The club is a member of the Federation of Metal Detector and Archeological Clubs Inc. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of metal detecting as a hobby. No brand or model of metal detector is endorsed by the club. Membership is open to the public with the only requirement being that all members follow the Treasure Hunters Code of Ethics. Club dues are $25.00 per family yearly. Any comments or stories that you would like to contribute to your newsletter are always welcome. MEETINGS: First Friday of each month. 2 2 Dues Are Due! Don forget to get your dues in. There is a membership application included in this newsletter. Big thanks to everybody that paid early. Shawn Gilbert won the Silver Round in the Early Dues Drawing. National Hunt News Our national Hunt is off to a really good start! Francis Tracy has volunteered to be the Hunt Chairperson again this year. I have contacted all of the Treasure Hunting Magazines and seven Web Sites with our hunt info. Cathy and Gary Young will run the concessions, they will need everybody s support. Jerry Callison will bring the tents. Nancy Coffey will do the badges and prize board again. Francis Tracy has also volunteered to do the Main Hunt and Half Dollar Hunt. Gilbert Leake will do the Deep Hunt. Gary Young has the Kid s Hunt. I will be doing the Night Hunt and Ladies Hunt. I will need lots of donations for the Night Hunt. I have got five $40.00 Treasure Hunting Logbook Software CDs donated to us. I ll probably put two in the Night Hunt, two in the Main Hunt and one in the Ladies Hunt. We still need a volunteer to do the Gold Coin Hunt. I believe the Huntley Cache Jar needs to be started up again. This is going to be a really fun Hunt! 3 3 The Three Forks Annual Auction. Will be held during our February 3rd Club Meeting. There will be lots of good stuff to buy!!! We will have Treasure Hunting Books and Accessories, Old Maps, Baked Goodies, Surprise Bags, Household Goods, and all kinds of Miscellaneous Items. This is a very important fund raiser for our club s General Fund so bring lots of donations to auction off.

I told her I would save it and put it in our newsletter. To Three Forks! Three Forks Treasure Hunters Club will be twenty three years old this month. Come help us celebrate! We will have a Birthday Cake at the Club meeting. I said a prayer today for you all and I know God must have heard it. I felt an answer in my heart, although he spoke no words. I didn t ask Him for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn t mind. I asked Him to send treasures of a far more lasting kind. I also asked that He be near you at the start of each new day and to grant you health and blessings, and friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you, all things great and small. 5 5 Some Cemetery Cleanup News and Future Outing Dates On February 4th we will return to the Old Agency Cemetery to continue working west clearing brush. We need some people to bring chainsaws, weed eaters, loppers or just yourselves. If anyone has leaf blowers please bring them. We will try to blow the leaves out the cemetery through the north fence if it will work. It would be a lot easier than raking and bagging them. We also need a heavy duty wood chipper if you have one or know where to get one. Lorie has informed me that Bruce will be bringing out hot stew for lunch. If the ground conditions are better we will have an outing to hunt the pastures surrounding the cemetery on Sunday. We will check the ground Saturday and if it is too still too dry we will issue another rain check. We do have some areas with good potential to hunt for people that have accumulated rain checks, but we still have to wait until the ground is better to hunt them. To hunt on Sundays you have to support our project. You can support it by helping clean on Saturday, by donating money toward our food fund or equipment, and if you can t physically work just show up on Saturday. We will meet at 9:00 at the new Pilot Truck Stop and Convenience Store for each Agency Cleanup. The store is located on the east side of US 69 and Harris Rd. north of Muskogee and about one and a quarter mile south of the Arkansas River Bridge. It is one mile south of the now closed Barking Frog Convenience Store where we used to meet. We have rescheduled the Harnage Cemetery Cleanup for February 25th and 26th. We can probably get done in about half a day or less. When we finish it we will hunt the homestead the rest of the day then hunt it again the following day. We will meet at 9:00 on both days at the convenience Store at the Chandler Exit of the Muskogee Turn Pike (SH 167). It is located on the east side of the turnpike on the east side of Muskogee. I need to remind everybody that the EOCPO has organized these cleanups to preserve cemeteries and the history associated with them so that future generations can appreciate them. These are also an excellent community service project for all of our clubs, a good public image project for our hobby, an individual good feeling of accomplishment toward giving back to history after taking from it all of these years, and good exercise. It also gives us the added bonus of getting our clubs into some good historical hunting spots. As always there is no guarantee that everybody will find something fantastic at every outing. We are out there to have fun.
