We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of metal detecting as a hobby. No brand or model of metal detector is endorsed by the club. Membership is open to the public with the only requirement being that all members follow the Treasure Hunters Code of Ethics. Club dues are $25.00 per family yearly. Any comments or stories that you would like to contribute to your newsletter are always welcome. CLUB MEETINGS: First Friday of each month. One of these incentives includes letting all of the club members that worked at our last National Hunt enter the next Club Night Hunt for half of the entry fee. We will do the same thing next year. and I have decided to start a campaign to get more kids into our clubs. We have talked about it before. The number of kids and teens coming to our hunts has really dwindled. After the cutoff date for the last ITTHC National Hunt there was only one kid entered in the Kids Hunt and only two Juniors entered in the Juniors Hunt. Gary did end up with four late kids so they actually had the hunt. There were 24 prize tokens for the five kids in the hunt Saturday. I only had two late kids in my Juniors Hunt so we let them enter the Main Hunt for half the fee and cancelled the Juniors Hunt. I have put on fourteen of those Juniors Hunt and usually average fourteen to eighteen hunters. We will be including a free Kids Hunt at our Three Forks Summer Club Hunt. We are really encouraging everyone to bring their kids and grandchildren to it. We are also planning on doing another free Kids Hunt a few weeks after the Kelly B Todd Kids Hunt which will take place in September and inviting all of those kids to participate. We are thinking about doing that hunt in the same Park and having a Scavenger Hunt with prizes, and a cook out along with the kids hunt. We may even get the kid s parents interested in the hobby. We will discuss all of this at our Board Meeting. We know that lots of kids especially the older ones like to stay inside close to their video games, computers, and phones but I think with some nudging you can get them out to these hunts. This is a very good hobby for them to get interested in and a great family activity. We also know that the fresh air and exercise come with many health benefits. I think it would well be worth our time and efforts, after all they are the next generation of detectorists. There is an outing in the works for a water/beach hunt and campout in June which is really going to be fun! We just haven t got the permission and spot secured yet.

4 4 THREE FORKS SUMMER CLUB HUNT JULY 17th AT THE COFFEY S BLUEBERRY FARM IN OKAY. The Night Hunt Entry Fee is $20.00 before July 3rd. There is also a mandatory Prize Donation worth at least $5.00. Children 12 and under can hunt for half price and waive the donation. All working Club Members that helped out at our National Hunt will be allowed to enter this Night Hunt for half price. You can pay in Silver up until the time of the Hunts. Silver prices will be14 Silver Dimes plus the $5.00 Prize Donation. There will be a free Kid s Hunt with lots of prizes and coins for kids 12 and under. Please bring all of your kids and grandchildren. We will be having a Pot Luck Dinner. There will be a sign up sheet at the Club Meeting. Bring your own drinks and chairs. 3:00 Setup and bury Hunts 5:00 Board Meeting.
