2 ABOUT THE CAUSE The Child Abuse Prevention Center is dedicated to serving at-risk children and families with programs that prevent and break the generational cycle of child abuse. The need for our services is great, as this year we face the practical reality of families on our waitlist, desperate for our in-home services and parenting support. Now, more than ever, we need your support to help the children and families we serve in Orange County. The Child Abuse Registry in Orange County receives on average nearly 120 reports of child abuse per day. Your participation will help ensure that our programs reach all those who may benefit from our services and allow us to continue supporting the needs of our clients. By the Numbers Last year, $.93 cents of every dollar donated went directly to fund our programs. We have served more than 340,000 Orange County children and their parents since our founding in Last year, we helped 30,000 individuals and directly served and impacted 4,000 children & parents. In 2016, more than 48,000 instances of child abuse were reported to Orange County authorities. Nearly 30% of all child abuse reports involved children aged five and under based on 2016 statistics. Statistics show 30% of all abused and neglected children will eventually abuse their own children.
