2 THE WORLD OF DETECTORS It looked like the Okanagan snow was not willing to leave us by mid-february for a second year in a row. This gave us however more time indoors and the opportunity to check out the blogs for new detectors coming out in Nokta and Minelab both have new series being marketed right now. First Texas has indicated since 2016 that a new technology was being developed for their Technetics and Fisher brands. So far nothing! And no noise coming from either Tesoro or Whites. Nokta Detection Technologies: The Kruzer with a 14 khz frequency, Kruzer - Multi with three frequencies, 5, 14 and 19 khz, and the Gold Kruzer at 61 khz. You may want to check out their technical brochure at: All VLF technologies, All Terrain, submersible to 5 meters. The Gold Kruzer is not on the shelves yet. Minelab Electronics Pty Ltd: The Equinox Series. The first VLF detector offering selectable multi frequencies and Simultaneous Multi-frequencies. The Equinox 600 featuring three selectable frequencies of 5, 10, 15 khz and Multi; and the Equinox 800 featuring five selectable frequencies of 5, 10, 15, 20, 40 khz and Multi. Blog: Another source of information on various detectors is a Blog run by Steve Herschbach called Detector Prospector. Navigate through the Menu and you hopefully find as I did that Steve does not tolerate detector bashing or rudeness. If someone does, their post may be removed with a warning they could be banned from the blog. However, Radioworld Toronto still only charges GST. So shop wisely. Clues To Find The Club Coin South of Grizzly Bear, this place was incorporated as a city in This park was named after an Okanagan Band Chief in the early 1800 s. Now, stand in the middle of the white X and walk north-west 120 steps. From No Thru Road walk 50 steps north to find the Club Coin. You will need a cwmpawd to help you out. 3 March 24, 2018 Club Hunt at SUN-OKA Beach It was a snowy day to start the morning while driving through Summerland and for those coming from Kaleden and Penticton. But on the beach, it was just another early cool Spring day. Thirteen people made it to the hunt. Unfortunately this Newsletter Editor forgot to take a group photo. But here are a few candid photos of the seeded beach hunt. March 30, 2018 Club Hunt at Summerland Dale Meadows A very windy day it was at the Dale Meadows Sport Fields on Easter Saturday. Fourteen members (including junior members) joined the hunt. Lots of coins and I do believe one ring were found.
