The Thunder, who are 3-4 all-time in the playoffs, reached the tournament in 2008, 2009, 2010 and About the Green Knights: St. Norbert enters the NCAA Playoffs 9-1 overall. The Green Knights won the Midwest Conference Championship Game with a stout 10-7 win over Monmouth this past Saturday in De Pere. It was St. Norbert s 17th MWC title in 35 seasons in the league. Senior quarterback Drew Rhodes tops the Green Knights in both passing and rushing. Rhodes has completed 127 of 216 passes for 1,439 yards and 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He has rushed 157 times for 642 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver Matt Galanopoulos has a team-high 33 receptions for 298 yards and three touchdowns, while junior Samuel Staehling has caught 25 passes for 388 yards and four touchdowns. Freshman running back Brandon Dudley has 295 yards rushing on 45 carries with four touchdowns. Senior linebacker Matt Barrett has a team-high 77 tackles with 10 tackles-for-loss and 4 1/2 quarterback sacks. Senior linebacker Mike Olijnyk has 56 tackles with 16 1/2 tackles for loss and 4 1/2 quarterback sacks, while senior linebacker Matt Gurgone has 53 tackles, 15 tackles-for-loss, five quarterback sacks, four forced fumbles and four interceptions. Senior defensive back Hunter Prokash and junior defensive back Joe Peterson also have four interceptions each. St. Norbert is averaging 34.8 points and yards per game. Defensively, the Green Knights are allowing 9.6 points and yards per game. About the Thunder: Trine enters the NCAA Playoffs 10-0 overall and ranked No. 12 in the D3football.com Top 25. The Thunder is coming off a win over Kalamazoo this past Saturday to close out the regular season. Senior running back Lamar Carswell powers Trine s offense. Carswell has rushed for a NCAA Division III-best 2,184 yards on 244 carries (9.0 per rush) with 32 touchdowns. Senior quarterback Brandon Winters has completed 54 of 83 passes for 1,016 yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions while also rushing 61 times for 360 yards and two scores. Senior wide receiver Jeffery Barnett has a teamhigh 32 receptions for 679 yards with four touchdowns while also returning 13 kickoffs for 530 yards (40.8 per return) and three touchdowns. Junior linebacker Simeon Washington has a team-high 78 tackles with 11 tackles-for-loss and 4 1/2 quarterback sacks. Senior linebacker Sam Cavanaugh has 64 tackles. Senior defensive back J.J. Fierro has 54 tackles, while senior defensive back Robert Riley has 53 tackles. Trine is averaging 45.2 points and yards per game. Defensively, the Thunder is allowing 22.7 points and yards per game. Find A Way: Prior to the 2018 season, St. Norbert had not won a game without scoring an offensive touchdown since The Green Knights now have two such victories in the 2018 campaign. St. Norbert opened its season with a 16-7 win over Aurora on Sept. 1 in De Pere. The Green Knights won that game on Matt Gurgone s 20-yard interception return in the second quarter and three Spenser Thompson-Meyers field goals. The Green Knights then tripped Monmouth 10-7 this past Saturday at home. Ben Kornowski s 43-yard interception return just 1:40 into the game as well as a Thompson- Meyers field goal on the next possession was all the scoring St. Norbert would need. The Green Knights last win prior to this season without scoring an offensive touchdown came on Oct. 8, 1938 in a 9-0 win over South Dakota State. The contest was the dedication game for Minahan Stadium.

The Green Knights are currently yielding just 57.0 rushing yards per game, good for sixth nationally. St. Norbert held Monmouth to 97 yards under its season average of 187 in last Saturday s 10-7 win. Carswell leads Division III in rushing yards per game at yards per game and is second in rush yards per carry (9.0) and rushing touchdowns (32). St. Norbert has allowed just four rushing touchdowns, with three coming in a double-overtime loss at UW-Eau Claire. The Green Knights have allowed just one rushing touchdown in the nine games since. Thievery Talk: St. Norbert enjoyed a banner day shutting down Monmouth s passing attack by filching six aerials in last Saturday s MWC Championship Game. The Green Knights have now gained six interceptions just three times in school history. St. Norbert had a school record seven against Ferris State on Oct. 5, It had been 33 years since the Green Knights last intercepted at least six passes, hijacking that many against Ripon on Oct. 19, Junior defensive back Joe Peterson had three interceptions against Monmouth, the first Green Knight in 31 years to do so. Joe Haselwander was the last to get three interceptions on Nov. 7, 1987 against Chicago. Bill Van Lanen holds the school record of five, coming against Loras on Oct. 6, Tim Van Alstine is the only other one to get three interceptions, doing it twice - against Maranatha Baptist on Sept. 16, 1978 and against Butler on Oct. 28, Defensive Dossier: St. Norbert is in the top 10 in 11 different defensive categories in this week s NCAA Division III statistical rankings. The Green Knights are second

4 nationally in team passing efficiency defense (83.21 rating). St. Norbert is third in total defense (203.3 yards per game) and defensive touchdowns (six). The Green Knights stand fifth in tackles for loss (9.9 per game). St. Norbert is sixth in rushing defense (57.0 yards per game), first downs allowed (122) and thirddown conversion defense (24.2 percent). The Green Knights are seventh in interceptions (19) while sitting eighth in scoring defense (9.6 points per game). St. Norbert is tenth in passing yards allowed (146.3 yards per game) and turnovers gained (29). The Green Knights have four shutouts in 2018, the first time they have done so since St. Norbert, which also had four shutouts in 1938 and 1952, had a school-record five shutouts in Winning Ways: St. Norbert has assured itself of a 20th consecutive winning season. The Green Knights last season at-orbelow.500 was a 5-5 mark in The Green Knights have an alltime record of in 83 years of intercollegiate football, a winning percentage of.611.
