Log in to your 4HOnline Family account to submit enrollment for each member of your family - participating Youth and Adults (*Adults only if a volunteer). Go to and select "I have a profile" and enter the and password you created last year. If you ve forgotten your password, select I forgot my password and follow the instructions. Once at your family homepage, work through each member's page to complete/update personal information, authorizations and project information. PLEASE MAKE SURE CLUB AND PROJECT INFORMATION IS UP TO DATE! Pay special attention to your "Years in 4-H" and be sure to add each project a member is/has been involved in. There is no option to pay online. The participation annual fee for $20 per individual/ $60 per family will still be collected by club leaders. Reenrollment deadline is December 31, If needed, scholarships are available. Please contact the 4-H Office for details. Community Leaders: You must reenroll in order to have access to your club s information. Once approved by County staff, your access will be restored. Please remember that reenrolled members will remain as pending until payment is received in the 4-H Office. Awards packets can be downloaded at All award applications must be received by the 4-H office on or before Saturday, September 23. Now is the time to start working on them. 6 6 MSU Pre-College Scholarship Applications Due October 9, 2017 Michigan State University offers a scholarship opportunity for exceptional students who participate in an MSU Precollege program. 4-H offers four programs that qualify for this scholarship opportunity: Great Lakes and Natural Resources Camp, Discovery Camp, Capitol Experience, and Exploration Days. Students selected receive a one-time $2,000 Pre-College Achievement Scholarship (PAS) upon admission to MSU as an undergraduate degree-seeking student. Those who qualify will receive an application from the 4-H Office. Please be aware of the application deadline of Oct 9. We must receive them by 5:00 pm in the 4-H Office. Join a 4-H Committee Our 4-H community requires dedicated leadership in order for our local program to thrive. We have 6 councils and committees that will be seeking youth and adult volunteers to serve over the coming year. I challenge EVERY 4-H club to make nominations to these leadership roles to ensure the future of 4-H is bright in Ingham County. Not only is serving on a committee a great leadership opportunity, it also helps you stay connected and informed. Nominations and applications for some of these roles are due September 1st or will happen during scheduled meetings during September. 4-H Council Committee meets 3rd Wednesday each month. Acceptance of new members and nominations/elections during September meeting. 4-H Horse Committee Every club that participates in Horse & Pony project area is expected to have at least 1 representative at every meeting (in the event that a vote is taken, each club may have 2 adult and 2 youth votes). Committee meets 2nd Wednesday each month. 4-H Teen Ambassadors Seeking teen representatives ages who have a desire to promote the 4-H program and develop leadership skills. Ambassadors serve a one year commitment and meet throughout the year as well as attend the regularly scheduled 4-H Council meetings. Applications due Oct 1st***. Michigan Association of Fairs & Exhibition Scholarship Applications Due Oct 1, H Livestock Committee Committee meets 1st Wednesday in Sept, Nov, Jan, Mar, May, and July. We have one adult at-large representative opening. For more information, please contact the 4-H Office. 4-H Goat Council Seeking youth and adult representatives from each club. Officers elected annually at October meeting. Committee meets in Oct, Dec, Feb, Apr, Jun and Aug. 4-H Shooting Sports Committee Seeking teen representatives, adult volunteers, and shooting sports instructors and leaders: annually elect officers at the first meeting following Fair. Meeting schedule to be announced. The Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions is offering six (6), $1000 scholarships to youth who have participated in their local fairs at least the previous three years. Scholarships are open to applications that are high school seniors or currently enrolled in an institution of advance learning such as a college, university or trade school. Proceeds from sales go toward national, state, and local 4-H programs where the store is located.
7 STATEWIDE CALENDAR OF EVENTS 7 Michigan 4-H Small Animals Workshop This workshop will be held at Kettunen Center ( on September 23-24, H adult leaders and members (11 years of age as of Jan. 1, 2017 and older) interested in rabbits, cavies and/or poultry projects are encouraged to attend to: Gain fun, hands-on experience. Learn new ideas for projects and other fun activities. Explore science-based information in rabbit, cavy and poultry management. Enhance knowledge and skill in the rabbits, cavies and/or poultry project areas.

10 Ingham County Fair Results Thanks to all the 4-H members, volunteers and parents for a wonderful Fair week. Congratulations to these special award winners as reported to the 4-H office by the Superintendents: Troy Nealey Memorial Award Winners: Lance Corporal Troy D. Nealey, of the United States Marine Corps, age 24, a former Ingham County 4-H member, was killed in action on October 29, 2006, in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq. This award was established at his request to recognize Ingham County 4-H members participating with large livestock showmanship, specifically beef, swine and sheep. These are 4-H project areas that Troy participated in for 10 years as a 4-H member. Recognition: Cash awards are presented in beef, sheep and swine showmanship as follows: First place senior division: $500 First place intermediate division: $300 First place junior division: $200 Youth honorees are also recognized on a memorial plaque honoring Troy located in the main arena at the Ingham County Fairgrounds. If you would like to donate in honor of Troy, please mail your check to the Ingham County Fair Foundation, 700 E.
