2 A New Chronicler Greetings, friends. My name is Alice, and I m happy to help out my Barony as new Chronicler of Caer Mear. Lady Gytha has done a fantastic job on the QD in the past, so from the bottom of our hearts let s thank her for her hard work. Thank you, Lady Gytha! In the interest of total transparency, I ve an eye to transition someone else into this position in the future given my excessive mundane workload! A Call for Knowledge Everyone in the SCA has a niche interest that calls to them. Maybe you re a fighter, a dancer, a scribe, a bard, a writer, a garb maker, a wood worker, or just an SCA old hat with a lot of general knowledge to share. It might seem like news to you, because you are already so knowledgable on your favorite topic - but guess what? Other SCAdians would love to learn about it! If you d like to teach a class at Tuesday night Arts and Sciences / Fighter Practice, please get in touch with Lady Brianna.

Patrick's Perspective on Pennsic I was fortunate once again this year to be able to attend Pennsic for both weeks. Below are my impressions as a lowly squire from a great household.

3 Patrick's Perspective on Pennsic I was fortunate once again this year to be able to attend Pennsic for both weeks. Below are my impressions as a lowly squire from a great household. Land grab for busy as usual maybe even more so as we had fewer bodies to get things done. By Sunday most of the major chores were done. Then the rains came. It wasn t too bad up in the highland. However, other camps did not fare as well. Gravel and trenching could not hold back the tides. I didn t leave camp much during peace week since there were still a lot of works to do so my report on it is reduced to the weather. War week for us at the hotel started Sunday with the champions battle. They were hard fought and great fun. The sun came out and shined for the knighting of Dietrich von Stroheim. A most worthy man I am proud to call friend. Mondays schedule was full with the Squires,Mooselodge,10-man,and field battles. It became known by some of us Hell day. It was a long hard fought day. At one point during the field battle, Sir Bryce and I found ourselves alone against an entire unit. So we did the only thing we could. Laugh and thank St. Sensuous for a target rich environment. Due to unsafe conditions because of the rain, the woods was cancelled Tuesday and replaced with the bridge battle. Atlantia fought on the far bridge near the road. King Williams s army dominated and I was proud to be count as one of them. Wednesday was the Crusaders vs Saracens Battles run by Sir Bryce this year. We had a great turnout and it pleasure to Marshal and see the work that went into many of the kits. Thursday we fought in a unique and fun ruins battle. I hope to see this scenario again. However, the highlight of the day was seeing the hardworking Baron Ursus receive his Pelican in court. After the Castle battle Friday, we began the trials of tear down.
