We have received a record amount of snow in February causing a later date to start our golf season. This will have an impact on our revenues this year, but we are trying to offset the loss of early rounds with more outside play in the afternoons. Most of our Members like to play earlier in the day, so we will market our open tee times after 10:30am and encourage outside tournaments. We depend on approximately $250, in outside revenue to meet our budget each year without the need to increase dues. This is good to know prior to the start of the season and know we are doing our best to generate the revenues needed and protecting the earlier tee times for our Members. It will be important for you to book your tee times in advance and to notify the pro shop if you need to cancel your time. I am open to any of your marketing ideas to help make up for the snow delay when opening our golf course. Thank you for the continued donations for Carmen. Your heart felt donations for Carmen after the death of her husband and our Maintenance employee, Doug York have been greatly appreciated. With the house fire taking Doug s life and leaving Carmen homeless until the insurance money comes in, your amazing gifts have truly been a blessing for Carmen. Any donations for Carmen may be dropped off in the Administration Office. One-Time Opportunity for our Snowbirds. Terry is offering, for returning snowbirds, to plow out their driveways buried in snow. This is a one -time offer and based on availability. Also, our Maintenance crew has been plowing like crazy this past month. I am asking for a friendly wave or a thank you to our crew that would be much appreciated. Attention Snowbirds. I have two requests for our Snowbirds. 1. Please let Tracie know when you are back. Stop in to say hi, call, , or , tracie@golftwinlakes.com. 2. If you are requesting Terry to clear snow from your driveway, please give us the date you will be returning. We have received several requests and we want to try and clear your driveways in order of your return. You can call the Maintenance shop, Clearing the Greens, Not the Course. Terry and his crew have started clearing the greens from snow and ice this week. With the most ever snowfall in February, Terry has found up to 3 ½ inches of ice below the 4 feet of snow. Don t get too excited about seeing the greens as we still have plenty of snow on the golf course. We do have some damage on the greens due to the ice and we will be re-sodding where needed. Irrigation Ad Hoc Committee. As announced earlier, Board President Jack Hammond is forming an Irrigation Ad Hoc Committee. All those interested, please contact Jack or myself to be considered for the Committee. What Stinks?? You may notice a very unpleasant smell in the air throughout the Village. This smell is coming from the dead sod areas on the greens. We will have the dead sod removed shortly. Hitting Bay is now Closed. I hope you enjoyed having the Hitting Bay available to you this offseason. Quite a few of the members were able to get in some practice, meet CJ, and take a few lessons during our heavy snow season. The TLV Staff & Crew EMERGENCY PREPARENESS PLAN DEVELOPMENT PROGRESS As previously reported, the Board of Directors has accepted the Long Range Planning Committee's recommendation to authorize the establishment of a TLV Emergency Preparedness Committee. The Committee has recruited several resident volunteers and a draft Emergency Preparedness Plan has been created. The plan will be reviewed, edited and eventually presented to the BOD for acceptance and implementation. The plan is how to conduct the TLV Emergency Response if the Village has to manage the Response when the professional agencies are overwhelmed. This could include: completing damage assessments, directing traffic during evacuations, clearing road obstructions, first aid, etc.. The Committee will also assist the General Manager with training staff and implementation of the plan. Training for residents will consist of CPR/First Aid and Evacuation and Shelter in Place Preparedness. The FEMA Five P Evacuation Organization and Prioritization Program is for when evacuation is necessary. To Shelter In Place requires planning and preparation and could be necessary during prolonged periods of adverse weather, loss of electricity service, heavy snow fall or some other unusual natural event. There are numerous publications and assistance available from the Northern Lakes District Fire Protection District, American Red Cross, FEMA, and the Kootenai County Emergency Management. Help is available in the form of training classes, videos and preparedness seminars. If you would like to join in this effort and have interest or qualifications in law enforcement, fire department experience, medical, Incident Command, heavy industry and other allied fields contact Ron Jackson. The Committee will be working to have a plan in place by this season and to start development of the Emergency Response and Resident Training Program. Ron Jackson

Committee members have informed me this is the best part of being on the committee! We follow a strict rubric system. The essays are a huge part of the application. SCHOLARSHIP NEWS The Scholarship Committee had a record number of applications submitted this year. We have 21 seniors who Wish us luck in our endeavors in selecting the most qualified students.
