Marie then tested Conkie again, after being teed up by Smart, but the hat-trick heroes effort was tipped round the post by Conkie. But as the clock ticked down it looked as though Bootle were going to collect all three points and extend their winning run to four games - but in an already frantic and dramatic game, there was one final twist to come in the ninety first minute. Ryan Stewart's free kick was initially headed off the line by Smart, but the ball fell perfectly to Dilan Lomas whose first time volley went through a crowd of bodies and into the the back of the Bootle net to rescue his side a point. Bucks Bow out of Vase 03/10/15 Bootle bowed out the FA Vase on Saturday after suffering a disappointing two one defeat away at Dronfield Town. The Bucks travelled to Derbyshire looking to continue their impressive form; however, despite a bright start they produced a disappointing display on an afternoon Joe Doran and his side will want to forget. Despite the disappointing display Bootle dominated the opening stages of the game, penning their hosts back in their own half for the large parts, but they ultimately failed to capitalise on their dominance. On sixty seven minutes the hosts did break the deadlock. Michael Akhave - Hazan's corner found the unmarked Joe Butler who bundled the ball home from inside the six-yard box. And with nine minutes remaining, things got worse for the Bucks as the hosts doubled their lead. Daniel Hoyland pounced on a lose ball on the edge of the Bootle box before firing into the bottom corner of Moran's net. However, with the clock approaching ninety minutes, the Bucks handed themselves a life line. Dave Moran's released Tom Peterson with a superbly weighted pass that any outfield player would have been proud of. Peterson then coolly composed himself before finishing into the bottom corner of the net. Town defence held firm to end any dreams the Bucks had of visiting Wembley come May. Bears Put Three Past Bucks 06/10/15 Bootle fell to their second defeat in four days, with a 3-0 defeat away Congleton Town. The Bucks fell behind through Scott McGowan's strike three minutes before the half time interval. Before Brian Matthews converted from the penalty spot on seventy two minutes, to put the hosts in the driving seat. And with eleven minutes reaming, the Bears wrapped the game up thanks to Decal Fletcher's goal.

Bucks Suffer Late Heartbreak 26/09/15 Sucker-punched in the first minute of injury time. Saturday's game felt like a defeat for Bootle, having lead and battled for so long, the Bucks looked destined to collect all three points, but Dilan Lomas' injury time strike earned 1874 Northwich a point in a six goal thriller at the Barton Stadium. In a frantic game which saw Bootle pegged back three times by the hosts, after the returning Dominic Marie netted a more than impressive first half hat-trick for the Bucks. Bootle came into the game looking to extend their winning run to four games, and they started the brighter of the two sides here, and went close to opening the scoring when Joe Peacock's long ball was headed into the path of Billy Smart by Jamie Hay, but Smart's effort was blocked by Daniel Thomas went close themselves to taking the lead; but Matthew Ward fired over from inside the Bootle box after connecting with Ryan Jackson's cross. Bootle then created two further chances in a bid to break the deadlock. First Lomas' header back towards his own goal was pounced on by Haligan, but his right footed poke bounced over the bar. Before Smart saw his curling effort comfortably gathered by Matt Conkie in the 1874 goal. However on twenty seven minutes, Bootle broke the deadlock. Michel Ordish pounced on a lose pass, before finding Marie who advanced into the 1874 box before curling the ball into the far corner of Conkie's net. Marie's goal was the start of a frantic eleven minutes which saw a further four goals scored responded well to going a goal down, and went close to equalising when Paul Conner's cross found Stuart Wellstrad inside the Bootle box - but the forwards over-head kick rattled of the cross bar. But a minute later, and the hosts were level. Ryan Jackson pounced on a lose ball on the edge of the Bootle box before letting fly with a left-footed strike which found the far corner of Richie Cowederoy's net. Two minutes later however, and Bootle were back in-front. Marie collected Smart's pass, before cutting inside and unleashing a strike from twenty-five yards out which flew into the net. But the Bucks lead was to only last four minutes as once again 1874 responded. Matt Woolley released Jackson who was brought down by Liam Dodd inside the Bucks box, leaving the referee little option but to point to the penalty spot. Stuart Wellstead stepped up and sent Cowderoy the wrong way to bring his side level. There was more drama before the first half was out, as Bootle retook the lead for the third time in the half. Ordish's corner found its way to Haligan at the back post, who was brought down by Lomas - the foul left the referee little option but to point to the penalty spot. There was no question who was going to take the