4 XXII CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN GAMES VERACRUZ 2014 DATE AND PLACE OF COMPETITION The Golf competition at the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games will take place Wednesday, November 26th to Saturday, November 29th, 2014 at the Punta Tiburon Golf Club. EVENTS AND MEDALS The events announced for the Golf competition at the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games are: 4 Medals Gender Event Gold Silver Bronze Men s Individual Women s Individual Total medals 2 2 2

5 COMPETITION FORMAT This competition s format is based on the International Golf Federation s Regulations. The singles stroke play format will be used, playing 72 holes total, 18 holes per day. The player who has the lowest number of accumulated strokes at the end of the 72 holes will be the winner. In the event of a draw for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, there will be a Hole by Hole tiebreaker; the holes will be designated by the Competition Director. 5

7 MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORS In accordance to the quota set by CACSO, the Golf competition will have a maximum of 40 athletes, 20 men and 20 women distributed as follows: Each NOC may enter a maximum of 2 athletes, one per gender, as long as they comply with the qualification criteria for Golf for the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games, Veracruz VERACRUZ 2014 QUALIFICATION SYSTEM a) Athletes must comply with the following eligibility criteria: 1. Men s: 7 Professionals that can accredit their ranking in the Official World Ranking by Monday, July 28th, Professionals that can accredit having won at least one of the following professional tours: PGA Tour, Champions Tour, Web.com Tour, PGA Tour Canada, NEC Series Latinoamerica, European Tour, European Challenge Tour, European Senior Tour, Sunshine Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia, Asian Tour and/or Japan Golf Tour by Monday, July 28th, Women s: Amateurs that can accredit being ranked in the Men s World Amateur Golf Ranking by Monday, July 28th, Professionals that can accredit their ranking in the Rolex Women s World Golf Ranking by Monday, July 28th, 2014.

8 XXII CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN GAMES VERACRUZ 2014 Professionals that can accredit having won at least one of the following professional tours: LPGA Tour, Symetra Tour, Ladies European Tour, Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour, LPGA of Japan Tour, Korea LPGA Tour by Monday, July 28th, Amateurs that can accredit being ranked in the Women s World Amateur Golf Ranking by Monday, July 28th, b) To assign the 40 slots (20 per gender) the procedure will be as follows: 8 a) Mexico, as host country can directly qualify 2 men and 2 women. b) Each NOC must send the names of their male and female athletes to be entered in the Golf competition to the Mexican Golf Federation, the technical organism in charge of the competition, before Friday, August 15th, c) If after the process which will end August 15th, 2014, available slots still remain in either gender, the slots will be assigned by the FMG to the athletes that have the highest rankings in: Official World Golf Ranking Rolex Women s World Golf Ranking d) The FMG must send the Organizing Committee the final list of accepted athletes, to be published on Friday, August 29th, 2014 so as to allow the NOCs to officially enter their qualified athletes before the CACSO stipulated deadlines for entry by name and number. Qualification system approval This qualification system was approved by FMG May 15th, 2013.

9 TECHNICAL MEETING The Technical Meeting will take place Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 at the Central American and Caribbean Village at 16:00. Up to two representatives from each NOC will be able to assist this Technical Meeting. The invitation card for the Technical Meeting will be available to the Heads of Team at the Sports Information Center at the Central American and Caribbean Village in Xalapa upon their arrival. 9 The Technical Delegate and the Organizing Committee s Competition Manager for Golf will preside the meeting, which shall take place in Spanish and English. The Evacuation Protocol meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 at a time to be determined. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS The Mexican Golf Federation will provide all hired personnel for the Federation itself as well as the members of the National Regulations Committee that have accredited a score of 85 and over in their yearly Golf regulations exam at the disposal of the Organizing Committee.

10 XXII CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN GAMES VERACRUZ 2014 PROTESTS AND APPEALS The decisions made by the field rules referee is final and is not appealable. MEDAL CEREMONIES Awards ceremonies will take place according to CACSO s General Regulations, Chapter XIII. First place: Gold medal and diploma 10 Second place: Silver medal and diploma Third place: Bronze medal and diploma

11 COMPETITION VENUE The Golf competition will take place at the Punta Tiburon Golf Club which can be found on Km. 4.5 Carretera Federal Boca del Rio - Anton Lizardo, Col. La Matosa, Alvarado, Veracruz. 11
