4 Loughmore-Castleiney Loughmore Castieiney have dominated Mid Tipperary football for over a decade, but it was only in 1973 they emerged as a footballing force, winning their sixth county fina l by de feating Ardfinnan. In 1975 they were beaten in the county final by Kilruane and they fell by the wayside in the semi-final last year. They won county under-21 titles in '74 and '76 when they defeated Galtee Rovers, and it is the tcams that were successful then that form the backbone of the present side. They won county minor hurling and minor football championships last year. The club has in recent years distinguished itself in under' age competition, winning literally all before it, and it now hopes to continue its winning way at senior level. Club officers are: President, Fr. O'Rourke, c.c.; Chairman, Pat Cullen; Secretary, Tom McGrath; Treasurer, Eddie Webster; Selectors, Pat Cullen, Pat Kiely, Robert Webster, Sean Mockler, Ml. O'Connell; Trainer, Tommy Egan. Caltee Rovers-St. Pecaun The champions, Galtee Rovers, from the parish of Bansha, has a strong footballing tradition, and in the late forties and early fifties enjoyed its most successful period, when they played in four county finals from 1949 to 1952, winning two, The present team has been together for some years, distinguishing themselves in under-age competition, and club mentors are confident that another " Golden Era" is on the way. Club oflicers are: President, Thomas Fanning; Chairman, John Moloney; Secretary, John Kildune; Treasurer, Eddie McCarthy; Vice-chairmen, Jim Galaher, Paddy Fanning. The Galtee Rovers club has in recent years emerged as a footballing force in Tipperary, and its teams have won acclaim for their open and skillful football. We look forward to seeing them in action, and wish them well.

9 THE REPLAY It is not often that we have replays in the county senior hurling final. Kilruane were involved in one with Moneygall two years ago, but onc has then to go back to 1965 for the previous replay to thai, when Sarsfields defeated Carrick Davins after drawing in CIon mel. Replays seldom measure up to the drawn game, but there arc always exceptions, and to-day's encounter, we hope. will be onc of these exceptions. It will be the fourth meeting between the clubs this year, and with the record standing at onc win, one draw, and one defeat each, everything hinges on Sunday's game. Following last Sunday's great win over Kilkenny Tipperary followers will be taking a keen interest in the performances of the men on view, hoping to see talent to supplement that which did so well last week. Certainly both Kilruane and Borrisoleigh abound with county material. To pick a winner to-day is an invidious task. Kilruane will be seeking a first senior title to add to the many they have won in under-age competi tion, and their side is largely composed of the lads who won their four county under-21 titles in-a-row. Borrisoleigh, bristling with inter-county men, are hoping for a return to the good-days they enjoyed in the early fifties, and believe that they have the squad to do so. Whatever the outcome, Tipperary will have worthy champions, and fitting representatives in the All-Ireland Club Championship.
10 Our Referees lohn Moloney. referee of the senior hurling replay, needs no introduction to G.A.A. followers, and another man quickly establishing himself as a top-class referee is Cion mel's Liam Carroll. Like John. Liam is an able administrator, and gives a great deal of time to the care of juvenile members of his own St. Mary's club, of which he is also a playing member. His judgment of players' ability was put to good use last yea r, when he was onc of the three selectors who brought All Ireland minor hurling honours to Tipperary. Referees like John and Liam do Tipperary proud every time they take charge of a game and we look forward to seeing them in action to-day and in the Cuture.
