C. wish to take this opporttmity of thanking all their patrons for their kind support during the Dublin City Cup and Shield Competitions and wish them A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR and hope for a continuance of their splendid sporting spirit and patronage during the remainder of the season. EDTORAL After our 0-2 defeat by Shamrock Rovers, we had a well deserved victory over Drumcondra on last Sunday week by 2-0. Our reshuffled team played very well, and fully deserved their victory. Last Sunday we travelled to play Limerick and were forced through injuries to make several changes. Despite this handicap the team gave another good display and were well worth their 2-1 lead two minutes from time. Then however Limerick scored two goals to win by 3-2, entirely against the run of the play. To-day we welcome Sligo Rovers, on their first visit to Cork this season. After a rather indifferent start to the season they are now playing well and had a great 3-0 victory last Sunday, over joint league leaders Transport. n the Shield game played at Sligo we won by 2-1 and will have to repeat that performance to-day, if we are to remain in the running for League Championship. We hope for a good clean sporting ga me with the better side securin g the points.
