3 COMMERCIAL CATTLE REGULATIONS 1. Exhibitors must complete the attached entry form and nomination form. Entries in pair class are not eligible for single class. 2. All exhibits in this section are to be polled or dehorned. In the case of dehorned exhibits, regrowth is permitted provided the horn is no longer than it is wide. 3. All Led Exhibits are to be Polled. 4. Animal has to be of quiet temperament or it is up to the stewards to refuse the animal for judging due to Work Place Health & Safety laws. 5. All exhibits should be free of ticks and buffalo fly. The Stewards have full control over the penning and submission for judging of all exhibits and reserve the right to transfer and/or reject any exhibit(s) not meeting the requirements of the class in which they are entered. 6. All exhibits must arrive on the grounds before 3.00pm on Wednesday 11th May It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to provide a current National Vendor Declaration and Waybill and a copy of the Nomination Form. 7. For Animal not for auction there is a fee of $25.00 per head on top of nomination fee. An eartag needs to be put in the animal s ear with NS written on it or the animal will be auctioned. 8. All animals are to have NLIS tags and where required, a National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme Delivery Docket. If NLIS tag is missing one will be fitted at a cost to the exhibitor. 9. All exhibits in classes 1 through 14 will have their NLIS tags read prior to penning. After penning, all exhibits in classes 1 through 14 will remain under the control of Stewards until they are handed over to the livestock agents for delivery. Stewards will take all reasonable care of the exhibits whilst under their control but will not be responsible for any injury or loss of exhibits or exhibitors property while such exhibits are under their control. 10. All exhibits will be mouthed by the stewards and animals will have coloured tape placed on their tails to indicate dentition as follows: No permanent teeth - No Tape No more than two permanent teeth - White Tape No more than four permanent teeth - Blue Tape No more than six permanent teeth - Green Tape The judge will use this information to make his selections. 11. In all classes the judge will be looking for yield, temperament & market suitability. If in his/her opinion any exhibit does not meet the criteria the judge may recommend to the stewards that any award be withheld. The Grand Champion Commercial Beast may be selected from any class excluding Led Classes. Prime Commercial Cattle Section 3 Gympie District Show

4 12. Only Pasture or Crop fed cattle may be exhibited in the Pasture fed classes. 13. All animals, grain assisted or silage fed must be entered in unrestricted feeding classes. 14. No disputes will be considered whilst the event is in progress. Any protest is to be lodged in writing after the event is completed and must be handed to the Secretary accompanied by a fee of $20.00 within one hour of the completion of the event. The Dispute Committee shall consist of three Committee Members of the Gympie Show Society. 15. At the completion of judging all exhibits in classes 2 to 14 May be submitted for sale by auction to commence around noon on Thursday 12th May 2016 or as decided by Stewards. Commission will be 5% with 2.5% retained by the Gympie Show Society. All exhibits will be offered for sale, cents per kg live weight. It is to be indicated on nomination form if any animal is not for auction - a fee of $25 must be paid on top of the nomination fee. 16. All prize monies are GST INCLUSIVE. Voucher & trophies will be presented with Ribbon at the conclusion of judging. 17. Water will be made available. 18. No dogs are permitted on the grounds unless they are fully restrained in a manner that prevents them from causing injury to any person. Exhibitors who do not control dogs will be disqualified from competing in all classes.
