Trap Match What a great day at Buccaneer with the ATA Big 50 shoot. Today we had a record turn out with 38 shooters and 8 squads. At the rate we are going we will have to enlarge the parking lot or build another trap field. You won t guess it but the wind has returned. The scores came up for some. They are learning how to shoot in our wind. The top guns for the day are Pat Childers and Nathan Snyder with a score of 46 to take A Class. Terry Lewis and Brian De Mott took B Class with a score of 43. Larry Dudley and James Burden had scores of 38 for C Class. We had a three way tie for D Class. I would like to thank Jerry DiGiovanni for doing a great job of scoring. Also would like to thank Dave Ernst, Pat Childers, Richie Long and Jason Harris and everyone else for all their help. With their help it made a great day at Buccaneer. Little Dick Holliday is studying engineering at NC State and relates these stories To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers? Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets. The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?" The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?" The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?" The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that? Normal people believe if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet. Two engineers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking at its top. A woman walked by and asked what they were doing. "We're supposed to find the height of this flagpole," said one, "but we don't have a ladder." The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a couple of bolts, and laid the pole down on the ground. Then she took a tape measure from her pocketbook, took a measurement, and announced, "Twenty one feet, six inches," and walked away.

One engineer shook his head and laughed, "A lot of good that does us. We ask for the height and she gives us the length!" Both engineers have since quit their engineering jobs and are currently serving in the United States Congress. Respectfully Submitted Ned Bluntline Cowboy Fast Draw Match Howdy all, even with the late start we still had a smokin' good time at the OK Corral. We welcomed new shooter Ricochet Racheal, another natural shooter. And we were pleased to see the return of Beaner, Lunger Dan and Mike (Mike Hammer). From the looks of things it may be time to break out the "P" word...practice. At the end of our six round no X match Stallion and Tall Pines Kid were ranked #1 and #2 both with no Xs, followed by Snowman with only one X. Mike Hammer secured the last spot in the Mag-7 by winning the 1-X Last Chance. In the 2- X Mag-7 Shoot-Off Chance Holden and Mike Hammer fought their way for a chance at Stallion. Stallion prevailed, but Tall Pines Kid handed him 2Xs to take the win without a single X all day. As always a great bunch to shoot with, good shooting pards. The results of the match are as follows, with everyone's fastest shot of the day included. 1- Tall Pines Kid (.561)- CONGRATULATIONS - Top Gun!!!! 2- Stallion (.529) 3- Chance Holden (.547) 4- Mike Hammer (.611) 5- Snowman (.582) 6- Reaper Jones (.533) 7- Beaner (.631) 8- Charlie Horse (.705) 9- Lunger Dan (.679) 10- Ricochet Racheal (.852) 11- Uncle Jefro (.578) Congrats to "Stallion" for the fastest time of the day with a.529 shot. Come join us and try out your skills on Saturday March 31st. Want to give it a try, give me a call or e-mail me. 910-330-7179 Sincerely, Uncle Jefro

Spring Skeet League Forming WHAT: This is a SKEET shooting league for teams using a handicap score system based on each shooter's average. WHEN: This league will start on THURSDAY evening March 15. It will run for SIX consecutive Thursday nights. The FINALE NIGHT will be the 6 th THURSDAY which is 19 April. Our Finale Night will consist of a PICNIC and a FUN SHOOT consisting of trap, doubles skeet and/or five stand, and an AWARDS presentation. On each league night after skeet shooting and when there is enough interest, we may offer a 25 bird SKRAP (Skeet/Trap game) event for an additional fee. TEAMS: A team must have one BGC member as Team Captain and may have up to four other shooters. The best three handicapped scores from that team will be used each week for the team competition. A team may have a sixth shooter if that shooter is a lady or a YOUTH (high school age or younger). FORM A TEAM: I WILL START TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR TEAMS NOW. We have room to handle ten teams. If you are interested in becoming a Team Captain and forming a team, you can reserve a spot for a team by emailing me at: ron@leadingedgeskeet.com. I will take the reservations first come first serve. If you are one or two people without a team, I will try to connect you with one of the captains to find you a spot. If you know a youth that wants to shoot, please let me know that as well. Youths will need to be escorted by parents IAW BGC By-laws. Although parents are welcome to participate in the league as a shooter, they are not required to be a participating shooter. Please find a youth and mentor him or her in this fun sport!!!
