1 March 23 rd 2018 The President Volleyball and Beach Volleyball Clubs Dear Sir/Madam EASTER MELE BEACH CUP The Saint Lucia Volleyball Association s invites you to a spectacular local event in the form of an EASTER MELE BEACH CUP to be held on the 7 th and 8 th of April, This tournament is open to pairs and will be held at Pigeon Island Park near Landings, Gros-Islet. Each Team should submit their names at the earliest. Registration is complete when players have submitted their registration form and paid the applicable fees in FULL. Please find below the tournament rules and regulations. 1. The Tournament will take place ideally over two days. From the Saturday to the Sunday starting at 9 am on each day. 2. The standard FIVB Beach Volleyball rules and regulations will be applicable. These rules can be downloaded at: 3. All players should familiarize themselves with the rules and sanctions before registering. Players below the age of 21 should pay particular attention to rule The tournament will be the best of three (3) sets. (However alternatives may be used depending on the number of Teams who register). 5. Registration fee is $25.00 per player. Registration ends on the 5 th of April Late Registration will not be accepted. 6. No meals will be provided. Players are encouraged to walk with their necessary dietary requirements.

2 7. Players must be in uniform with the numbers 1 and 2 printed/stuck/written on their front and back. Please see the attached Standard Beach Uniform layout. 8. Players will be given the playing schedule on the 6 th of April 2018 at a technical meeting. Failure to be ON-TIME at the start of the scheduled match will result in forfeit and a loss of registration fees. 9. Registration will not be allowed after the 5 th of April, NO EXCEPTIONS. This is in order to allow the Local Organizing Committee to create the Tournament Schedule in advance. 10. Final details of the tournament format will be indicated on the 6 th of April, 2018 at a Technical Meeting to be announced. Any alterations to these above rules will be communicated to players on or before the start of the tournament. 12. All teams will be required to run lines, ball retrieve or score regardless if they have a scheduled match later in the day or not. A schedule with these duties will be later posted and subject to changes as the tournament progresses. 13. Monetary prizes will be awarded to 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place positions for each gender. 1 st place - $250.00, 2 nd place - $ and 3 rd place $ Medals will also be awarded. 14. No players under the age of 21 can collect a monetary prize. Prizes for these players will be given to the club of their choice through the President of the Saint Lucia Volleyball Association. 15. In the eventuality of first loss by a team in the finals (double elimination format) a golden set to 21 points will be played. 16. Any participant taking part in this tournament plays at his or her own risk and SLVA, the beach committee or its affiliates is not to be held responsible for any injury or loss occurring from any activity associated with this event.
