5 Oregon Big Game Auction Tag Sponsorship Application Organization Objectives/Goals: Mission Statement: Putting Sheep on the Mountain in Oregon Oregon FNAWS is vigorously involved in the conservation, propagation, and intensive management of wild sheep and mountain goat populations and their habitat in Oregon. Applicant Requirements To be considered for selection, applicants must confirm that they meet each requirement by checking the respective box. Applicant must: Provide organization and facilities to conduct a live auction between December 1, 2015 and May 31, Provide cellular phones and staff to accept phone bids for the auction. Advertise the auction where feasible, including organization publications. Provide up to two ODFW/A&H representatives with a ticket to the fundraising event at the Government per diem rate (currently $23 for most of Oregon) Allow members of the public to access the banquet for the big game tag auction in person or via telephone (free of charge, if so requested). Have space available (minimum 8 table) for ODFW/A&H information exhibit, free of charge. We have sold 3 previous desert bighorn sheep tag's for 53,000, 72,000, and 52,000 dollars. We represented ODFW at the 2014 and 2015 Wild Sheep Foundation national banquet in Reno to promote the Governors Sheep tag, this included talking to the interested bidders at the show, talking the tag on stage the night of the auction and promoting the A&H raffle tags at the show. 20 Organization Objectives/Goals: Founded in 1973, the National Wild Turkey Federation is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the wild turkey and preserving our hunting heritage. Working closely with state, federal, and provincial wildlife agencies and other partners, our volunteers and staff restored wild turkey populations throughout North America, spending more than $331 million to conserve nearly 16 million acres of habitat. Additionally, The NWTF introduces approximately 100,000 people to the outdoors through outreach programs such as: Women in the Outdoors, Wheelin' Sportsmen, and JAKES, our youth program. Our new initiative, Save the Habitat, Save the Hunt, has set goals to conserve 4 million acres of habitat, increase hunter numbers by 1.5 million nationwide, and increase public hunting access by 500,000 acres over the next 10 years. The Central Oregon NWTF Chapter has hosted 19 Hunting Heritage Banquets. Each banquet includes a live auction including core package and donated items. We hire a professional auctioneer for the event. Our regional director will be present to oversee the banquet and make sure everything goes smoothly. The live auction typically takes place after dinner and includes approximately 20 of the highest value items. Volunteers members help with bid tickets and spotting. The event will be held at the Bend Elks Lodge where we held a successful banquet the past 3 years. The Bend Bulletin will mention the banquet in the paper. We will make mention on our Oregon-NWTF Facebook page which has over 600 followers. We will have a booth at the Central Oregon Sportsmen's Show prior to the event where we can advertise the auction tag by word of mouth. Our headquarters will do an "e-blast" communication to members notifying them of the auction tag. 4) Describe the opportunities for ODFW/A&H to participate in the promotion and sale of the auction tag both prior to and during the event: ODFW/A&H could attend the Central Oregon Sportsmen's Show prior to the event to promote the auction tag. We will welcome ODFW to the actual event where they can have plenty of microphone time to talk about the tag, plus room to set up a table. Specifically, the NWTF is currently under agreement with the USFS to deliver 523 acres of ponderosa pine and aspen enhancement on the Ochoco National Forest. Additionally, the NWTF is halfway through a 4400 acre pine thinning and juniper removal project on the Deschutes National Forest and another 4000 acres of juniper removal on the westside Crooked River National Grasslands. 23 Oregon Big Game Auction Tag Sponsorship Application Last year was the second year in a row the Central Oregon NWTF chapter hosted an A&H statewide deer auction tag. We contacted every past bidder on the list multiple times and were able to get 4 competitive bidders. Ours was the last deer tag auctioned in 2015 and bidding was competitive. Eventually, a bidder who attended the banquet in person purchased the tag. We would be pleased to host another tag for ODFW in Thank you for considering our application. Page 20 of 64

The Oregon Hunters Association has been holding fund-raising events since Our State Convention features two live auctions conducted by a professional auctioneer who is familiar with the A&H program and the A&H Statewide Deer and Elk hunts. The OHA Convention has been the venue for the annual A&H Raffle Tag drawings for over a decade; we provide over 400 square feet of banquet room space and tables to the A&H crew at no charge.
