6 Bv Maiden Erlegh Success & News Sadly at the end of last term we said good bye to Mr Bryant, but thankfully not for good! At Christmas, he embarked upon a once in a life time trip to travel the world. We are incredibly lucky that he has chosen to come back to Maiden Erlegh in July upon completing his travels. We would like to wish him the best, we sure will miss him! We would also like to welcome Mr Fisher to the PE department, who will be filling in for Mr Bryant until he returns. Congratulations to former Maiden Erlegh student Tom McIntyre who made his debut for the Reading FC first team recently away at Rotherham United! He put in a fantastic performance, even though he fractured his eye socket 10 minutes into the game, playing on and completing the full 90 minutes! He recently underwent surgery for this. We wish him the very best with his recovery and look forward to seeing him pulling the Reading jersey on again in the not too distant future. Well done to Year 9 Victoria Maxwell who was recently moved up from the Berkshire Satellite netball club to the Berkshire county team She represented them in the first Surrey Storm County Play Day and played really well. Vicky is a dedicated GCSE PE student as well as a keen sportswoman and has been a vital member of the Maiden Erlegh netball, basketball, hockey and football teams already during her time at Maiden Erlegh
7 I Former Maiden Erlegh PE teacher Mr Watson appeared for the Corinthian Casuals football team recently. Who can tell us why they are such an interesting and important part of English sports history? A Level students we are looking at you!
