Progressive Raffle The Progressive Raffle number drawn for September was 1762, Ed Pesek. Ed was in attendance but not registered. Please bring a valid membership card with you or you will not be allowed to vote.

2 Letter from the Vice President To: All ARGC Members Subject: Major Improvements and accomplishments for 2017 The Officers and Trustees have worked hard and will continue to work hard to make our club the best. Please see the quick summary of some of the major changes for #1 - Rifle Range Improvements. We have recently added electricity/lighting to the rifle range. #2 - Clubhouse Heating. We changed our heating at the clubhouse from electric to propane. The estimated savings per year is $2, #3 - Trap and Skeet Field. We replaced the concrete and add ed gravel on the fields. #4 - Land Assessment Restructuring. To ensure all members pay their fair share in land assessments just as current members have. This should also generate approximately $7,000 per year to go to the land fund or if emergencies happen. #5 - Junior Membership. We created a junior membership program to provide our younger members (18-20) an opportunity to join the club and waiving land assessment fees until they are 21 years old. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to let us know or put suggestions in the box provided at the club house. John Hadzinski Vice President Ashtabula Rod and Gun Club Rifle Range If anyone has FREE fill dirt that can be used on the rifle range, we would like it for the left hand berm. 3-Gun There will be a 3-Gun clinic for anyone interested in learning how to shoot 3-gun on Oct 28th. We can always use help setting up on Saturday at 4:30. There is always need for helpers on the day of the shoot also. Small Bore Next shoot is October 22nd. Shooting starts at 9am. Bench Rest Next shoot is October 29th. Shooting starts at 10am. Black Powder Shoots every 3rd Sunday. 9 am arrival and 10 am shoot. There is always great food to eat after the shoot. Venture Crew Venture crew meets the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. For anyone years old we will be having our recruitment campout Oct 27th and 28th. Other activities coming up this month are Laurel Caverns trip - Oct 12, 13, 14th Youth archery is the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 4-6pm. Every year Venture Crew adopts a family through the Halo Program. Presentation of gifts for that family will be on Dec 16th and it would be great if a club officer were on hand to represent the club Start thinking about dates and ideas for the 2nd annual HOLIDY PARTY

3 Clubhouse The clubhouse has been reserved for the following dates: Oct 21st Oct 27th and 28th If you would like to reserve any club property contact Kyle Raleigh CCW Class There will be a CCW class on October 21st at the clubhouse. The cost is $100 for individual or $150 for couples. The pistol range will be closed from 12-5 on this date. Call Rick in advance to reserve you spot Indoor Archery Indoor weekly archery practice is every Tuesday from 6-8 pm. Dates for fall league will be announced at a later date. Trap Every Wednesday morning and Saturday morning. On the 14th we will be hosting the County Trap League and are currently leading the league by 5 birds. Jerry is still looking for his eventual replacement as trap chairman. Skeet Shooting Wed night, Fri morning and Sunday morning. Gib is still looking for someone to take over skeet chairman duties. Bird Preserve First hunt will be Oct 22 at 9am. Cost is $100 and includes a steak dinner. Youth and first time hunter! Nov 11th at 10am will be a hunt for you (any age) who have never bird hunted with a dog. Contact John Hadzinski County League information There are several events coming up: Whitetail Banquet is the day after Thanksgiving and is per ticket. The location is the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds Amboy Club is holding their shoot before you buy October 28th. Conneaut Fish and Game is having a perch fry on Oct 28th. Jefferson is having their reverse raffle on Oct 28th and the cost is per couple. Solon Sportsman Club is having the Youth Pheasant hunt on Oct 28th For more information contact Paul Callender Grounds If you are using the John Deere, the gas gauge is broken. Always do a visual check of gas before using. Being diesel, you don't want to run out. We try to keep gas on hand for projects. However, if we our out, please let Paul Soltis know and he will arrange to get some to you. ODNR News There is an outbreak in Ohio of EHD disease (blue tounge) that affects deer. Although there have been larger outbreaks in surrounding counties, there have only been 2 cases in Ashtabula County At Pymatuning Lake there has been an outbreak of Coy Herpes which has killed many carp. They are hoping to keep it contained to Pymatuning.

4 SNOW PLOW BIDS The club will be taking bids for snow plowing for the club until Oct 26th. Bids will no longer be accepted after this date. CLUB WATER ISSUE The water issue at the clubhouse has been resolved. We are now looking for ideas to help make the water drinkable. GUN SHOW Gun Show at Ashtabula County Oct 14-15th. Under New Management. Go support our local Gun Show! NEW BOILER INSTALLED The new boiler is installed. We need help prepping the site for the new 500 gallon tank that will be delivered Oct 18th between 9-12am. Contact Gib to help!
