2 The Coolangatta Gold 2018 is managed by three core committees that encompass the whole Event; these include the Event Organising Committee, the Competition Committee and the Safety & Emergency Committee. The preparations and planning for the Event will be governed by the following committee: - Coolangatta Gold Event Organising Committee (CGEOC) The delivery of the Event will be governed by the following committees: - Coolangatta Gold Competition Committee/ Race Control (CGCC) - Safety & Emergency Committee (SEC) Within each Area there is a micro-management structure that reports into the above structures. 3 COOLANGATTA GOLD EVENT ORGANISING COMMITTEE The Coolangatta Gold Event Organising Committee (CGEOC) is responsible for all operational planning and logistics of the Coolangatta Gold The Event Organising Committee formally hands over governance of the Event to the Competition Committee prior to the commencement of the Event. The CGCC may, subject to the rules of the Event (Event Conditions) and in conjunction with SLSA s Constitution and Regulations, the current edition of the SLSA Surf Sports Manual (Downloads > Sport > Surf Sports Manuals) any subsequent amending bulletins and this circular, postpone, cancel and/or alter the Event, and alter the venue of the competition. A review of the following will be conducted at each Competition Committee meeting: a) Risk Assessment of the current conditions of the beach and back of beach area b) Injury management statistics c) Current weather predictions d) Competition statistics The CGCC may consult and seek advice from appropriate officials, athletes and other personnel on local weather, surf conditions and safety issues when required. The CGCC shall appoint the various sub committees and panels as required for the Event (for example, Disciplinary Committee etc). The CGCC is responsible for enacting the contingency plan for the Coolangatta Gold The Referee and the Safety and Emergency Management Coordinator are responsible to the CGCC for recommendations concerning competition safety. The Safety Operations Manual developed for this event is to be applied by the Referee in considering and making recommendations, in consultation with relevant emergency services and lifesaving authorities Coolangatta Gold - Officials Appointments v1 3

The Chair of the Committee shall be the Safety and Emergency Management Coordinator who shall also be a member of the CGEOC and the CGCCC. The composition of the Safety and Emergency Committee will be determined by SLSA or the relevant AEOC.
