5 Membership Requirements (Riders) Riders require Full ESNZ Annual Membership to enter any Registered Classes Introductory Riders or Riders not registered with ESNZ can compete in Introductory Classes (80cm & under for Ponies and 90cm & under for Horses) on an Introductory Membership or Casual Membership Day Start ($10 per day) Registration Requirements (Horses & Ponies) $5 ESNZ Jumping Levy is compulsory and is payable by all horses/ponies competing in Jumping and/or Show Hunter High Points and Equitation Series classes Full ESNZ Registration PLUS full Jumping Annual Start HOYQ (Horse of the Year Qualifier Classes) Full ESNZ Registration PLUS full Jumping Annual Start in order to be allocated HOYQ points Unregistered horses/ponies (or horses/ponies registered with ESNZ with no annual discipline start for SJ/SH can start using a Casual Jumping Levy of $20/ show. HOYQ points will not be allocated. (Note: $5 ESNZ Jumping Levy is also payable and the rider must be a full member with ESNZ). Entry Restrictions & Conditions Pony, Junior, Amateur, Adult classes for complete age and eligibility definition see SH rules on ESNZ website Ponies may only enter one height category (excludes Equitation) Entries will be restricted to a maximum number of 5 classes per day (excluding Equitation and Flat classes) per horse/pony Pony High Points ponies may only enter the correct height related category: Cat A 133cm & under Cat B over 133cm & up to 143cm Cat C over 143cm and up to & including 148cm Riders are allowed to ride one mount only in Rider Equitation classes and may only ride in one Equitation class for the day. Equitation Pony rider classes (Empire Excavations Cat A or McCain Cat B or ESNZ Pony Rider) are open to any aged pony rider. Horses or ponies competing using the Casual Jumping Levy are not eligible for HOYQ Points (but are eligible for prize money) and cannot compete in any National Series classes Points Restricted classes open to those horses/ponies with 40 points or less as recorded by ESNZ as at 1 August Note: points are accumulated against the mount not the combination so once the mount has more than 40 points recorded by ESNZ it cannot enter the restricted classes (even if it is a new mount-rider combination). CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Rising Star Series - open to those horses not jumping over 90cm Classes 10 & 56 ESNZ Combined Junior Rider & ESNZ Adult Rider Equitation National Series separate series points will be awarded but there will only be one set of prize money per class Tara Groenestein Memorial Trophy is awarded to top scoring horse ridden by Amateurs from points gained from nominated classes held at Auckland s November 2017 show, Waitemata s December 2017 show and Waikato s February 2018 show. Combined Northland & Waitemata Restricted Series sponsored by Gyro Plastics - prizes will be awarded to the top scoring horse and combined Cat pony from points gained in the Points Restricted Classes across all summer series shows run by Waitemata (16 & 17 December; 20 January; and 24 & 25 February) and Northland (8 October; 21 & 22 October; 12 November, 10 December and 21 January) *Show Circuit Championship* 5 class Championship, entered separately ($25 levy), with overall prizes for Horses and combined Cat Ponies. Championship riders will have points awarded for 1 st - 6 th place based on placings in each class provided their scores are greater than 66%. Each Championship class will also run as a regular class that all riders can enter (outside of the Championship). Prize money and rosettes will be awarded for place-getters in each individual class as per regular classes. Classes will carry the following weighting for overall scoring for the Championship: Hunter 30% (Open 1m; Cat A 70cm; Cat B 80cm & Cat C 90cm) Equitation 25% Handy Hunter 20% Flat Class 15% Turnout 10% P a g e 5 9

All competitors enter at their own risk and must be familiar with the Health and Safety Policy of both Show Hunter Waitemata and Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre ALL STALLION RIDERS MUST WEAR STALLION ARMBANDS WHEN MOUNTED Warm-ups name must be on whiteboard half an hour prior to the start time of the first class. We will take all practicable steps by: Providing a safe event, safe equipment and proper materials Identifying and monitoring hazards and using the hazard management hierarchy of eliminate, isolate or minimize Insist upon establishment of safe methods and best practices Comply with all H&S legislation, regulations and codes of practice We will take responsibility for health and safety procedures, however, ALL PEOPLE AT THE EVENT need to be aware of their responsibilities and comply with the event s health and safety policy. COMPETITORS will be responsible for themselves at ALL times by observing safe practices and rules/instructions relating to their competition. Every person involved in an event run by Show Hunter Waitemata is encouraged to play a vital and responsible role in maintaining a safe and healthy event through: Being involved in the event health and safety system Following correct procedures Safe and proper use of equipment Wearing protective clothing and equipment as and when required Reporting any pain or discomfort as soon as possible Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported Helping new participants, helpers and visitors to understand the right safety procedures and why they exist Informing the office immediately of any health and safety concerns Keeping the event facilities tidy to minimise the risk of any trips and falls.
