3 New in 2013 Security checkpoints and bag screening Prior to entering Grant Park on race day, everyone must pass through designated security and bag screening checkpoints. For event staff and volunteers, your event-issued credential will act as your personal identifier and must be worn and visible at all times. If you are checking in at the Harrison Volunteer Compound, your Volunteer Confirmation will act as your personal identifier. All bags will be screened by security personnel prior to entering Grant Park. Limiting what you bring with you into the Park, or opting not to carry a bag, will expedite the bag screening process and will help maintain an efficient flow of people into the Park. Volunteers checking in at the Harrison Volunteer Compound must check their bags at the Volunteer Gear Check located within that facility. Please make sure that you arrive early on race morning to account for the additional time it will take to pass through security.

4 New in 2013 Grant Park entrance/checkpoint locations The designated entrances and security checkpoints for event staff and volunteers will be located at: Jackson Drive and Michigan Avenue (Gate #1) Harrison Street and Michigan Avenue (Gate #4) Balbo Drive and Michigan Avenue (not a public entrance) Four main entrances and security checkpoints for participants and spectators will be located at: Jackson Drive and Michigan Avenue (Gate #1) West-bound Congress Parkway and Michigan Avenue (Gate #2) East-bound Congress Parkway and Michigan Avenue (Gate #3) Harrison Street and Michigan Avenue (Gate #4)

5 New in 2013 Packet pick-up All participants must pick up their own Participant Packets at the Health & Fitness Expo during regularly schedule hours of operation. Individuals can no longer pick up Packets on behalf of others. Race-issued Gear Check bags The only bag that participants will be allowed to bring inside the perimeter of Grant Park and to check at Gear Check will be their clear plastic event-issued Participant Bag. Backpacks, luggage and other non-event-issued bags will not be accepted at Gear Check.

These athletes are top local, regional and national runners who may be competing for personal best times or noteworthy performances, but not necessarily top overall placement among the elite field. 10 Health & Fitness Expo Friday, October 11: Saturday, October 12: 9 a.m. 8 p.m. 9 a.m. 6 p.m. McCormick Place, North Building, Hall B1 The Health & Fitness Expo includes more than 200 exhibitors featuring the newest designs in running footwear and apparel, as well as the latest development in sports, fitness and nutrition. The Expo is where all participants pick up their Participant Packet, Participant Bag and T-shirt. 135,000 people visit/walk the show 240,000 sq/ft of exhibit hall

17 Course Aid Stations 20 Aid Stations are located along the course approximately one to two miles apart. Each Aid Station includes the following amenities in this order: Medical Tent with access to a Runner Transport vehicle, toilet facilities, Gatorade Endurance Formula (lemon-lime flavor) and water. 19 Post-Race Party Bank of America Chicago Marathon 27th Mile Post-Race Party Butler Field 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon 27th Mile Post-Race Party will be held immediately following the race featuring live music, food and drinks. The Post- Race Party is free and open to the public. Live music by The Gold Coast All Stars 10:30 a.m. 3 p.m. 312 Urban Wheat Ale Beer sales 10 a.m. 3 p.m.

20 Charity Program The Bank of America Chicago Marathon hosts thousands of runners each year who choose to make their Chicago Marathon experience more meaningful by running on behalf of a charity. Since 2002, the Charity Program has raised over $100 million for local, domestic and international causes.