penalty, as Marie calmly stepped up and placed his effort to complete his hat-trick. As entertaining as the first half was the second half was much more scrappier affair, with the game often turning into more of a battle. Bootle though, went close to adding to their lead when Marie's cross found the head of Dodd, but the defenders header went over. Joel Powell then headed over after connecting with Ordish's free kick. 1874, also had chances, the best of which falling to goal scorer Wellstead. Stewart's long ball released Wellstead, but the forwards low drive went wide of the far post. Hello and welcome to you all. Welcome to all our supporters and the supporters and players of Squires Gate. As it stands tonight we sit 7th in the league but I'd rather not focus on the league position at this moment as, after a spell of good form we now have lost 2 on the spin and that's not good enough. We have lost our way the last couple of games and today we must get back to basics. The results so far are showing that this season the majority of clubs can beat each other. We know we have potential here but we also know there is a lot to learn for our young side. We want to get back to winning ways today and with two home games in succession (today and also Tuesday versus Runcorn Town) we have the perfect chance to get back on track. I thank you for your continued support. Joe

The original Bootle F.C. were formed in 1880 and played at Hawthorne Road. They were in fact Everton FC s biggest rivals. The Bucks where the first ever winners of the Liverpool Senior Cup, had in their ranks the first black footballer in Andrew Watson and regularly had bigger crowds than their neighbours. In Bootle became founder members of the Football Alliance, narrowly missing out on the football league the previous season. That season was the most successful as we finished league runners-up, reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where we lost to Blackburn Rovers (0-7). When the Alliance merged with the Football League in 1892, Bootle became founder members of the new Second Division. However, despite a respectable 8th place final position, the club dropped out after one season due to financial difficulties and the attraction of Everton playing in the First Division. They were replaced by new neighbours, Liverpool. Football returned to the town when a new club was formed with the help of Bootle Council. The club initially played in the Liverpool Leagues until 1948 when the club were elected to the Lancashire Combination 2, which was won at the first attempt. The club was granted a new ground on Maguire Avenue (now known as Bootle Stadium). However, Bootle struggled in the top-flight and after several tough seasons withdrew and folded during the campaign. Without a doubt the headline performance of the weekend was provided by West Didsbury & Chorlton, who recorded the highest ever win by a NWCFL club in League history when they beat Dinnington Town 15-1 in the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round. West were 8-1 up at half time against their opponents from the Central Midlands League North Division, and in the end nine different players got on the scoresheet, with two own goals thrown in for good measure. Well done to West, for entering the history books! There's something about cup ties that bring out the best in Congleton Town this season, with Saturday's 4-3 FA Vase win at Emley the latest in a series of fine cup results in the past few weeks. The Bears were 3-1 down with 15 minutes to go, but two goals from Declan Fletcher and the second of the game for Scott McGowan clinched a fine comeback. The duo have an impressive goalscoring record in cup competitions this season with Fletcher on eight and McGowan seven - Congleton's next opponents should take note. For the second round in a row, Rochdale Town scored six goals in an FA Vase tie, with Saturday's 6-2 win over St Helens Town following on from their amazing 6-5 win over Parkgate in the last round, a game in which they were four goals down in the first half. On that occasion Jonny Thompson and Kristian Evans were both on target twice for Town, and Thompson continued his goalscoring love affair with the Vase on Saturday when he grabbed another double and this time was joined by Scott Alfrey who also scored twice. Town's league form has been inconsistent but they certainly come alive in the Vase. Once again, Atherton Colls enjoyed a good Friday evening crowd at Alder House, with a season's best attendance of 429 turning up for the Flat Cap derby against Atherton LR. The attendance follows ni the footsteps of other good attendances on Friday evenings last season, and as the official Atherton Colls Twitter feed reported - Runcorn Linnets moved to the top of the Premier Division table for the first time this season with a 3-0 win at Ashton Athletic. Always among the promotion favourites in recent seasons, and runners-up in the past two seasons, Linnets made a slower start than expected this season, but now sit on top of the pile once more, and will again be one of the teams to beat in the promotion chase this season.

