Box 256 Ettalong NSW 2257 Woy Woy Peninsula Branch meet on the 3rd Friday of each month at the Everglades Country Club Dunban Rd Woy Woy. You re welcome to join members for dinner from 6 pm and the social meeting starts at 7.30 pm. Ride days are on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month and all rides depart McDonalds Woy Woy at 9 am...unless special departure times apply. A really big thanks to Mike and the team at Peninsular Office Supplies for printing our Branch Newsletter.

3 President s Report Page 3 SPUD The weather has not been anyone s friend this month. The storms that lashed the Central Coast left many of us without power for days on end, some worse than others, up to 8 days. Tree s seemed to be the main cause of the power problems. Luckily no one (that I have heard) has sustained any real serious damage to their home s or more importantly their bikes. I had spoken to the Ride Leader (Brad) on Friday for the ride on the 3rd May, we were both concerned that the weather was not going to improve for that day, so it was better to cancel the planned ride for that day. ANZAC Day: The weather that day was excellent. I was fortunate enough to be apart of the VETRANS MC ANZAC Day ride with a few other members of this branch. It was a very long day, meeting up with other s at the twin servo s at 8am then heading to Menai. The ride departed at Midday from Menai, on to Heathcote Rd, on to the Princess Hwy, down to Picton Rd all the way into Picton then heading to The Oaks where we stopped to have a quick bite to eat. Then the black clouds rolled in fast. It then became a bit of a free for all to get back to Menai before the weather turned bad. Everyone that took part in that ride all returned safely. The final count of bikes that participated was 164. It was an awesome sight to see and to be a part of. Definitely that is one ride that I could recommend to everyone to do. Also, it Supports Your Local Veteran's. No one yet, has come forward for ride leads, we NEED RIDE LEADER S. We have many ride days still vacant. I would hate to think that every planned ride turns into a Mystery or Wonder Ride. Unfortunately, nothing much is happening as a branch at the moment due to weather and long weekends (Easter). However, if someone decides they feel like to go on a ride and wants to include the branch, let me know, and I will also try to help to get the word out. Be safe, Ride Safe & Enjoy Regards, Marcus Murphy (Spud) President: Woy Woy Peninsula Branch VIDEO EZY UMINA Geoff Parsons Director West Street Mobil: Umina Beach NSW Phone (02) Fax (02)

4 Secretary s Report Page 4 Mousie A quieter month this month and would just like to include dates for the next 3 upcoming AGMs. The next AGM is in Tasmania, which will be an exciting ride down with beautiful roads and weather to enjoy. The Tassie group from our Branch is planning to go from 20/2/16 to approximately 9/3/16. (Please see Monica, Narelle or myself for more details). At the Albury/Wodonga Extended AGM, we were informed by those organising the Tassie AGM, that their motto is "The Devils Playground" and that the Spirit of Tasmania bookings are booking out very quickly as well as accommodation in Tasmania. Those planning to go outside of the organised group, need to be mindful of this AGM will be at Port Macquarie from 22/5/17 to 29/5/17. This AGM will actually be in Wauchope, as Port Macquarie has more accommodation. (Drum roll please...) the 2018 AGM is going to be in the Riverlands area of South Australia! Event will actually be based in Barmera, which has no cities nearby, but surrounded by 5 country towns. More details will be provided as they become available. I, for one, am very interested in riding to this AGM. You may notice that on page 9 of the Newsletter, there is a mention of a Social Events Calendar. This is to allow for quick and inclusive communication of social events Members may be interested in attending. Please see Lois or contact her by . 6 Page 6 Ride Report The Wisemans - Berowra Ferry Loop 19th April 2015 What a great day!!! All the weather reports were totally wrong. I woke to a dark but fairly clear morning, expecting to see a wet driveway and rain not so : not yet anyway. So I sent text messages to as many as I could. Turned out to be a great day for our planned ride. 21 people on 19 bikes including Gary on his brand new Harley, made the effort to come along and I also had a few apologies. Bad luck, if you missed it.. I thought a short visit to see Dominic would be a great idea, so Steve led us up to Kariong and wasn t Dominic totally surprised along with all his neighbours in the street coming out to see what all the commotion was about. He is feeling quite a lot better now Go Dom. Onwards we rode to Spencer Café for our rest and coffee stop with scones, jam and cream for some, Yum. The sky was still a great shade of blue and no chance of rain in sight. After crossing Wisemans Ferry it was onto Glenorie and our lunch stop at the RSL. The Manager gave us priority parking on an old bowling green, we were greatly welcomed by all the staff at the Club. The lunches would have to be the best value anywhere, too much for many of us to finish and cost only 12 bucks. We ll be back. The return trip was over the Berowra Ferry with an afternoon coffee stop for some and others doing the F3 fang straight home. Truly a great and unexpected days ride. So get planning for the next one. Then we were totally smashed by cyclonic winds and rain the very next day, with many trees down, lots of local flooding, loss of power to many homes, what a mess. A total disaster for the Central Coast.

7 Page 7 Ride Report As there was no ride on the 3rd due to the continuing wet weather, I had to fill in the space here on page 7 with something. So for all those going on the Port Macquarie/ Walcha Ride next week, here s a sample of what you can expect on this ride and for those not going, this is what you are missing out on. These photos are from last years ride. Hi Once Again, First up a huge Congratulations to Marcus & Annette on their engagement announcement, according to certain sources, all was good on a Sydney Harbour Cruise to celebrate the occasion, we wish you both well for the future & beyond. Well what a massive week of Cyclone weather, if that s a category 2, I don t ever want to be caught in a bigger one, I hope you all have cleaned up, & now settling back to normal life once again, for us personally no power for 4 days, the old camping gear came in very handy, & big thanks to my mate Phil for keeping our batteries charged for the fridge etc, We had a beautiful 50 yr old peppercorn with a lovely stagg attached also 40 years old, just lifted up & ripped out of the ground onto the patio roof, There was no power loss at the Dry Cleaners & the Laundry was flat out for 2 weeks $$$$$$... Phil & myself attended the first couple of Committee meetings to just assist with the transfer over for the new Committee, they are settling in well, of course Mal is the Stalwart with 4 years up his sleeve now, I am sure if they work together as a team they will achieve the results to steer this branch into the next 12 months, working together is imperative to the success of all Committee s, especially the liaison of the President & Secretary, hence the friendship that Phil & I share to this day. My Joke. A man goes to the nursing home to visit his 84 year-old father. While there he notices the nurse is giving his father hot chocolate and Viagra. The man asks, "Why are you doing that? I mean, at his age what will it do for him?" The nurse explains, "The hot chocolate will help him sleep." The man says, "And the Viagra?" "Keeps him from falling out of bed."
