The N.M.L.R.A. is pleased to announce that we will be holding five match s at Camp Atterbury for This year we will be adding a mid-range match in May and an NRA Registered Regional Championship Match in August. The June and September match s are going to be held just prior to, and as a portion of, the N.M.L.R.A. s Spring Shoot and fall National Championship match s in Friendship Indiana. If you have wondered what happens shooting past 1000 yds. we also have the Joe Hepsworth Memorial Match being held at the end of July. It should be a great year of shooting with a little something for everyone. I hope to see you there.

2 General Match Information The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association requires any person participating in these match s to be a member of the association for our insurance purposes. Both participants and non-participants wishing to attend the match must contact the match director at least two weeks in advance of the match in order to be placed on a gate list for security clearances that the military requires for entrance into the facility. Camp Atterbury is a very active military training facility and as such your access while there is limited to going to and from the range. In addition please obey all posted speed limits while driving on base. Remember to bring anything you may require for your own personal comfort while you are at the range. Ice and water will be supplied. Rifles : Any safe original or reproduction muzzle loading or black powder cartridge rifle of.38 caliber or greater Sights: Original type Vernier and aperture or post front. Hadley eye cups O.K. Bullets: Lead only, plain base, grease groove or paper patch no gas checks Propellants: Black Powder only, no Pyrodex or substitute black powder, no smokeless, no duplex loadings Rifle Supports: Sling, wrist rest or cross sticks may be used at all ranges. A sling may be used with a wrist rest at distances over 600 yds. Course of Fire: Range conditions permitting, two yardages will be shot on the first day with the remaining yardage and awards to be presented on the second day. Match Times: Firing will commence at 9:00 a.m. or when range conditions permit. 20 minutes will be allowed between relays for equipment change. Time Limit for all fired relays: 60 minutes will be allowed for all sighting and record shots. Sighting Shots: Sighting shots are unlimited but the competitor must begin his scoring for record no later than his fifth shot after finding paper. The competitor may convert up to three ( 3 ) of his sighting shots in reverse order from his last

3 sighting shot. Richochets --- any hole made in the target will be scored as a hit. Targets: NRA standard targets will be used in all match s except at the Joe Hepsworth July match where a ten foot wide target frame will be used. Radios: The use of low power Talkabout personal radios is allowed for communication to the pit. N.R.A. firing commands will be used in the competition. No one shall load until the command commence loading and firing is given. Should a Cease Fire command be given in a relay, the shooter will make his rifle safe by removing the percussion cap and will remove it from the line. Upon returning to the line, an additional 5 minutes will be added to the total time of the relay and the shooter may have an extra sighting / warming shot. Jury : Jury for an event will consist of three (3 ) shooters appointed by the Match Director to settle any and all protests. Target Assignments: Four shooters will be assigned to each target. Shooters 1 and 2 will pair fire first. Shooter 3 will score and 4 will work target detail in the butts. When shooters 1 and 2 have completed their relay they will change exchange places with shooters 3 and 4. Competitors Responsibilities : All rifles must be in safe and in reliable shooting condition. Bullet weights and powder charges MUST be of weights and to insure being both competitive and safe to pit personel. I.E. at least.38 caliber and with a muzzle velocity of at least 1200 f.p.s. Further, the competitor will provide his own loading station, food, refreshments, transportation and any other items required for personal comfort. Match Fees: $45.00 for both days Range Location: Camp Atterbury ( Edinburg ), Indiana shooting ranges are located approximately 80 miles northwest of Friendship, 25 miles south of Indianapolis, Indiana. If coming in from I 65 exit on U.S.31 North to the 3 rd stop light. Turn left on

4 Hospital Road, travel to the stop light and turn left into the Main Gate. Lodging: On base lodging may be available on base on a limited basis if you qualify.
