You won t need hiking boots to climb Gellért Hill to enjoy breath-taking, in fact part of the UNESCO World Heritage, views of the city from the Citadel. Cross the river for the most grandiose building on the Pest embankment, the Parliament. For sacred wonders, visit the tallest building in the city, Saint Stephen s Basilica. Heroes Square will give you a peek into the romantic past of the country. When you re done with the must-sees, leave the main streets behind, and let the city unfold its secrets. LOGO AND MASCOT CHAMPLION IS THE MASCOT OF THE SENIOR WRESTLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Where the lion comes from? There is a legend about the stone lions sitting on either sides of the Chain Bridge that says that the lions do not have a tongue because the sculptor forgot to create it for them. The rumor dispersed very quickly and after some time, the whole city gossiped about the fact that the sculptor forgot to create the tongues for the lions. The response of the sculptor, János Marschalkó was that in fact, he created the tongues, but they were deliberately made invisible and consequently, if a passers-by takes a look at the lions, she cannot see the tongues in their mouth. If we believe in what the sculptor said, then the lions have tongues but they are invisible from the ground, and if we want to gather evidence, we might decide to witness it with our own eyes. But in that case, we should mount on the statues, and that s not an easy task to do. Fans of wrestling decided on the name of the World Championships mascot. Nearly 600 of our followers sent us name suggestions while almost 10.000 people participated in the voting. Champlion won by more than 3.000 voters a wordplay compiled from the words champion and lion. 7

PRE-COMPETITION Procedures FROM THE AIRPORT TO CITY CENTER TEAM ARRIVAL AT THE VENUE Teams will be dropped off at the venue for training and competition. Athletes and team officials must wear their accreditation card at all times in order to access the competition venue. Without accreditation card, access will not be granted. Please ensure that accreditation cards are worn at all times in order to avoid any inconveniences and problems. ACCREDITATION CARDS All athletes must present their accreditation card when checking in at the Call Room prior to their event. The athletes identity will be verified and their accreditation cards collected. Athletes will be escorted from the Call Room to the Field of Play for their event. On signal from Sports Presentation, the Field of Play Supervisor will cue the athletes on the Field of Play. Their accreditation cards will be taken by an assistant and will be stored in a basket during the match. On exiting the Field of Play after their event, athletes are to pick up their accreditation cards from the basket. REGISTRATION, NOTIFICATION AND ENTRY FORMS FINAL SPORT ENTRIES Each Athlete must be registered for the event she/he will be participating in. The sport entries must be submitted through the UWW Athena by September 19, 2018 at 23:59 (GMT). No late entries will be accepted. UWW and the Organising Committee will use all collected data for the purposes of event registration and accreditation. IMPORTANT: After the September 19 deadline, registration will be closed. ACCREDITATION All National Federations participating in the 2018 Senior Wrestling World Championships (FS/WW/GR) must complete the accreditation process in order to obtain the Accreditation Cards for their members. The accreditation Card contains all the information necessary to identify its owner, his/her role at the event and his/her access rights to the competition venues and restricted areas inside them, as well as his/her rights to use transportation services of the 2018 Senior World Wrestling Championships. The Card is personal and non-transferable, it must be presented at all times while in zones requiring accreditation Cards and is valid only in zones specified on the Card. The accreditation card contains a built-in chip system, which can be read by the installed terminals. The card contains the following information: name, accommodation name, style, arrival date and time, departure date and time, pick - up time, zones 8

