2 START OF UNAPPROVED MINUTES for the 12/10/12 BGC Board Meeting: Board members present: Ray Campbell, Jim Caison, Sholar Powell, Tom Baldwin, Tom Mix, Ed Weingart, Jeff Fountain, Wayne Aycock. 2 club members present. A. Call To Order: President Ray Campbell called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM B. Approve Agenda: Agenda was approved C. Approval of Previous Months Minutes: The November minutes were approved. D. Treasurer s Report E. Approval of Treasurers Report The Treasurers report was approved. F. New Business Dues Increase. The Board discussed the possibility of a dues increase in The motion was tabled. Increase Membership Cap. The Board discussed raising the membership cap. The motion was tabled. Returning Members Issue. The Board discussed the issue of members having left the Club either on good terms and did not just forgot to pay their dues on time, or under special extenuating circumstances such as illness or death in the family that caused the membership to be overlooked. The Board made a motion to allow such individuals to be placed on the potential applicant role with the same preferential treatment as applicants who have applied in consecutive years. Motion passed unanimously. G. Adjourn 8:05 PM MEMBERSHIP NOTICE - Annual Dues/NRA/Range Safety Certification: Effective with the 2012 Dues & Workday Assessment, which was mailed in December, each member is required to provide three items back to the Club with that payment. 1. Check for the correct amount of annual dues and any workday assessment stated on the invoice. 2. Proof of current NRA membership; either a photocopy of your membership card or a mailing label from your NRA magazine showing both your NRA ID number and a non-expired expiration date. 3. A signed Range Safety Certification form. Failure to include any of these items will result in your payment being mailed back to you for inclusion of the correct info. In the event your payment is close to January 31, and you are unable to get the correct payment/info in the hands of the Club by January 31, your name will be dropped from Club rolls, and your membership terminated. 2

3 BGC ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING Monday, January 14, :00 PM Carolina BBQ The Buccaneer Gun Club now elects its Board members at the first meeting of each new year. Each year 4 members of the Board of Director terms expire and their seats come up for re-election. This year the seats held by Wayne Aycock, Jeff Fountain, David Rose and John Scott are upt. There was a General Membership Meeting in November and the following candidates were nominated: The Nominating Committee presented its slate of candidates for election to the 4 Board seats: Wayne Aycock Dave Ernst Jeff Fountain Tami Hahn There were no nominations from the floor. We sincerely appreciate his efforts thank him for job well done. We also sincerely hope he will continue to bring fresh boiled peanuts when they are available. In addition, congratulations to Frank Langston who shot his first 25 straight in trap (do hats get shot in trap after the first 25 straight?) and to Dick Brame for the highest score yet of 47 plus a straight round as well. The next trap shoot will be at 1 PM ON 01/20/13. Let's get together after we shoot to discuss how we want to operate next year. Let's also try to get some more participants to shoot with us... DO NOT SHOOT THESE TARGETS WITH A CENTERFIRE RIFLE. DIRECTIONS FOR CALIBER OF PISTOL TO BE USED ON SPECIFIC TARGETS ARE POSTED ON SIGNS AT THE RANGE. 8
