Two weeks ago I spent some time working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. ORNL is one of American s most important laboratories getting its start as part of the Manhattan Project developing the first nuclear weapons. Today ORNL is working on sustainable energy projects, nuclear-radioisotope power systems, hydrogen fuel cells, advanced additive manufacturing, and other pure science areas geared toward enhancing America s economic competiveness. In 2015 the scientists at ORNL successfully manufactured a Shelby Cobra by 3D printing it. That s right they printed a car using a giant printer similar to the one I will print this newsletter on. Instead of ink they used ABS plastic infused with carbon fiber. 3D printers are becoming common place and Bobcat has three of them at the Acceleration Center in Bismarck. At ORNL I met with a group of 29 other scientists, engineers and manufacturing experts to brainstorm how to economically 3D metal print large scale parts and structures. By large think tractors, excavators, air planes, even houses. The technology, capability, software and methods to do this today do not exist but the challenge has been accepted by ORNL In future virtually any part needed for a classic car could be recreated using 3D printing or 3D printed tooling. 3 FORD GT CARS 5 TH & 8TH IN CLASS AT 12 HOURS OF SEBRING The road to Le Mans continued Saturday at Sebring International Raceway, and although the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team came up just short in a quest for a podium spot at the 12 Hours of Sebring, there were still plenty of bright spots to point to when the checkered flag fell. Once again, both the No. 66 and No. 67 finished the race on track. But this time the No. 67 Ford GT (Richard Westbrook/Ryan Briscoe/Scott Dixon) battled all day on the lead lap, led a portion of the race, and was in contention for a podium finish in the final 10 minutes of the race before getting knocked off track. The car finished fifth in GTLM. The No. 66 Ford GT (Joey Hand/Dirk Müller/Sébastien Bourdais) ran strong early, but hydroplaned off the track during a massive rainstorm, causing major front-end damage that needed to be repaired in the paddock. A heroic effort by Ford Chip Ganassi Racing got the car repaired in just over 15 minutes and it returned just six laps down. It finished eighth in class.

4 It s night and day, compared to Daytona, said Westbrook, who was in the battle for the podium at the end in the No. 67. It s really good for all the guys on the team to have a good, cleanish race. I had no car issues. We ve learned a hell of a lot. I think we have a long list of stuff we can improve on. In Daytona, we weren t really racing people. We were too many laps down. Now we re on the lead lap and we re racing people. We know where we ve got to improve now. Time s not on our side, but the will is definitely there and I m with the best team out there, so we ll get it. It was tough luck. It was a bummer, Hand said. From (Dirk s accident), we just did what this team does and adapted. When we get into a situation, these guys just know how to make it happen. Luckily we got a red flag after Dirk s incident, and even though the guys couldn t work on it (under a red flag), they got a look at it and were able to prepare everything we needed. They got the car back together in 15 minutes, 32 seconds, from start to rolling out of the tent. I think it s just a testament to this program, these guys know it. Maybe everybody else doesn t know how good these guys are, but I know how good they are. That s why I m so proud to be part of this Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team. After that, we went racing today and after we came back, we ran flawlessly. I think all in all, it was a pretty good day for us with what we re looking forward to, which is Le Mans. The cars ran clean, mechanically, so we re really pleased about that, said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, Global Product Development and Chief Technical Officer. We didn t have any repeat issues from (The Rolex 24 At) Daytona. We ve got some more things to work on, but the cars ran reliably which at a track like Sebring is quite an accomplishment. On the speed front, both cars had good pace and the No. 67 car led quite a few laps, finished on the lead lap and had a real shot at the podium, so we are also happy that the car has the speed to be competitive. There are a few things we know we want to work on to keep improving our performance and achieve better and better results but overall, it was a good outcome. We came here today to prove we had a durable car, and we did that, said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance. We fixed the issues from Daytona, so that s encouraging. Nobody expects some of the crashes we saw and some of the hard rain we experienced today, but none of those are excuses. Those are all building blocks for Le Mans. All in all, it was a good day. Everybody wants to see us finish a little further up front, but we ran a very solid race today. The Ford GTs will be back in action in Round 3 of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship on April 16, on the streets on Long Beach, California. T

5 Reviewed and approved March 22, 2015 Mustangs & Fords of the Dakotas By Laws Article One: 1. Name of this organization shall be Mustangs and Fords of the Dakotas. 2. Address of this Organization shall be 503 Birchwood Dr. Bismarck, ND This address is subject to change as President changes. Article Two: The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the preservation and restoration of Ford Motor Company vehicles for the pleasure and benefit of the members of the organization and further to encourage the participation of members in touring, parading and displaying their vehicles, and to promote Mustangs and Fords of the Dakotas car club to the public. Article Three: General Membership: 1. This person is interested in supporting the purpose of this organization. 2. Must pay annual dues; for the exception of honorary memberships 3. Shall be entitled to vote and hold office in this organization. 4. Shall be entitled to attend and participate in all activities of this organization. Article Four: Dues: 1. All members shall pay dues for the exception of honorary membership. 2. Dues shall be $20.00 per family. New members would also pay $ The club year runs from June 1 to May 31st. 3. New members who join on or after December 31st will be considered paid up for the following club year. 4. There shall be no prorating of club dues. 5. Delinquent members shall not vote or hold office within this club. 6. Any member delinquent as of July 1st may be dropped from the membership rolls. Article Five: 1. Meetings: A. Monthly meetings are held on the 4th Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm unless otherwise specified. B. Meeting date, time and place are subject to change at the consent of a minimum of two officers of the club.

6 C. During the month of April of each year, nominations for officers shall be made. D. Election of officers shall be held in May. E. Terms for officers will be limited to 2 year terms, per position. 2. Officers will be as follows: President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer. A. President shall be the Chief Executive Officer 1. President shall conduct all meetings of the organization. 2. President shall appoint and empower such officers and committees as he/she may in his/her discretion as deemed appropriate. 3. President shall be responsible for and have authority over all property of the organization. B. Vice President shall assist the President in the performance of his duties. 1. Vice President shall assume the responsibilities and duties of the President in his/her absence. C. Secretary/Treasurer will keep a membership application file which will show: 1. Year/Make/Model of vehicle 2. A complete list of membership current as of July 1st 3. Name of each member along with spouse. 4. Each member will receive a list of current members D. Secretary/Treasurer responsibilities: 1. Responsible for duties of the President in absence of the vice-president. 2. Shall collect the funds due the organization. 3. Shall dispense the organizations funds as ordered by action of the members. 4. Shall maintain a record of all properties of the organization, if any, and their location. 5. Article Six: 1. Bylaws shall be open for review each February. Proposed changes will be posted and voted on at the following meeting. 2. All business of the club shall be resolved by majority vote. Article Seven: 1. This organization may sponsor, conduct, or participate in parades, car tours, car shows, swap meets, picnics, parties as representatives of Mustangs and Fords of the Dakotas or any other activities approved by the membership. 2. This organization shall not support any political candidate or party. 3. Mustangs and Fords of the Dakotas car club, or members, or any of its officers, may not be held liable for any bodily injury, property damage or theft while attending any club event.