PRE-COMPETITION Procedures ACCREDITATION CENTRE The Main Accreditation Centre for athletes and officials will be operating on the premises of the BOK (Syma) Hall in Budapest from October 17. In order to pick up the accreditation badge, Team Leaders (or designated Team Representative) need to visit the Main Accreditation Centre in person to pick up the Team s accreditation badges. The Team Leader (or designated representative) is required to present ALL ORIGINAL IDENTITY DOCUMENTS (original passports used as identification in the UWW Athena) of each Team Member. For this reason, only the staff and officials integral to the operation of the event will be permitted on or around the Field of Play. Similarly, no personal or non-essential equipment will be permitted on the Field of play during the competition. All athletes and team officials are asked to respect the need for a clear mat during the competition by ensuring only competing athletes are on the Field of Play. Access to the Field of Play will be strictly limited to persons with the correct accreditation, athletes and team officials are always required to wear their accreditation card where appropriate. LOST OR DAMAGED ACCREDITATION CARDS REPLACEMENT If an Accreditation card is lost or damaged, please immediately report to the Main Accreditation Centre or at the Sport Information Desk. PRE-COMPETITION Procedures VISA INFORMATION The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and other Hungarian authorities with competence in the visa procedure in line with the Host Country Agreement between UWW and Hungary, and the provisions of the existing relevant regulations will facilitate the issuance of the entry visas for the participants of the 2018 Senior Wrestling World Championships as smoothly and speedily as possible through the Hungarian consulates abroad. GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ENTERING HUNGARY Hungary joined the Schengen Area on December 21, 2007. From that time visas and residence permits issued by one of the Schengen Member States are valid also for Hungary, and visas/ residence permits issued by Hungarian authorities are as a general rule also valid for the entire Schengen Area. SCHENGEN MEMBER STATES: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Lichtenstein. Hungary issues visas in 89 countries, while in 67 countries Hungary is represented by other Member States for issuing visa. ACCOMMODATION Procedures 4 hotels of Budapest will accommodate team leaders and athletes, 3 of them serviced by official Championships transportation services, 1 is within walking distance. Each official hotel will have a dedicated Information Desk to serve National Federations. The desk will be located in the hotel lobby. Managers will be working in the accommodation places 24 hours a day in order to provide a better and efficient procedure of the guests registration and accommodation, as well as to coordinate their stay and assist in settling the questions that may arise. Please note that smoking is only permitted at the designated outdoor smoking areas in each hotel. Hotels have a selection of facilities. Please ask the hotel reception desk for more information. PLEASE NOTE: Check in possibility on the day of arrival only after 14:00. Check out time on the day of departure is 10:00. There is NO LATE CHECK OUT possibility! ACCOMMODATION Procedures CATERING FOR THE ATHLETES IN HOTELS Three-time meals of a buffet type are arranged for athletes in the designated hotels. On the day of arrival lunch and dinner are served. (on the day of arrival - lunch is served only in case the team arrives until 14:00 to the accreditation office!) On the day of departure only breakfast is served. BREAKFAST is served at every team hotel s restaurant. IMPORTANT NOTICE: For athletes only, please make sure on your two days of weigh-in and competition, you have your breakfast in Danubius Hotel Arena. NF officials, coaches and other athletes please have your breakfast in your hotel. Kosher and halal food only available at Danubius Hotel Arena, please send your request by 30 September 2018. LUNCH IMPORTANT NOTICE: Lunch is served for all accredited person ( athletes, coaches, team officials) in the restaurant of Hotel Arena. DINNER is served in every team hotel s restaurant, except Atrium Fashion Hotel. TRANSPORT Arrival and departure services will be provided to the participants and guests of the 2018 Senior Wrestling World Championships. ARRIVAL Information desks of the Organising Committee for rendering necessary assistance for guests of the are placed in arrival points. The Organising Committee registers participants at information desks and organises a transfer to the hotels. DEPARTURE Transport will be organised for all participants to the official points of departure (International Airport Budapest & Railway Stations Budapest). TRANSPORTATION The period of providing the transportation services is between October 18 29. THE FOLLOWING TRANSPORTATION SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED: transportation upon arrival and departure transportation to competitions and training sessions (during the official competitions and training) late transportation from the venues after doping control, as well as from hospitals transportation to the Opening Gala and to the Opening Ceremony The transportation system, which provides transportation of athletes and members of official delegations, will be marked. Please look for time schedule at your hotel. Transportation of athletes to the competition and training venues from their hotels and back will be organised by regular routes by means of the shuttle bus system. 13

COMPETITION VENUE MIXED ZONE The Mixed Zone is an area near the Field of Play for accredited media to conduct short interviews immediately after athletes have completed their events. It will be properly signed. All competitors must exit the Field of Play through the Mixed Zone.
