1 CELEBRATING 23 YEARS OF SINGLES GOLF IN AMERICA Baltimore Chapter - American Singles Golf Association April 2015 Chapter News Our Golf Season - Finally Here Looks like we are going to have a great season this year. The enclosed schedule will be updated as more outings are scheduled. The cost includes our end of season prize contribution with one exception. On Sunday, May 17 th Patuxent Greens the DC Chapter will be joining us. We will be giving out prizes for the day and the $5 prize cost is included in the price listed on the schedule. Kathie Hiatt has generously offered to host dinner at her house afterwards. Kathie has been hosting dinner annually for us and it has always been a wonderful experience. She has invited the DC chapter as well this year and we are sure that the day and evening will be fun for all. Make time in your schedule for this event it is bound to be a day to remember. Please get your spot secured early for this event by sending your golf check to Kathie and letting her know if you plan on attending the dinner. On Sunday August 23 rd Annette McGuire will be hosting a Crab Feast following the Rocky Point outing. Make sure you don t miss the waterside fun at her home. The DC Chapter has a Spectacular Weekend Event planned for August 28 th August 30 th at Nemacolin Resort in Pennsylvania. (see the enclosed flyer). This looks like an event many of us would like to go to. It is within driving distance and the timing is perfect to be going North during the heat of August. So take note of the deadline date of April 30 th and get your Registration Form in ASAP. Ha Ha s If you think it's hard to meet new people, pick up the wrong ball on a golf course. The only problem with golf is that the slow groups are always in front of you and the fast groups are always behind you. When it comes to putters, try before you buy: Never buy a putter until you've had a chance to throw it. You can hit a 2-acre fairway 10-percent of the time, but hit a 2-inch branch 90- percent of the time. Golf is a game where the ball lies poorly and the golfers lie well. Q: What's the easiest shot in golf? A. Your fourth putt. Brand new golf balls are attracted to water, and the power of the attraction is in direct proportion to how much the balls cost. You are right if you are thinking August. ASGA-DC is planning a spectacular weekend event at the wonderful Nemacolin resort Situated on 2,000 acres, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort ( located approximately 185 miles from Washington, DC, in the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania, features 318 luxurious guestrooms, suites, townhouses and private luxury homes, including the Falling Rock boutique hotel, a recipient of the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards.
