1 PRESIDENT S WELCOME Welcome to all our supporters and guests for today s Round 8 clash for the 2011 season. We welcome Port Kembla today in what should be a very entertaining afternoon of football. Both teams in Youth and First Grade are desperate for wins today to maintain contact with the competition leaders. Please join us back at the Bulli Workers Club at the conclusion of 1 st Grade today for post match drinks. We will have the presentation of the Jumbuck Meats player s awards, kindly donated by Bill Turner. We will also be doing several draws in the Hundred Club tonight. Please make sure you are financial. Our Youth grade team had a tremendous win last week against Tarra playing the last 25 minutes with only 10 men. That type of commitment will be needed again to secure the points today. Congratulations to Steve Hanson who scored the best goal of his football career last week with a screamer into the top corner. Steve should ignore those supporters that claimed his goal was a cross gone wrong!!!! Our First grade team need to bounce back after a very lethargic display last week against the competition leaders. After competing well in the first half we dropped our intensity after the break and found Tarra too good in the second half. Unfortunately Graeme Goodfellow broke his foot last week against Tarra, lets hope Graeme has a speedy recovery. Richard McNeill

2 BULLI BULLETIN Football/Social News Rod s Back Rod Bastian is back as the new manager of Youth Grade. On behalf of Bulli Football Club I would like to apologise in advance to all the Youth Grade parents for some of the things their sons may see and hear with this lunatic around. Player Injuries In last weeks game against Tarrawanna, Graeme Goodfellow suffered another unfortunate injury, breaking bones in his foot during the early stages of the game and played on for around 10 minutes before being substituted. This injury will no doubt be a big loss to the First Grade squad and we wish Goodie a speedy recovery. Youth Grade Luncheon The Bulli FC committee would like to invite all Youth Grade players and parents to a luncheon that will be held in the clubhouse after the Bulli vs Dapto Youth Grade game at Balls Paddock on 21 st May. Food and drinks will be provided free of charge.

4 RESULTS By Peter Pele Over 35 s With the Easter break and illness taking it's toll Bulli started the game with only 10 players, a few early chances came Bulli's way but Dusko and Tony Hall were unable to take advantage, as the 1st half neared an end Jamberoo broke through the centre of the defence. Derek Davis got a hand to the shot but was unable to prevent the Jamberoo striker from tapping home the rebound. Half time score - Jamberoo 1 Bulli 0. The 2nd half started brightly with Bulli forcing the pace but chances were few and far between but on 56mins Tony Hall was fouled inside the area (penalty) Dusko stepped up to put Bulli back on equal terms. With the wind in their sails Bulli looked to take full control of the game and on 61 mins Jamberoo were awarded a fortuitous free kick on the edge of the Bulli box with Derek organising his wall the Jamberoo midfielder stroked the ball home. On 70 mins things were back on par with Dusko finding the back of the net from close range after some good work from Steve Grech. What came next was worthy of winning any game, on 75 mins the ball was cleared to Doug Oliver about 30 yards out and he unleashed a thunder bolt of a shot into the bottom corner of the net giving the keeper had no chance. Bulli ran out winners 3-2 with Man of the match going to all 10 players. Youth Grade Youth Grade entered their clash with league leaders Tarrawanna full of confidence after dispatching an 8 man Albion Park side They couldn t have wished for a better start either with Steve Hansen converting an early penalty. Tarrawanna were then quick to equalise and the scores were locked at 1-1 at the break. Bulli struck the first blow in the second half with Steve Hansen again putting the visitors ahead from a long range free kick reminiscent of Ronaldinho. Tarra weren t giving up the fight and equalised immediately. The game seemed destined for a draw until late in injury time when Bulli were awarded a penalty which was coolly finished by Caius Don-Pounder. This win moves Youth Grade into 2 nd place and in the process setting up a top of the table clash with Port Kembla today. First Grade After a comprehensive 7-2 victory of Albion Park Bulli travelled to face their bogey team Tarrawanna in the Match of the Round last Sunday. The opening 45 minutes was somewhat of an arm wrestle with Bulli slightly shading the hosts. The second half was a different story as the Blueys took full control. David Hartas scored with a great volley six minutes after the interval and Ricky Zucco followed up with a second goal, after being slipped through by Darren Stone. Bulli piled pressure on Tarra in the latter stages of the game but when Dave Buchanan missed an open net from 6 yards it was clearly not to be Bulli s day. The only real highlight from this performance was another superb game from Daniel Wagus who continues to impress in his first year at the club, on the downside Graeme Goodfellow suffered what was later confirmed a broken foot.
