The center is almost complete and we are looking forward to actually being Iup and running by the end of July. The floors, bathrooms, and kitchen will need to be completed as well as furnishings. We are looking forward to the opening. The bath house has been up and running and the residents have been enjoying the pool. If you are a non-resident you may pick up an application at the pool or dhartman@legumnorman.com for an application. I believe everyone will be pleased with the colors the Board of Directors has chosen for the center. They are warm and friendly and give the center a wonderful brand new look! We have completed much-needed fence repairs and we are addressing other issues of trespassing within the community. We want the community to feel safe and free from travelers through their property to other locations. The Board of Directors could use some help. 13 Wellington Pool Rules Page 13 (Amended 5/27/08) 1. The Association is represented by the managers and lifeguards, who have been instructed in the rules of the pool. Any conflicts shall be addressed with the pool manager or assistant manager ONLY, who will bring the issue to the Association if it cannot be satisfactorily resolved. 2. Certified lifeguards will be on duty at all times the pool is open. They have the authority to use their discretion to enforce the rules to maintain a safe and healthy environment. The manager is in charge of the pool and is there for the protection of persons using the pool. The manager has the authority to order the removal from the pool of anyone when safety is threatened. When such removal from the pool occurs, the pool manager will forward a copy of the incident report to the Association's designated representative who will note the removal in that person's facilities access records. Once three such removals are noted in the access records, the holder of the pass will be denied access to the pool. The holder of the pass must appear before the Board of Directors who will determine any action taken with regard to pool privileges. The manager may prohibit entry to anyone for up to 30 days for each violation or for a 1-year period with authorization of the Board of Directors. No refund for monies for use of the pool will be made. 3. Safety is of primary concern to the Association and its members. All persons using the pool do so at their own risk and agree to abide by the rules for use of the facility. The Association assumes no responsibility for any accident or injury in connection with such use or for any loss or damage to personal property. Members (unit owners, tenants, and non-residential members) are responsible for the action of their children and guests at all times. 4. Children under thirteen (13) years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person sixteen (16) years of age or older while in the pool area. 5. No person shall use the pool facilities unless the pool is officially open and lifeguards are on duty. Unauthorized persons found inside the pool enclosure when the pool is closed may lose their privileges for the remainder of the pool season and risk prosecution for trespassing. 6. All bathers shall take a shower bath using soap and warm water and thoroughly rinsing off before entering the pool. (Parents are urged to instruct their children.) This will help keep the water disinfected and sanitized, as well as cut down on costly chemicals. Showers should be limited to no more than 5 minutes. 7. Persons who have obvious infections (colds, lesions, open sores, etc.) will not be allowed in the pool. 8. Swimmers must wear proper swimming attire. No street clothing will be allowed in the pool, including but not limited to cutoffs, dungarees, or similar attire of the type, which will unravel and cause drain clogging. Additionally, street (hard-soled) shoes are prohibited in the pool area. 9. Swim Diapers must be worn by diaper-aged children. 10. Persons must stay clear of guard stations at all times and in no way distract on-duty lifeguards in the chairs. Please direct all concerns to a manager or the lifeguard on the deck. 11. Persons unable to demonstrate an ability to swim will not be permitted in the diving/slide area or in areas of more than a 6'depth. The ability to swim shall be demonstrated by continuously swimming one deep end pool length and treading water one minute.
14 Page No play equipment, play pens, wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs and strollers) are permitted in the pool area. 13. No pets (except seeing-eye dogs with an unsighted person) are permitted in the pool area. 14. Instructional flotation devices may be used at the discretion of the lifeguard. Tubes, rafts, and hard balls are prohibited. Wacky Fun Noodles and large beach balls are allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard. Soft tubes and balls are allowed in the wading pool under adult supervision. Only life jackets approved by the U. S. Coast Guard and 'swimmies' may be worn. Children wearing such aids must be within arm's length of the person, in the water at all times, sixteen (16) years or older who is supervising the child. 15. Running, pushing, wrestling, dunking, and standing or sitting on another's shoulders is prohibited, as this endangers other swimmers. 16. There will be a fifteen (15) minute rest period for children each hour. During this period, children must be completely out of the pool to allow adults 18 and older to swim. No infants or toddlers are allowed in the pool at this time. 17. Children using the wading pool are the responsibility of the parent(s) or escort and must be accompanied and supervised by an adult or escort who is also within the perimeter of the wading pool. Only children who have not yet attained their seventh birthdays are permitted in the wading pool, even during the fifteen-minute adult swim break. 18. The pool may be closed at the discretion of the pool manager on duty in case of thunder, lightning, rain, operational breakdown, or unsanitary conditions. The pool will reopen as soon as conditions would permit. 19. The pool is a family environment. Inappropriate language and behavior will not be tolerated. 20. Radios are not permitted in the pool area. The only exception to this rule is walkman and Ipod type radios with earphones played at a volume that does not disturb others. 21. Swimmers shall not swim in the diving/slide areas except to exit the pool after diving. Swimmers shall always remain clear of the ladders except when entering or exiting the pool. At the discretion of the life guard on duty, he/she may close the diving/slide area and permit open swimming. At this time, the slide and diving board shall be closed. 22. Due to possible damage or injury, holding onto pool ropes is prohibited. 23. Only one person at a time is allowed on the diving board, ladder and inside the slide tube. 24. The previous diver/slider must be allowed to clear the area in front of the diving board. 25. Patrons must wait on the first landing of the slide tower until the person at the top of the slide enters the slide tube. 26. Patrons may not enter the slide tube until previous slide rider exits from the pool. 27. Diving is limited to the forward direction (no inward dives). No diving shall be permitted from the side of the diving board or pool walls. 28. Slide patrons must ride in face up, feet first position with arms crossed over chest and legs crossed at ankles. 29. Slide patrons must immediately surface after sliding and exit at the deep end ladder nearest the slide.
15 Page 16 Swimming lessons will be offered this summer at the pool. Contact for more information on the lessons. 30. After a dive, the diving area must be promptly cleared by exiting the pool using the ladder on that side of the pool. 31. Only one bounce is permitted on the diving board. 32. Running dives from the deck are prohibited. 33. Children 4 ft. and taller may use the slide, if they have demonstrated the ability swim as outlined in Rule # Slide patrons may not wear life jackets, eyeglasses, goggles or jewelry on the water slide. 35. Patrons may not wear water shoes, or swimwear with buttons, snaps, belts or other sharp objects on water slide. 36.
