This event is actually one of our most important championships, as it is the gateway to Europe's elite competitions. I congratulate all players for having earned the honour of representing their country. The European Golf Association is grateful to the Hungarian Golf Federation and to Pannonia Golf & Country Club for their hospitality and for being such loyal supporters of Europe's elite golfers. Etiquette, sportsmanship and civility form an integral part of the game of golf and I am sure that all competitors will live up to our expectations and enjoy a great week of friendly rivalry. 3 WELCOME LETTER FROM THE HOST UNION Message from the President of the Hungarian Golf Federation The Hungarian Golf Federation welcomes you all in Hungary! Pannónia Golf and Country Club is one of the most beautiful and challenging golf course in Hungary. It is situated in a picturesque wine region Etyek 40 km from Budapest. Hungarian golf celebrated its 100th Jubilee in Although the game of golf was forbidden from 1945 the Golf Federation was able to re-start its operation in Ever since we have been making great effort to restore the integrity, and the popularity of the game in Hungary. It is our pleasure to welcome the young competitors from all of the competing nations. We will do our best to organize a successful and remarkable European Team Championship. It is also our great honour to welcome the Representatives of the European Golf Association. This tournament is an indication to us how important the progress and development of golf is throughout Europe, especially now that golf has once again gained its rightful place in the Olympic Games. The team and the management of the hosting club Pannonia GC, together with the team of the Hungarian Golf Federation have done everything to ensure for the successful organizations of this championship. We hope that after the competitive and enjoyable days together there will be many fond memories of this event for all players and officials alike. 7 Venue Pannonia Golf & Country Club : H 8087 Máriavölgy, Hungary : info@golfpannonia.hu GPS: 47 43'04" N, 18 62'24" E : The golf club is situated approximately minutes drive away from the centre of Budapest. The Championship golf course is situated in beautiful surroundings bounded on one side by the Etyek wine region and on the other side by Alcsútdoboz, Máriavölgy. The Pannonia Golf & Country Club with its 18 holes of Championship golf was designed by the famous Austrian course designer Hans G. Erhardt. The golf course makes its way through a valley and with its well bunkered and sculptured fairways provides a great golfing experience. Lakes come into play on 8 holes and with its large undulating greens some challenging pin placements can be found. With its 6 different teeing areas it provides a true, fair test of golf for beginners and professionals alike. The natural environment, beauty and manicured course inspire you to hit great golf shots. The course was opened in 1996 and since its opening it has staged many international and national events including European Golf Association (EGA) sanctioned events (e.g. in the last three years International European Seniors Championship -2015, the Olympic Hopes Trophy, the European Boys Team Championship -2014, European Senior Men s Team Championship -2013). It provides enjoyment for all golfers from the beginner to the more experienced player. The Club can be easily approached from the M1 highway (Vienna to Budapest, or Budapest to Vienna), exit Bicske (39 km), towards Tatabánya (highroad Nr. 1). 9 OFFICIAL PRACTICE TEE TIMES The starting times for the practice round will be established by the Championship Committee and published on the EGA Championship webpage. One ball only may be played during practice rounds, with the following exceptions: a) If a player misses the green with his shot to the green, he may play one additional shot. b) Where the Rules of Golf apply (e.g. provisional ball). c) A player may practice putting, chipping or bunker play, provided play is not delayed. 8

10 Players should discontinue such practice immediately when the following group is waiting to play. Practice balls cannot be used on the championship course. Transportation: Players must not ride on any form of transportation during any part of an official practice round unless authorised by the Committee. Failure to respect this Practice Round regulations will result in the discontinuance of the practice round for the player in question. PRIZES Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the teams placed 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd, respectively. CATERING Buffet breakfast will be served at the official hotel from 7:00 (for early birds alternative possibility for breakfast) which is included in the accommodation fee. Breakfast will be also available at the club house from 7:00 (à la carte). A la carte lunch is available in the Golf Club s restaurant from 11:00. Dinner will be available at the club house or at the hotel from 18:30 to 21:30. DRESS CODE A reasonable standard of golf clothes (no jeans) is required at all times on the course and in the club house. Only soft spikes are permitted on the course. GOLF BAG STORAGE Golf bag storage will be available next to the club house. GOLF SHOP Golf shop with a limited range of golf equipment and clothing is located in the club house. INFORMATION CENTRE AND REGISTRATION The information centre is located at the reception in the club house of the Pannonia Golf & Country Club: Registration / Starting times / Results / General information. All teams must register no later than 12:00 on Tuesday, 18 September. 9

11 LOCKER-ROOM Locker-rooms are located in the club house. MEDICAL CERTIFICATE According to Hungarian law a Medical Certificate is required for all players entering an International Championship or National Competition in Hungary. Each player must return the enclosed Medical Certificate Form, duly completed by a Doctor, to the Hungarian Golf Federation till the registration of the Championship. TOURNAMENT AND RULES OFFICIALS The Tournament Office is located in Pannonia Golf & Country Club Club house. Rules Officials are appointed by the Hungarian Golf Federation. Chief Referee will be Mr Jakobi András. TROLLEYS Manual trolleys will be available. 12 CHAMPIONSHIP CONDITIONS: The Championship shall be played under the Rules of Golf as laid down by The R&A, the EGA Hard Card, Generic Conditions and EGA specific tournament conditions (all available here: as well as the local rules approved by the Championship Committee at the championship.