In 1953, the current club was formed originally as Langton and played in the local leagues. After a very successful spell in the Liverpool County Combination (which was won on numerous occasions) the club reverted back to it s It s better known identity of Bootle FC in A year later the Bucks joined the Lancashire Combination, which was won in 1976 and Bootle then joined the Second Division of the Cheshire County League, which was won in our first season, and we were promoted to the First Division. In 1982 the Cheshire County League was one of the leagues that merged to form the North West Counties League, which Bootle duly joined, becoming a founder member of the First Division. The club spent most of their time in the First Division until 2000 when we unfortunately dropped into the Second Division. However, despite finishing 6th in 2002, the club, having to move away from Bucks Park on Copy Lane, dropped into the Liverpool County Combination. After several seasons of work behind the scenes and survival on the pitch the Bucks finally acquired a new home. In 2006 the club, with a new venue on a developing Vesty Road, the club were elected back into Division 2 of the North West Counties League. In 2009 Bootle won promotion to the NWCL Premier Division and also won the Championship under the guidance of Chris O Brien. In 2009/10, our first season back in the NWCFL Premier Division Bootle finished a NWCFL highest placing of 3rd. In 2010/11 finished 6th place. They equalled the 3rd place again in 2012 this time with Neil Prince at the helm. Prince also lifted the Senior Cup as Bootle manager - the first to do so in 100 years. After an indifferent second season Prince was replaced by Joseph Doran. Doran has gone about to replenish the squad with exciting local young players and all at the club are hoping these lads fulfil their potential.

Blackpool & District Amateur League: 1958 to 1961 Squires Gate were formed in 1948 as Squires Gate British Legion FC and competed in the Blackpool & District Amateur League. They won the leagues Rawling Shield in their first season. The name of the club was changed to Squires Gate FC in They won the leagues First Division in and ; also the Blackwell Cup in and They spent the in the Fylde District League, winning the Fylde Cup and losing finalists in the Bannister Cup. The 4th and 5th goals then came in the last 15 minutes, the 4th goal has been classed as Alice Whorton's as her corner was diverted in by the Winsford defender. The 5th and final goal completed Siobhan Cliff's hat-trick, a good ball played into Siobhan's feet by Meghan Westerside found Siobhan in behind the defenders and she was able to fire the ball into the bottom corner. It was a brilliant performance from the whole team and the girls are now really starting to settle into the league, their unbeaten run from the start of the 2014 league season has continued and they have managed to pick up 2 wins and 2 draws in their opening 4 games. Player of the Match against Winsford went to defender Jess Muirhead for a strong performance at the back and for always looking to turn defence into attack. The ladies are back in action tomorrow in the Northwest Regional League here at the Delta Taxis Stadium as they welcome FC United Of Manchester, 2pm kickoff with free entry! West Lancashire League: 1961 to 1991 The following season they moved up to the West Lancashire League where they spent the next thirty years. From 1961 until 1980 they were in Division Two and were promoted in 1981 as champions. In the season they won the Richardson Cup. North West Counties Leage: 1991 onward They were elected into the North West Counties Football League for the season, joining Division Two for the season. Squires Gate won the leagues Fair Play Award for the season and were losing finalists in the Division Two Trophy. They won the season Division Two Trophy and then the following season they missed the runner-up spot on goal difference but were still promoted to Division One following the demise of Stand Athletic who had originally been promoted as Division Two champions. They reached their highest league placing in the season also reaching the quarter finals of the FA Vase then last season, under the Management of Andy Clarkson, Gate improved still further on their best ever placing, finishing sixth in what is now the Premier Division.

