NO PLAYER WILL BE ASKED TO MISS CLASS OR STUDY HALL FOR INTERVIEWS AND AT NO TIME WILL A PLAYER S HOME OR CELL PHONE NUMBER BE GIVEN TO THE ME- DIA. Mississippi Valley State coaches and players will be available for post-game interviews following a brief cooling off period. For football, MVSU interviews are conducted either on the field or in the MVSU Football Interview Room located in the Devil s Den. The visiting coach and players will be available in the visitor locker-room area with assistance from the visiting SID. For basketball, MVSU interviews are conducted on the court at a designated area of press row. The visiting coach and players will be available in the visitor lockerroom area with the assistance from the visiting SID. For all other sports, contact the sport contact for the sport after the game to arrange post-game interviews at the site. Media representatives are advised to contact the visiting SID with special requests. MEDIA CREDENTIALS Working press and photographer credenti als for MVSU s home games will be handled by the MVSU Athletic Communications Director. All credenti als requests should be made in writi ng by sports editors or sports directors of accredited media outlets on company letterhead. All requests should be made as early as possible and should be limited to working press only. Requests made within six days of the game will be placed as non-priority and cannot be guaranteed. The credential authorizes the use by an accredited organization for news coverage of the game for which it was issued. Any unauthorized use of credenti als subjects the bearer to ejection from the area of competition and subjects the accredited organization to revocation of its credentials for future MVSU athleti c events. The following policies have been adopted by Mississippi Valley State University for credentials and allowing access to practices and interviews for internet sites: Only MVSU s site and the official Web site of the opponent will be issued passes for those events that require credentials. Other than official sites of those two entities, the following guidelines must be met for minimum consideration: The agency requesting credentials is the official online service of a national overthe-air or cable network or established publication and is staffed by full-time employees (ESPN, CNN/SI, CBS Sportsline, etc.). Web sites that sponsor message boards, message centers, or chat rooms where people are allowed to post anonymous information and rumors may or may not be considered for credentials. If a medium has an online site and they sponsor these anonymous forums, they may continue to request credentials under its traditional medium (newspaper, magazine, radio, and television). FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL PRACTICES In most instances, MVSU s practices are open to media for the first 15 minutes. Television stations and still photographers are welcome to shoot certain parts of the practice session, usually the first 15 minutes. Please see the Athletic Communications Office when you arrive on campus to clear the parts of practice that are open for photo and video. PLAYER INTERVIEWS Players are available for interviews in person and by telephone until after practice on Wednesdays. The best times to visit with players in person are Tuesdays or Wednesdays following practice. In-person interviews or telephone interviews should be arranged through the Athletic Communications Office via at kcmister@mvsu.edu or by calling (662) PRE-PRACTICE TV INTERVIEWS The head coach will meet with television reporters for on-camera interviews 10 minutes before the start of each practi ce. In order to accommodate TV ti me schedules, there will be a five-minute window immediately before the start of practi ce for TV reporters to obtain player interviews not to exceed two minutes with a maximum of two players. POST-PRACTICE PLAYER INTERVIEWS Post-practice interviews may be arranged by contacting the Athletic Communications Office. The players will be available at a pre-determined location after their obligations have been completed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Interviews will be permitted aft er Wednesday only under special circumstances and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. POST-GAME COACH AND PLAYER INTERVIEWS The Head Coach and selected players will be available for postgame interviews at their locker room following a 10-minute cooling off period.
