are free to members. Please support our advertisers. Members are encouraged to join the National MTFCA and receive the Vintage Ford for $35.00 at the address listed below. 3 3 January President s Report With the hustle and bustle of the Holidays behind us, we can now get going with the New Year. Last year went quite fast. As I was sitting in my chair reflecting back on the year, I realized we lost some real outstanding members. They will be missed by not only the Club but by family and other friends they had. Their contributions over the years, not only to the Club, but to who ever they were in contact with will be greatly missed. It sounds like we are going to have a great party at our next meeting. Thanks to Mike and Donna for taking the bull by the horns and putting it together. We have a lot of members who have put in a lot of their free time, effort and even their own money to support the Club with tours, parties and helping out with getting folks T s runniing. This is why we have such a great Club and I really enjoy doing what I can to support our Club. We have had a lot of new members join and over the last few meetings they were greeted and when I spoke with some of them they said they felt very comfortable and welcomed at the meetings. I know some of them need help with getting their T s running so they can tour with us this summer, and I know that with all the knowledge we have within the Club, they will be joining us on the tours. Hope to see everyone at the Crazy Hat Party coming up this month. Let s have a record turnout and let s get our RSVP s in and have a great time. If you are getting the newsletter via and can live without a paper copy, please contact Walt at wberdan@comcast.net so we can save the printing expense. We have lost our low cost color printing option. It s been a great ride as Ray Moore has been able to print our newsletters for less than black and white copies at Kinko's prices. Now we need to pay retail copy / printing prices so I will be producing the newsletter in color for and web delivery but the paper copies will be printed in black and white. Black and white copies cost the club about $1.50 each including postage.

4 4 ANNUAL MODEL T PARTY Where else can you invest $15 to $18 yearly dues and reap $20 cash in return? That is what our Puget Sound Chapter is doing on January 28 th. Our annual party (formerly the Christmas Party, then the Appreciation Party, then the Valentine's Party) has a new theme for this year. We are all going to become just a bit more crazy than usual. We are hoping you will feel creative and want to wear a crazy hat. It can be purchased or found at a garage sale or thrift store or be a concoction created just by you. We will have a contest for THE PEO- PLE'S CHOICE and that person's full meal will be paid for by the club. The full price of the party would normally be $25, which includes an appetizer, the meal, a mini dessert, a beverage, the taxes, and the gratuity. Entertainment will be presented by Singing Sue, who is not only a good singer but a bit crazy, too. Each member and spouse will only have to pay $15 each, though other guests will need to pay the full $25. We will meet at an upper-class restaurant, Hector's, in Kirkland (mid-point between the north and south contingencies.) Though parking is often a problem in Kirkland because of its waterfront location, the restaurant has its own parking lot located in back at no cost to patrons. Take I-405 to the Kirkland/85 th St. NE exit (85 th becomes Central Way), go west to Main St., turn left. Go 2+ short blocks to parking lot which is behind Hector's. (Actually, Hector's is just past Kirkland Ave, on the east side of the street of Lake Street.) If the lot is full, the city has two parking lots with 3-hour free parking during the day (one block north of Hector's and/or one block west down by the lake. There is also a 4-hour parking lot under the library if you come pass it. (See the map on the back cover of this T Oilers.) Come join the fun, but please make sure you RSVP by January 21 st so that we can reserve enough food and room: Mike/Donna or Larry Mann
