2 Subject to the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland Act 1971 and the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Association the following regulations shall apply to Pisciculture. REGULATIONS Each exhibit will be displayed in a rectangular aquarium to be provided by the Exhibitor. Aquaria shall be of the size stated in the relevant sections. Sizes other than stated will not be accepted. Each aquarium shall be covered with either glass or gauze. A base board the length and breadth of the aquarium and 12mm thick must also be supplied. Both items will be supplied by the Exhibitor. A compressor and main aeration line will be provided. The Exhibitors shall supply their own aeration fittings as required. 4. All fish in each entry will be judged and the judge will select the best specimen for the award. Fish will be judged under the recognised points system of the FBAS. 5. All exhibits will be under the control of the Stewards of the section. This also includes the feeding of the fish. Exhibitors may feed their exhibits by arrangement with the Steward. Exhibitors wishing to alter their display or remove their aquarium may only do so with the consent of the Honorary Council Steward. For further information on feeding and aquaria arrangements contact Mr Bill Smith Honorary Council Steward, on Aquaria may be delivered to the Showgrounds on Saturday 6 August and Sunday 7 August 2011 between 8.00am and 5.00pm. AQUARIA WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. Exhibits may be introduced on Monday 8 August or Tuesday 9 August 2011 between 5.00pm and 9.00pm. 7. Exhibitors are not to make any alterations to their displays after 9.00pm on Tuesday 9 August 201 All exhibits will be judged on Wednesday evening 10 August Entries in Most Popular Exhibit must be the same as at the time of Judging. No alterations or additions can be made. 9. Lighting can only be supplied by the RNA. No additional or special lighting can be used. 10. All heaters to be supplied by the Exhibitors and must be approved by the Department of Mines and Energy except in the case of Marine Exhibits where heaters will be supplied by the Association. 1 Exhibits must be removed from the section on Sunday 21 August 2011 between 8.00am and 100pm. 1 Each entry of fish or plants may be entered in one class only. 1 Exhibitors must advise the Honorary Council Steward of any withdrawals on or before Saturday 23 July 2011 on The exhibitor irrevocably consents to the RNA publishing or reproducing in any manner whatsoever any particulars or information in relation to their exhibits; the publication or reproduction may be in a printed form or visual image through electronic means and/or on the internet. WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 1995 The RNA Showgrounds are a designated workplace within the meaning of the Act and exhibitors/ competitors are required to ensure that they and all persons under their direction or control, including their contractors or sub-contractors, comply with all requirements of the Act and the RNA holds each exhibitor responsible to discharge its obligations to provide and maintain a safe place and system of work during occupation by the exhibitor/ competitor of any area of the RNA Showgrounds. Each exhibitor/competitor will assess the risk to themselves, staff, volunteers, family, other exhibitors, RNA staff, show visitors and any person forseeably affected by the presentation of their exhibit. Risks identified by exhibitors/competitors will be eliminated or controlled by the exhibitor/ competitor and particular attention will be paid to ensuring public safety and safety of other exhibitors/competitors. 4. Exhibits will only be handled by competent persons whose experience is known to the exhibitor/ competitor. 5. A No Smoking Policy will be strictly adhered to and policed by exhibitors/competitors and exhibitors/ competitors are advised that the use of Primus stoves, any heating or lighting appliances of a like character, or any naked light, is strictly prohibited in the horse stalls or pavilions. 6. Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showgrounds will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and currently tagged. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all power boards must be tested and tagged. 7. All exhibitors/competitors will comply with the requirements of the Act and its Regulations and Standards in every other respect. This is essential for the safety of all exhibitors, competitors and the general public. The Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of non-compliance with its provisions. Any exhibitors/competitors who do not comply will not be allowed to exhibit at the Royal Queensland Show. ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES The attention of intending exhibitors is drawn to the fact that entries are accepted subject to the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland Act 1971, and to the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Association, in addition to the regulations which appear in this schedule. Copies of the Rules and By-Laws may be obtained upon application to the Entries Department. NOTICE TO INTENDING EXHIBITORS Entries will only be received on the Entry Form enclosed with this Schedule. Entries submitted other than on the correct form will be returned to the Exhibitor and, unless all requirements are complied with and the forms returned to the office by 4.30pm on the Entry Form closing date as shown in the Schedule, they will not be considered. 2

