1 FINAL MEET INFORMATION Please read the meet information. In particular, review parking and drop off instructions with your driver and make sure your athletes check in on time for all events. With regard to bus parking it is different for every meet. This week due to expected inclement weather the grass lot used for our last meet is not available, buses will be sent to the Key Road Lot over by our football stadium. For practice on Friday they will need to drop and leave or go to holding lot on key road. They will not be able to sit there while you practice. We will not add athletes who do not check in on time. If they are in multiple events (field and running) it is up to you to make sure they are checked in. Weather may be a factor if we send a schedule adjustment, including the day of, it will go to the address you have in Direct Athletics. Please make sure the staff member who has that address is forwarding it to your staff as needed. Of course, we will make announcements. As our indoor building is not cleared for occupancy we will not be moving the high jump or vault inside in event of inclement weather (next year we will). First, the good news. We accepted ALL Track and Field event entries. Entries are attached. Heats and Flights and Progressions will be posted Thursday evening at and Please get late scratches to us by noon on Thursday as they will make the meet go smoother. Send them to Allden@mailbox.sc.edu Final Schedule is attached to this . Please note we will pause all competition on the track and infield for the 4:00 Senior Recognition. The throwing events in the throw complex will continue during the senior recognition. Spike size and check. To protect our track from damage athletes will not be allowed to wear spikes of the wrong size or type. The use of unapproved equipment can result in disqualification. They will be tagged and checked each day. See attached meet info. They don t have to be MF brand but they do have to meet the specs. Spectator admission will not be charged, but coaches, staff and athletes will be issued wrist bands at the check in table which will allow appropriate access to the warm-up area and the infield. Make sure the first coach arriving at the meet is capable of picking up the team packet. Athletes will only be allowed to enter through the athlete check in gate. Coaches and staff will get wrist bands that will let them access the infield. Please stay in the designated areas as we have field events on the infield. Athletes will be allowed on the infield only for their events. See maps for check-in, warm-up and tent set-up locations. Friday Practice. If you are arriving Friday, we will have open track hours for shakeout and light practice from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Please adhere to this window as our team needs to practice and our operations people need to set-up. Additionally. spike check will be conducted. See the note below, drop off for weigh-in will be available at this time. Weigh-in will be available Saturday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM and implements need to be turned in 2 hours prior to your event s scheduled start time. Weigh-in for all implements will also be available from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday. They will be conducted at the tent on the lower throw field. Packet Pick-up is at the athlete check-in entrance gate on the lower level. See attached drop off info. It will start at 7:00 AM each day. Note unattached athletes need to pay or there coach needs to pay unattached entry fee at the check-in table and get a bib number and receipt. Note they cannot compete without this bib number. Late scratches are welcome by noon Thursday. Otherwise please scratch at the clerks table upon arrival. All events will be seeded and heated except the 200 and 4x400. Athletes in the 200 and relay teams must check-in 30 min prior to the scheduled start time for these events. If they do not do so they will not get a lane, as heats will not be drawn up until after check-in. They need to return 15 min prior to the start time for hip numbers. They can check those on the white board and then ask for them at the table. If you have athletes in the last or second to last heat in each event they need to be alert at check-in and the line as they may be moved up to fill a lane left vacant due to late scratches or no shows. Folks in the adjacent neighborhood expect to be able to park in front of their houses so please fill designated areas first. In addition, see facility map. 3 BUS DROP OFF AND PARKING TEAM BUS PARKING AND DROP OFF Team vehicles should proceed south down South Marion street. The lot located at 200 South Marion St. will be used for a temporary bus drop off and pick up lane. After unloading, teams will proceed down the steps to the check in table. Buses looking to park should head to the grass lot behind the parking garage located at 1300 Heyward street. Some overflow team parking is available at the AD9 lot on Whaley Street, as indicated on the map below. Buses must travel in the appropriate directions at all times during drop off. 4 END OF DAY BUS PICKUP END OF DAY BUS PICKUP At the end of each meet day there will be a high volume of team vehicles attempting to pick up athletes. At the start of the last event each day, the bus lane in the Roost Parking lot will be converted for pickup. After the bus lane is filled, teams should begin parking along the right lane curb on South Marion St. heading towards Heyward St. Additional bus parking can be found along the right lane curb on Heyward St. Please assist us in loading in this manner to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
