1 Crosby s Seafood Company Current Market notes and for the week of Majority of the local fishing fleet are waiting for the weather to break. Most of the fleet is planning on heading out Friday or Saturday at the latest. Fishing Vessels (F/V) The local F/V Game On is at dock waiting for the weather to pass. The local F/V Charleston Star is still on a much needed break for their crew. They are expected to leave dock mid-week next week. The local F/V Ellen Jean just landed at dock today with Local Sword fish from a 3 day trip. They are expected to head back out tomorrow and will be due back in Sunday or Monday. The local F/V Still Fishing is at dock waiting for the weather to break. The local F/V Bonsai have completed their minor repairs and is anxiously waiting for the weather to break to get back out. The Local F/V Seahawk is at dock waiting for the weather to break. The local F/V China Girl is still undergoing extensive repairs. The repairs, at this point, are not expected to be completed until mid-december. The local F/V Miss Jane is at dock waiting for the weather to break. The local F/V Oxbow just landed yesterday with a shipment of local Wreck fish. They are expected to head back out first of the week. Notes Plenty of stunning Local Sushi grade Swordfish, Wreck fish, and Flounder in house. Local Trigger fish season closed 11/06 and American Red Snapper closed 11/07. In addition to those closures, Local Vermillion Snapper (a.k.a. B-liners) had a catch weight reduction down to 500 lbs. per vessel. The weight reduction has made the snapper fishing significantly less profitable for the local fishermen thus decreasing ambition and production. Due to lack of local fishing production as well as some species closures, we will be bringing in Caribbean Red snapper and Yellow Tail Snapper, both of mixed sizes, out of Florida. The East Coast Halibut have remained steadily available and the quality of the fish has been exquisite. More Wild caught Spot tail Bass (Red- Drum) are in from North Carolina at an average weight of 3-8 lbs. Sushi Grade Norwegian and Faroe Island Salmon are both in and prices have maintained a consistent rate. For all St. Helena Salt SC oyster and Devil Shoals NC oysters customers, they have been selling out as fast we can bring them in, as a result we are asking for all orders to be placed by Friday for the following Wednesday to help us ensure we can accommodate all inventory needs. We are bringing in more Red, Black, and Scamp Grouper from Florida to have a sufficient supply of grouper on hand. PDF processed with CutePDF evaluation edition
2 The local shrimp production has slowed down significantly. Majority of the shrimping fleet are waiting for the weather to break to get back out shrimping. We are hoping to see more local production by mid-week next week, however we do have a surplus of house frozen local shrimp in 5 lb. bags on hand. Plenty of P.E.I. Mussels, Clams, and Fancy Fresh Sea Scallops available with shipments coming in 3 times a week to ensure the up most quality. Local North Carolina handpicked fresh crabmeat Lump, Jumbo Lump, and Claw have all been coming in 3 times a week to ensure strictly the up most quality. We currently have a wide selection of assorted Oysters from Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Canada. Here is a great way to stay up to date with all the latest landing percentages, openings, and closures. It will provide you with a better understanding of what species are open in our local fishery and what these Local Boats will be able to target.
