1 ICWL LEAGUE MEETING MINUTES Monday, September 17, :00 pm 9:00 pm Meeting started at 7:01 pm Treasurer s report o We have $17, in the account as of 9/17/2018. o Interest May August $3.27 o We received $ from wrestling clinic o We paid the following since last meeting in May. $ deposit for league championship facility at L Sports. $ Travel Epenses to USA Wrestling $ To Tyrant for ICWL Championship mat deposit $ Eecutive Board Meeting Fo & Hound $ Wrestling rule books o Total Income was $ since May 2018 & our total epenses were $7, o You can pay your dues on line. Brian will send out procedure of how to do that to the primary league rep. o Net meeting all league representatives will receive an electronic copy of the budget. o League DUES are due by December 3, 2018 they are the same as last year & a $100 league sponsorship will be collected. Board positions open o Considering increase by 1 Board member this season o There are 4 Board positions open for renewal or replacement. They are: 1. Treasurer Scott Vocht 2. Board Member at Large Mike Medrow 3. Board Member at Large Chet Rozanski 4. Board Member at Large Angela Quinn Contact Information o Brian will set up on the homepage a list for teams to update their contact information. 1. Online forms for each team head coach, assistant coach, league rep, pairings contact, etc. Must be filled out ASAP please. New teams o There are no new teams applying for ICWL membership: None (Kingsway was rediscussed this summer but we haven t connected)

2 Team Merger o Pottstown PAL and Pottsgrove consideration to merge as one team USA Wrestling o Recap of Colorado Springs trip (Brian, Josh) 1. Brian was asked to speak to other wrestling organizations at a meeting in Colorado Springs to eplain how we operate. Due to the Larry Nasser (Olympic Gymnastic doctor) coaches will be required to be certified in the net few years. We are required to follow the Federal mandated rule. Everyone will have to go through SAFESPORT check. Coaches will have to go through leadership programs. 2. Tony Black will be at the October meeting to further eplain the Safesport rules and procedures, as well as, answer any questions. 3. All epenses for Safesport compliance will be on each individual club to pay for through increase in their registration fee or fundraising etc. 4. Clubs will be required if they See something to say something. o PAWF is interested in ICWL participation, including Folkstyle PA Director to run tournament. The host team would keep all gate & concession proceeds and pay for the officials. Entry Fee is $25, Host gets $16, PAWF gets $9 (This is used to fund their National Teams) 1. Kids that do not have Folkstyle card can pay $5 to wrestle for the day however, if they come back for more tournaments they will be required to buy the limited card. 2. Looking to run Free Style Qualifier with a 4 hour clinic in the morning, with an hour break then the qualifier in the afternoon.

3 3. The state of New Jersey approved girls wrestling this week with less than 100 girls in the sport. Pa has not approved girls wrestling to date but PAWF is pushing hard for it. Pa currently has 179 high school female wrestlers with District 1 being the biggest district. 4. PJW s is the same day as the Freestyle Clinic/qualifier. PAWF may move tourney back 1 week. 5. Mason Dion Duals will be held the first week of Jan. Schedule and submission of host dates o Chet is in charge of scheduling (new committee members needed) o We will be taking team submissions through the website. There will be a notes section for teams to make comments. Host dates are as follows: 1. December 15 th 2. January 5 th, 12 th, 19 th & 26 th 3. February 2 nd & 9 th o We need 15 host teams per week. (Tri & 1 quad meet) o ALL teams MUST enter their submissions on line along with the number of mats they will use or note that they cannot host. o Committee will have schedule done shortly after the November meeting. Ratings system no changes from last season o Still 0-3 Weight certifications dates and reminders o First weight certification 11/26 (A PIAA referee must be present for weigh ins or have 2 coaches from another team be present to verify all weights. If you have someone in your club that is a PIAA referee you must find one outside of your club to be present). o Rule of thumb -.4 round down,.5 round up. o The Second weight certification will take place the weekend of 1/19/18 at your meet. If a wrestler is not present at that meet they can be verified at the following weeks meet. PLEASE update the roster with each wrestlers weight. ICWL Open Championship updates o Contract locked with date already (February 24, L Sports o Mat contract locked (discounted from last season via Tyrant/Cory F.) o Split session and Silent Tourney again o Continuing the OW 1. Some of the qualifications that we look at are Lower seed wins, most pins, fastest pin etc. o May consider a girl s bracket depending on numbers. However, they MAY NOT be eligible to wrestle in both tourneys. It s one or the other not both. Duals o We will participate in the Mason Dion Duals, Wildwood Duals, Battle of the Bridge & the Bruiser Duals o Josh is looking into new league to replace VEWL.

4 Uniform policy o Requirements are listed on the website. (2-piece) o Tournaments MUST conform to the 2 piece rues or wear a singlet. o Uniform vendors will be posted on the website along with the USA Wrestling Store. Any club buying through USA Wrestling will receive $20% off w/10% going back to the league. Technology updates o Continued consideration for use of Track Wrestling on weekends (would eliminate need for update to Pairing Software) 1. Cost is $30/meet/location comes to $ Tracks age, weight & skill. Eperience is not part of the equation. 3.
