2 OCONEE SWIM LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET Saturday, June 24, 2017 Facility: The OSL Championship Meet will be held at UGA s Gabrielsen Natatorium in the Ramsey Student Activities Center. The address is 330 River Road, Athens, GA While it is an indoor, state of the art facility, it is a pool, and therefore it will be warm. Please observe the following facility rules: No activity permitted in the hallways. All children must be directly supervised at all times including trips to the restrooms. Only water bottles will be permitted on the pool deck no food or other drinks. No chairs, coolers, or tents may be brought into the facility. Tobacco products and alcohol are not allowed in the Center. Only swimmers, coaches and event volunteers are permitted on the pool deck. The University of Georgia has implemented a new Policy for Programs and Activities Serving Minors. Because of the nature of the OSL Championship Meet, it is expected that a parent, or someone acting on behalf of the parent, be present for the duration of the meet. Coaches and staff members cannot assume custody of your child in your absence. For more information, visit programsforminors.uga.edu/policy. Supplies: Parking: Seating: Don t forget, you may want to bring an extra set of goggles and a swim cap as well as an activity or two to keep swimmers busy between their races (cards, puzzles, etc.) Parking is free on the weekend in the UGA East Campus Parking Deck and in the adjacent surface lot to the Ramsey Student Center and in the surface lot. Each team has assigned seating for the meet. These sections will be clearly marked. The Natatorium provides bleacher style seating, so cushioned seats are in order. First Aid: Concessions: Pictures: First aid will be available at any of the lifeguard stands or in the lifeguard office located on the pool deck. There will be a concession stand, provided staff and supplied by the facility, selling snacks and drinks. The concession stand is located on the facility concourse directly in back of the seating. Photos of the following, will be taken at the conclusion of the meet near the diving well: A team picture will be taken of the championship team. A picture will also be taken of individual swimmers who set a new county record in an event A picture will also be taken of those relays that set a new county record. Meet Results: Results will be posted in the wall of windows adjacent to the concession stands (concourse) for spectators and on the pool deck near the lifeguard office for the swimmers and coaches. T-Shirts: EagleSportz will be available on the concourse, providing a variety of swim-inspired T-shirt designs, including the official 2017 Championship logo.

4 VOLUNTEERS: The County meet is divided into three volunteer shifts (vs. the summer norm of 2). Please pay attention and make sure you are at the ready to take over when you are called to the deck. Each team has volunteers who work the meet in proportion to the size of the team. Each team is also asked to bring their stopwatches, with fresh batteries, with them. Main Shift Assignments: We have maintained consistent staffing throughout the meet, so that each team can trade off to another member of their own team. We hope this will make the volunteer changes move more smoothly. Sessions will conclude after events 22 and 54. Each Session: The Shamrock Friendship Reynolds Per Session 4 timers, 1 bullpen worker, 1 runner 5 timers, 1 bullpen worker, 1 runner, 1 results posting assistant 4 timers, 1 bullpen worker, 1 bullpen coordinator, 1 runner 3 timers, 1 bullpen worker-2 nd and 3 rd sessions, 1 runner- 2 nd and 3 rd sessions 2 backup timers, 1 bullpen- 1 st session, 1 runner- 1 st session 16 timers, 4 bullpen workers, 4 runners, 2 back-up timers & 1 result assistant Each team will a list of volunteers to Angie Ash (angieash@mac.com) and a master list will be made. Upon arrival, each volunteer will check in at the Volunteer Table in the concourse and get a name tag. Volunteer meetings will begin at 12:15 on the pool deck. Heat Sheets: Scoring: Heat Sheet sales will be an additional volunteer position which will need to be manned. 11:15am-12:15pm Shamrock and (1 volunteer each) 12:15pm-1:15pm The (2 volunteers) Team Scoring: The meet will score 3 swimmers per team, per individual event A team may only have one relay team score per relay event. Individual events, placement and scoring: The top 6 swimmers score points (the top 8 receive ribbons). o First place = 7 points o Second place = 5 points o Third place = 4 points o Fourth place = 3 points o Fifth place = 2 points o Sixth place = 1 point Relay events, placement and scoring: The top 4 swimmers score points (the top 6 receive ribbons). o First place = 9 points o Second place = 5 points o Third place = 3 points o Fourth place = 1 points Tied times: In the event of a tie, the points for the two places will be averaged and awarded. Two awards for the higher of the 2 places will be given in the event of a tie.
