Team USA is the designated home team and will wear its blue jerseys. QUICK TO START -- Jonathan Quick will get the call in goal today. Quick stopped 22-of-23 shots in his Olympic debut on Thursday (Feb. 13) in Team USA s 7-1 win over Slovakia. Quick won the 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy in helping the L.A. Kings to the Stanley Cup title. - LINEUP TODAY -- Team USA s lineup today contains the same players as it utilized on Thursday (Feb. 13) vs. Slovakia. Non-dressing players include netminder Jimmy Howard, defenseman Justin Faulk and forward Derek Stepan. ALL-TIME vs. RUSSIA IN THE OLYMPICS -- The U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team is (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) all-time against Russia at the Olympics. In international competition overall, including the Olympics and Men s World Championship, the U.S. is (W-OTW-L-OTL-T). (note: The U.S. has a record in Olympic competition against the Soviet Union). Joe Pavelski led the way, winning 12-of-13 faceoffs, while Ryan Kesler won 11-of- 13 draws... Zach Parise and Ryan Suter sat down with Amy Kobach of Good Morning America yesterday at the Main Press Center and then journeyed to the International Broadcast Center to do an interview with NBC s Rebecca Lowe. Suter and Parise met Nastia Luikin in the NBC commisary and also chatted with NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood... Paul Stastny tallied a pair of goals and Phil Kessel recorded three points ( ), while goaltender Jonathan Quick made 22 saves in his Olympic debut. The U.S. scored six of its seven goals in the second period, tying a modern-day (1956-present) U.S. Olympic record for goals in a single period. All total, 11 players got on the scoresheet with seven players recording at least two points.

The 25 members of Team USA represent 17 NHL teams and seven states. The New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues each have three players. Minnesota is the home state for the most U.S. Olympians (eight). The U.S. roster includes 15 first-round draft choices, including Patrick Kane, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Twenty members of Team USA played U.S. college hockey, with the University of Wisconsin leading the way with four players. - CAPTAIN AMERICA -- Zach Parise is captain of the 2014 U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team. Parise, who played for the U.S. at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, is a two-time gold medalist (2002 U18 World Championship, 2004 World Junior Championship). Forward Dustin Brown and defenseman Ryan Suter are serving as Team USA s alternate captains. All three players wear a letter for their respective NHL clubs. Brown is the captain of the L.A. Kings, while Parise and Suter are both alternate captains for the Minnesota Wild. COACHING STAFF -- The U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team is led by head coach Dan Bylsma, head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Peter Laviolette, captain of the 1994 U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team and Stanley Cup-winning NHL coach; Todd Richards, head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets; and Tony Granato, assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins, are serving as assistant coaches. - TIDBITS FROM PAST GAME NOTES -- Many of Team USA s players and coaches, including head coach Dan Bylsma, were at the U.S.-Canada women s game on Feb. 12. In addition, players have been taking in other events, both in the coastal and mountain clusters, since their arrival... YOUNG GUNS -- Of the U.S. 25-man roster, 22 members are under 30 years old. Justin Faulk is the youngest member of Team USA at 21 years old, while Ryan Miller is the oldest at 33 years old. FAMILY AFFAIR -- Ryan Suter made his Olympic debut in 2010, but he isn t the first member of his family to play for Team USA at the Olympics. Suter s dad, Bob, was a member of the gold medal-winning 1980 U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team and his uncle, Gary, captured a silver medal with the 2002 U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team. In addition, Paul Stastny s father, Peter, played for Czechoslovakia at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games and Slovakia at the 1994 Games. Ryan Suter (65), Phil Kessel (54), Dustin Brown (53), Zach Parise (39), Ryan Kesler (35) and James van Riemsdyk (35) lead the pack for the U.S. Most recently, three members of the U.S. Olympic Men s Ice Hockey Team -- Justin Faulk, T.J. He lives in Minsk, the capital of Belarus and is fluent in English, Belorussian and Russian. 6 Team USA Game Notes vs. Russia Saturday, Feb. 15, Olympic Winter Games Page Five USA Hockey Happenings - The 2014 U.S. Olympic Women s Ice Hockey Team completed preliminary-round play Wednesday (Feb. 12) with a 3-2 loss to arch-rival Canada. The U.S. women, which finished in group play, will enter the medal round as the second-seeded team and play a semifinal game Monday (Feb. 17) against a yet-to-be-named opponent. The contest will be broadcast live in the United States on NBC Sports Network. - The U.S. Paralmypic Sled Hockey Team is currently taking part in a 10-day training camp in Charlotte, N.C., as part of its final preparations for the Paralympic Winter Games. A PBS documentary on the Paralympic team will air nationally Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. ET. - The ninth annual Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships took place Feb. 7-9 in Eagle River, Wis. Some 340 teams participated in the event on Dollar Lake. - The seventh edition of Hockey Weekend Across America will take place Feb. 28-Mar. 2. The threeday nationwide celebration of the sport features Wear Your Favorite Jersey Day (Friday), Try Hockey Day (Saturday) and Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes Day (Sunday). This year, nearly 450 rinks across the U.S. have signed up to host a Try Hockey for Free event as part of Saturday s Try Hockey Day. - USA Hockey s National Team Development Program had both its teams competing during the most recent international break. The U.S. National Under-18 Team took first place in the Under-18 Five Nations Tournament, held Feb. 5-9 in Moscow, Russia. The U.S. National Under-17 Team traveled to Sundsvail, Sweden, to play in the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament and came home with a first-place finish. - The U.S. Men s and Women s National Under-18 Teams will compete in their respective IIHF World Championships in the coming weeks.
