NRA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT The Buccaneer Gun Club is a 100% NRA membership club every member is required by bylaw to be a member of the NRA. The best way to insure that we know you are a current member is to send a copy of your magazine mailing label to the club mailbox. That label has both your membership number and your membership expiration date. If we do not have proof of current NRA membership by January 31 each year, you will be dropped as a member of the Buccaneer Gun Club. In addition, we will no longer accept your NRA dues payment with your annual Club dues it is your responsibility to maintain your membership. MEMBERSHIP MANUAL QUIZ REQUIREMENT Your membership cannot be renewed for 2015 unless you have submitted a completed Membership Manual Questionnaire. It is due by October 31, 2014 and should be mailed to the Club PO Box. The balance of the membership renewal package will be mailed out normally on December 1, 2014. Manuals were mailed August 28th to those who had not previously picked up and signed for a copy at the Clubhouse. Additional copies are still available at the Clubhouse in case you have misplaced yours or the mailed copy did not arrive. Please consider this Quiz as a learning exercise. It is intended to highlight Club policies that members sometimes fail to follow. The Manual provides members with relevant information, policies, Constitution and Bylaws in one readily accessible source. AUGUST TRAP SHOOT ALL HAIL Reggie Fitz-Gerald!!! Reggie shot his first straight at BGC and was overall high shooter. Man, he was really hot! Speaking of hot - while the weather did produce warm temperatures for the shooters, it didn t seem to affect the scores any. Overall there were pretty high scores by everyone. Next monthly open trap event is September 21st. Please be mindful of our 13 mph speed limit. AUGUST SKEET SHOOT August Skeet match had a major threat of rain, but we managed to stay dry. Only had 11 shooters but we still had fun. The temperature and breeze was just right. This game is really taking off now that we have a class for just about everybody to shoot. We even had our first youth shooter William George take part in this match...he shot a.22 from Low gun Position and did very well on the.22 plate rack. Now that we have the.22 rack we invite you to try this game. Just bring a.22 pistol {that works} and you can compete...you don't even have to have a holster... None of the cowboys who said they were coming showed except for Charlie White who, by the way, beat all shooters on the plates and mover matches...here is where I make that "Chicken Noise" to the other cowboys. Hope to see you on the 4th Sunday in September... BUCCANEER SPURS COWBOY FAST DRAW RESULTS Howdy all, things really heated up Saturday with the return of two fast guns, Billy Byrd and Secret Squirrel. It was great to see both of them back at the match. At the end of our six round no X match guess who was on top??...billy Byrd and Secret Squirrel. We had a one X shoot-off to determine the 7th spot for our Mag 7 shoot-off, with Charlie Horse taking the spot. However, sitting back in the 6th spot the Stallion quietly started picking everyone off to take the win. Good shooting Stallion. The results of the match are as follows, with everyone's fastest shot of the day included. 1- Stallion (.558) - CONGRATULATIONS - Top Gun!!!! 2- Uncle Jefro (.587) 3- Billy Byrd (.606) 4- Secret Squirrel (.589) 5- Outkast (.655) 6- Tall Pines Kid (.556) 7- Charlie Horse (.703) 8- Khaos Kid (.641) 9- Kid Jallao (.848) Congrats to Tall Pines Kid for the fastest times of the day with a.556 second shot. Come join us and try out your skills on Saturday September 27th 2014 at the Buccaneer Gun Clubs OK Corral. Want to give it a try, give me a call or e-mail me. 910-330-7179 Sincerely, Uncle Jefro & Hot Lead Heather BUCCANEER RANGE REGULATOR GAZETTE August 1897 Headline...Dick Holliday Visits Hooters... During a long day of looking around the Tombstone Cabela s, Dick and a couple of friends stopped in at Hooter's for some Hot Wings and drinks. After being there for a while, one of the cowboys asked Dick which waitress he would like to be stuck in an elevator with. Dick told them "The one who knows how to fix elevators." 'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'
