Pom & Spirit Camp: Monday 15 min. Welcome and Name Game (Standing in a circle) Name Dance Game: starting with yourself, each person goes around the circle say your name along w/a dance more. Each person added go around the circle, try to remember each persons dance move. (Ex: Ms. Loryn + 1 jump, Student 1 + party arms; Ms, Loryn +1 jump, Student +party arms, Student 2 +toe taps ) 20 min. Across the Floor & Center Tricks Kicks (r, l, c) Traveling Arms 2-3 combos Center Jumps (Toe touch, hurkey, hurdle, tuck) Floor donkey kick 20 min. Pom Pons Craft Needed: Streamers, wooden stick, tape Each student should get 10 pre-cut streamers. Plus 1 shorter cut streamer for the end. Have them tape each streamer about an inch down the stick. Once all have been attached, the extra shorter streamer gets taped around the pieces for a clean looking finish. 15 min. Game (options on attached page.) 25 min. Learn First Half-Time Routine 15 min. Fitness Obstacle Course Needed: Hula Hoops, bosu ball, cones, bean bags, panel mat, pool tubes tape together You make one, then the students can put one together. 15 min. Learn 2 Spirit Chants with Pom Arms 5 min. Freeze dance.

Pom & Spirit Camp: Tuesday 15 min. Welcome and Game Categories or ship-wrecked. 15 min. Learn first half of Mid-American Poms Routine Kicks Arm sequences 30 min. Spirit Letters Needed: Construction Paper, markers, glue, glitter, jewels Have the students choose from the spirit words. Each student is in charge of one letter, or a symbol. The students have to write and color the letter. If possible choose a second word and assign them each a letter. The letters they have should be able to flip around and still spell the word properly without needing to move. After they have done the letters, they can decorate each side however they d like. 20 min. Game (options on attached page) 10 min. Arm Circles (big, small, pulses) Holds: big t, little t, straight out, V Push ups Arms Conditioning 20 min. Kick-Line Have them spread out and learn straight kicks, side kicks, fan kicks, back kicks Line them up by height. Teach them how to link up arms and not hang on one another. Teach them 1 kick combo. Add head snaps in. 20 min. Review first half of dance. Learn second half of routine. Add in them using their spirit letter. 5 min. Turn on fun lights and run through the dance 2.

Pom & Spirit Camp: Wednesday 15 min. Welcome and Game Hula Hoop Pass. Everyone stands in a circle and we try to pass the hula hoop from person to person. If the group is small, time it the first round and then try to beat the time. If it is a big enough group, spilt in half and race. 25 min. Learn Half-Time Routine pt 1 Learn beginning chant, and ending chant. Learn formation changes with arms. 20 min. Hair Bow Needed: Ribbon, glue, rhinestone jewels, clip or bobby pin Each student need one strip of ribbon, and one smaller piece of ribbon. Instructor can help glue, using hot glue if need be. The smaller ribbon should be wrapped around the center and used to attach the clip. Students can bejewel their bow. Leave to dry. 15 min. Game (options on attached page) 20 min. Fitness Obstacle Course Needed: Hula Hoops, bosu ball, cones, bean bags, panel mat, pool tubes tape together You make one, then the students can put one together. Make two and have them race through, or make one and track their times. 20 min. Finish Half-Time Routine Learn 4-6 eight counts that go in between the beginning and ending chant. The formation changes should go after the 1st chant, and then after the dance before the 2nd chant. 10 min. Ripple Dance Circle. Instructor starts the move, then it ripples through the circle. The last person to move is in charge of how long we move. Once that person stops we all stop. Then the second person starts a new move. This continues in rounds until everyone has started the move. 10 min. Fun Lights Performance Plug in the rope lights and disco ball. Have the students run through the dance in groups, so that they have an audience. Perform as one big group. Invite any parents in, if they are there at the end.

Add head snaps in. 20 min. Puffy Pom Pon Needed Table Cloths 2 per students, yarn, scissors Instead of table clothes 6-8 sheets of colorful tissue paper. For that you only need to fold the paper once in half (hot dog if possible) Fold the table clothes (together, at the same time) in half (hot dog) and then fold at least 5-7 times so that it is approx. 12 in in width. Feed the yarn down the center. Cut into 1/2 inch sections. The student will then pull and tie the yarn as tight as possible bringing the ends of the table cloths around. They then puff it out. 20 min. Game (options on attached page) 30 min. Routine include kick-line, arms sequence with formation change, floor work, and call words from a chant

Pom & Sprit Camp: Thursday 15 min. Practice Center jumps and tricks Donkey Kick, Hurkey, toe touch, have them make up one and name it themselves 10 min. Perform routine, end it with their trick. Split and perform in groups. 5 min. Clean up & Sign out. Check that the trampoline is open for 15-20 Minutes this day for jumps and tricks. Practice: toe touch, straight jumps, hurkeys, hurdles, tucks...etc.

Pom & Spirit Camp: Friday 15 min. Welcome and Name Game (Standing in a circle) Poison dart frog, Little Sally Walker, or Freeze Dance/Statue. 20 min. Across the Floor & Center Tricks Kicks (r, l, c) Traveling Arms 2-3 combos Center Jumps (Toe touch, hurkey, hurdle, tuck) Floor donkey kick 20 min. Spirit Stick Craft Needed: Paper towel roll, markers, glue, jewels, ribbon Have the students Initial the inside top or bottom of their roll. They will color their roll however they d like. Using glue they can attach jewels, glitter, and ribbons. 20 min. Game (options on attached page) 30 min. Learn final routine 15 min. Fitness Obstacle Course Needed: Hula Hoops, bosu ball, cones, bean bags, panel mat, pool tubes tape together You make one, then the students can put one together. 10 min. Perform Half-Time Show Friday s routine (if it s the same group-do another day s dance)

Extras: Craft: Spirit Poster Decorate their own spirits poster. It would include their name Varsity Dance Team You re number 1 Go NAME they can draw themselves dancing, add stars and glitter. Make up their own chants. Have them write down a 2 sentence chant or cheer that goes with different sports: Football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, baseball. CAN Use poms that we have upstairs for their final performances if those days, poms were not made.