The information provided by you in any application for membership or application to enter is used by the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) to offer member services or to organise and conduct competitions at the Royal Queensland Show. By applying for membership or entering such competitions you consent to provide such details as your name, address and exhibit details. Competition information may be made available to the media and included in RNA publications. Your information will not be disclosed without your consent for any other purpose unless required by the law. You may request access to your information and request that our records of that information be corrected by contacting our Privacy Officer or by writing to the RNA, Locked Bag 1010, ALBION QLD GOODS AND SERVICES TAX The RNA s ABN is ENTRY FORMS Exhibitors must complete Statement by Exhibitor section on the front page of the entry form advising their taxation status. PRIZE MONEY Prize Money stated in the Schedule excludes GST. GST will be added to the Prize Money for Exhibitors who are registered for GST purposes. The Association will provide a Recipient Created Tax Invoice to Exhibitors who are registered for GST purposes. 3
4 Aquaria size shall be 60cm long, from 30cm to 35cm high, and up to 45cm wide. In the case of Betta Splendens single aquaria will be used and for Killfish divided aquaria shall be used. 90cm aquaria may be used for large exhibits by arrangement with the Stewards. Exhibitors must indicate on the Entry Form if divided tank or large tank is being used. 4. Judging points for other classes except Class 15: Class 1 Class 2 A minimum or two fish per aquarium to be shown. In the case of large fish, 15cm or over, one fish is allowable. Aquaria size shall be 60cm long, from 30cm to 35cm high, exhibits by arrangement with Stewards. Exhibitors must indicate on the Entry Form if large tank is being used. Characteristics 20 Queensland Federation of Aquarium Societies Single Tail Varieties $90 sponsored by Queensland Federation of Aquarium Societies Queensland Federation of Aquarium Societies Any Other Variety Goldfish $90 sponsored by Queensland Federation of Aquarium Societies Class 3 Class 4 Class 5 Class 6 Class 7 Class 8 Platies and Swordtails Any Other Variety Livebearer Tetras, Rasboras or Danios Cat Fish Betta Splendens Any variety. Anabantids Any Variety Any species excluding Betta splendens. A minimum of size fish per aquarium to be shown, with the exception of aggressive or large fish where the minimum shall be two. In the case of large fish, 15cm or over, one fish is allowable. Please note Class 15 is a special class and is only for fish that measure in a 200mm total length or more, at the time of judging. This class will not have any points for size awarded, as we are trying to encourage people to show large but not necessarily full grown fish. Limited space will be available for 120cm long by 45cms wide Aquariums. Please indicate on the entry for size of tank. Approval of large tanks will be made in conjunction with the Honorary Council Steward. Entries in Class 15 are not eligible for Champion Fish of Show. Amphibians or Crustaceans Class 25 Class 26 All Aquascaped Terrariums and Aquariums must contain either live Fish/Animals. Planted Aquariums No artificial Rocks, Plants, backgrounds or palludariums allowed in this class. Scale of Points used in Judging: Fish 20 Plants and Rockwork 40 Design 20 Technique 20 Design and Technique A limit of six entries will be accepted. In the event of extra entries a draw will take place to pick the six competitors. All items for use in this class will be supplied to the competitors. Only these items will be allowed to be used. Therefore it is the skill of the competitor on trial. Scale of Points used in Judging: Design 50 Technique 50 Artificial plants are prohibited in Class 25 Class 24 Aquaria shall be 60cm long, from 30cm to 35cm high, and up to 45cm wide. 90cm aquaria may be used for large indicate on Entry Form if large tank is being used. Aquascaped Terrariums and Aquariums Backgrounds and palludariums allowed. Scale of Points used in Judging: Fish and Other Animals 20 Decor 40 Design 20 Technique 20 Points as above, with the following explanation: Fish and other Animals: In which is considered the selection, matching in size and quality of all the animal life exhibited, their degree of perfection and their relationship to each other. Exhibitors exhibiting fully grown animals will be given a points advantage, but where the size is disproportionate to the size of the container, a heavy points penalty will be incurred.
