16 COMPETITION RULES The following rules have been made by the men s committee to help the process of entering and playing in competitions and for the enjoyment of all competing members. 1) Entry is via the entry sheet posted on the members notice board, prior to the closing date which is approximately 2 weeks before the competition. Entry sheets will be posted approximately 8 weeks before the competition date. 2) Some major competitions require the entrant to have played in 3 qualiying competitions in the previous 12 months prior to entry. In these cases the fact will be shown on the competition entry sheet. 3) The draw will be made 2 weeks before the competition date. To be included therin an entrant must have paid their entry fee (enclosed within an envelope) into the entry box located in the clubhouse, before the closing date. 4) Once the competition draw sheet has been posted on the noticeboard: i) If a competitor becomes unable to play in the competition, he must notify the organisers as soon as possibe, so adjustments to the start sheet can be made. Entry fees are non refundable. ii) No changes will be made to a competitor s playing time or playing partners as shown on the competition draw sheet, except by the competition organisers. If a competitor wishes to make a change he must contact the competition organisers. Members are requested not to make such requests unless absolutely essential. 17 On the course DRESS CODE Players are requested to wear appropriate golf footwear. This footwear may be spiked or dimpled although soft spikes are recommended. Trainers or other shoes may not be worn. Smart casual dress is required at all times on the course. Tailored shorts are permitted (not more than two inches above the knee). The dress code for ladies is also smart casual. Tailored shorts, skirts or culottes may be worn. T-shirts, if sleeveless must have a collar. Bikini type tops are not permitted. Tops should be able to be tucked into waistband. In the Clubhouse Clean and tidy clothes must be worn in the clubhouse. The dress code in the club is smart casual. This precludes the wearing of denims, sport team colours, collarless or sleeveless shirts. Mobile Phones The use of mobile hpones can cause a nusiance to other people and must not be used for making or receiving calls on the course or in the clubhouse, except in the case of an emergency. Phones can be used for distance measurement as long as they do not breach other golf rules. Care of the Course Please repair pitch marks, spike marks and replace divots. If you hold up the group behind, let them through. 3) Watch where your partner hits their ball. If your own ball goes in the rough, play a provisional.
