Producers will have two (2) options for added money. Option 1: fixed added money amount with a minimum of $100. Option 2: a progressive scaled based on the number of entries, minimum of $100, with stated discretion of the producer. Parameters must be clearly stated in the approval. (novice does not require any added money) Ø Contestants are assessed a 5 second penalty for knocking down a barrel Ø 2 timers either 1 hand timer & 1 electric eye or 2 electric eyes. 7 2017 Season Important Rules and Changes For Producers and Contestants to Know (see rulebook for complete list of rules that apply) General **Dress code (when in effect) is long sleeve button up shirts with collar and cuffs. **Producers need to provide WBRA membership applications at their race. **Race producer must submit race results to the president within 3 working days of the race. ** A down barrel will result in a 5 second penalty. **Approvals must be posted on the WBRA website 14 days prior to entry closing date (New for 2017) **Rakes per run must be stated on race approval form (New for 2017) **Any time contestant crosses starting line, time will begin. If timing line is crossed after run, this will result in a No Time. If contestant goes behind timers at any time, this will also result in a No Time. (New for 2017) Open **$10 late fee must be charged in the open class only. $5 is to be sent to WBRA secretary $5 is to be kept by race producer (Novice does not require a late fee) **Men may enter the open class **Same horse/rider combination may not cross enter the Open & Jackpot at the same race. (the same horse may cross enter with a different rider) Novice ** Lifetime earnings are on the horse and includes ALL monies won regardless of the place the money was won. Futurity money won counts towards horse s current lifetime earnings. (The games horse rule has been eliminated from the rulebook so novice classes are strictly determined by money won) ** Producer must keep track of horses names on results to be able to update standings Youth/Jr. ** No minimum number of contestants to hold a youth/jr. race. A single contestant may pay office fees to receive points towards yearend standings if there are no other contestants entered ** A no time will result in no points