Merseyrail Bootle Ladies put on a strong performance to continue their unbeaten run in the league and record their second win of the season. Bootle took the lead in the opening 5 minutes when Alice Whorton fired in a low cross and Siobhan Cliff was able to latch onto it and divert it into the back of the net. The team looked confident on the ball and were playing well however some pressure from Winsford eventually paid off as they drew level. Their striker picked up the ball just into Bootle's half and made a brilliant run finishing it off with a low shot into the bottom corner. Merseyrail Bootle didn't let their heads drop and 10 minutes later they were back in the lead, Tessa Littler won the ball back on the half way line, she found Devon in space who then played it in to Rachel Atherton, she was able to loft the ball in behind the Winsford defence and Siobhan Cliff doubled her goal tally with a calm finish. Half Time - Merseyrail Bootle 2-1 Winsford The second half was dominated by Bootle however they were finding it hard to convert their chances and put the game beyond Winsford. Siobhan Cliff had two brilliant chances to increase the lead but fired just wide both times, defender Lauren Williams came close after a corner broke to her and good play between Lauren and Tessa found the defender in space in the box but her low effort was saved by the Winsford keeper. Two subs where then made by Bootle with Emily Swindells and Ruth Thomas coming on, Emily nearly made an immediate impact when Jess Muirhead broke out from defence a played a great ball in behind but Emily's shot was saved by the keeper. The Bootle defence had held strong for the majority of the game, especially in the second half but Winsford nearly got back into the game when their quick striker spun Lauren at the back but could only find Danni's gloves. Finally in the 65th minute the lead was increased, when sub Ruth Thomas received a short corner and put a brilliant ball into the box for Tessa Littler to nod past the keeper. On 10 March 2007 Squires Gate played a home match against FC United of Manchester at Curzon Ashton F.C.s ground. The club had approached Blackpool F.C. about playing the game at Bloomfield Road but the ground was not available. And so they played the match in Ashton-under-Lyne, as it was felt that FCUM fans were more likely to attend with the match being staged in the Greater Manchester area. A crowd of 1,650 saw Squires Gate lose 0-1 and Squires Gate earned about 7,000. To cap a very impressive season, Squires Gate were delighted that no less than nine of their members were honoured with long service awards: Albert Hamer, George Diggle, Roy Westhead, Brian Hugill and Brian Addison all collected Football Association Order of Merit mementos for 50 years service; and Steve Bellamy, Mick Farrer, John Maguire and Tony Hornby received 30 years awards from the Lancashire FA. All these stalwarts are still active in the service of their Club. Groundsman Brian Addison was judged the best at our level in the Northern Region, and a magnificent third nationally at the FA Groundsman of the Year presentations in London last September, and his pitch is clear evidence of his commitment. As Chairman Stuart Hopwood said, " We believe in a sure and steady programme of improvement of our facilities, and we now feel that with an award winning pitch, dressing rooms which are amongst the best in the League, and a pleasant, air-conditioned Clubhouse, we have a lot to be proud of, and the future looks good for Squires Gate FC. Dave McCann was appointed manager towards the end of the 2012/13 season and has endured premier survival since taking charge. He is assisted by Richard Thomas. Season 20014/15 was the most successful in the NWCFL finishing in 6th place with a record number of points. 11 Bootle remain unbeaten in the league after a brilliant performance against Warrington, the team were unlucky not to take all three points from the game after a couple of chances were saved or went narrowly wide but a point was a good result in this end to end game. Warrington were the first to strike half way through the first half when a long ball caught out the defence and their fast striker was in behind, Danni in goal came out as quick as she could but the striker calmly played it into the back of the net. Bootle didn't let their heads drop and for the rest of the half were the better team. Emily had a great shot brilliantly saved by the Warrington keeper but the keeper could not keep out Alice's effort just before the half time whistle, Siobhan Cliff played a lobbed ball into the path of Alice who took it down and smashed it into the bottom of the crossbar and over the line. The game went into the break at 1-1. The second half was really end to end but it was Bootle who had the better opportunities to clinch the win, however Warrington stood firm and so did the Bootle defence who in the last 10 minutes had a lot of pressure but kept the game at 1-1. A point was probably a fair result for both teams but Bootle will feel they could have got the win after the number of good chances that fell their way. Player of the match went to captain Tessa Littler who controlled the midfield and never stopped running.
