2 About the Mentone Hockey Club Mentone Hockey Club was established in 1977 as the Old Mentonians Hockey Club. Through a merger with the Mordialloc Women's Hockey club and with the introduction of Junior teams in 1994, the now Mentone Hockey Club Inc. has grown to 27 teams, with over 300 members and is one of the premier Hockey clubs in the southern metropolitan region. Mentone Hockey Club caters for players of all abilities and all ages with 6 Women's, 5 Men's, 9 Junior's and 5 Veteran's teams. Our Women s first XI are in Women's State League 1, Victoria's Premier grade, and the Men s First IX is in Men's State League 2. We have Veterans teams for Men (over 40 s) and Women (over 35 s) and Supervets (over 50 s) and Junior teams in Under 9 s, Under 11 s, Under 13 s, Under 15 s and Under 17 s in both mixed and girls teams. The Mentone Hockey Club home ground is located in picturesque surroundings at the Keysborough Playing Fields of the Mentone Grammar School in Springvale Road, Keysborough. Mentone Hockey Club is affiliated with Hockey Victoria and as well as having teams in the winter competitions, (played from April to September,) we also play in the Summer competition in all sections, (played October to February). Our club is also a keen Indoor Hockey supporter and is very competitive in both senior and junior Indoor Hockey competitions. The future at Mentone looks bright. We have a committed and strong playing group who have proven themselves over the last few years and certainly look set to continue their successful rise. We have a large number of talented senior and junior players, we have respected coaches and a well organised committee and we are becoming one of the biggest and best Hockey Clubs in Victoria.
