2 GRT Ultramarathon & Trail Race Butler County, PA will host the third Glacier Ridge Trail (GRT) Ultramarathons and Trail Race April 13, 2012 Glacier Ridge/North Country Trail within Moraine State Park and the Jennings Environmental Center Based on results from our past events: More than 300 runners are expected to participate at the distances of: 30 KM 50 KM 50 miles

3 GRT Participants GRT participants are unique endurance athletes who will: Navigate rocks, roots, mud, weather, hills, and darkness for up to 14 hours Virtually non-stop To achieve their personal goal which might be simply to reach the finish line before the cutoff time.

4 GRT Participants In many cases, runners will be accompanied to Butler County by friends and family members. More than 500 runners, family members and friends, and volunteers are expected to be a part of the GRT

5 Who Benefits? The GRT is presented by GRT Ultra, Inc. Proceeds from the GRT will once again benefit the Moraine Preservation Fund (MPF) The Moraine, McConnell s Mills and Jennings Commission (3MJC)

6 Who Benefits? MPF and 3MJC are non-profit, volunteer organizations that conduct maintenance, park improvement, and environmental education and stewardship programs within Moraine State Park, McConnell s Mill State Park, and the Jennings Environmental Education Center.

7 2012 Event Statistics 266 Runners From 16 states and Canada toed the line for one of the three race distances Local Community 1-3 Hrs. Travel Over 3 Hours

8 Feedback from the Event 85% of the athletes indicated they ll be back in 2013 We are increasing the field limit to 300, anticipating a race-day field of 300 runners All profits made from the race go directly back to the non-profit organizations, MPF and 3MJC that support the race.

16 Other Promotional Opportunities Food and beverages are needed for the start/finish area and aid stations. Discount coupons, product samples, or other promotional items are needed for the race registration packets that are provided to all GRT participants. A minimum of 300 pieces are required. Additional pieces may be provided for volunteers and race spectators at the start/finish area.
